EDU 255/ Lab D Reflection

Overall, I feel like my teaching wasn’t too bad, but I definitely feel like I could of done

more to make it better than it was. I know I have plenty of room for improvement, but I have

improved over the last few labs. I feel like my transitioning of lesson was pretty good and

smooth. I was sure to let students know where they are going and what the task was. I also took

advantage of my whistle, which was my signal for attention. I noticed that sitting the students

down in the same area where the instinct activity was made it easier to transition to my fitness

activity after introducing myself. Typically, I would have students move from the area where the

instant activity is to the cue board, just to bring them back to the instant activity area.

I need to work on being clearer when I’m speaking. I feel like I rush what I’m saying

when I don’t need to. This time around I had more than enough time but still felt like I rushed a

few times. I feel like I need to work more on my delivery when teaching a skill. Remembering

to use different angle and mention common errors. I even missed my closure which is very

important. Next time, I would pick on students to help or demonstrate skills when teaching. As

well as communicate more corrective feedback to students during activities
