20th Sunday after Pentecost / Tone 3/ St.

Hilarion the Great

Resurrectional Troparion, Tone 3:

Let the heavens be glad; let earthly things rejoice; / for the Lord hath wrought might with His arm. /
trampling down death by death; / becoming the first-born of the dead, / delivering us from the belly of
Hades, / and granting the world great mercy

Troparion of the Temple Tone 4

Adorned in the blood of Thy martyrs / throughout all the world, as in purple and fine linen, / Thy
Church, through them doth cry unto Thee, O Christ God: / Send down Thy compassions upon Thy
people;// grant peace to Thy flock and to our souls great mercy

Troparion of the Saint, Tone 8:

With streams of thy tears thou didst irrigate the barren desert, /and with sighs from the depths of thy
soul thou didst make it to bear fruit an hundredfold./ Thou wast a beacon to the whole world, radiating
miracles. / O Hilarion our father, entreat Christ God, that our souls be saved!

Resurrectional Kontakion, Tone 3: Thou didst arise today, O Merciful One, / and hast led us out from
the gates of death. / Adam dances today, and Eve rejoices. / The Prophets also, along with Patriarchs, /
praise without ceasing the divine might of Thy authority.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit

Tone 3: Kontakion of Saint

Assembling today, in hymns we praise thee / as a never-waning luminary of the noetic Sun; / for thou
hast shone forth upon those / in the darkness of ignorance, / guiding all up to the divine heights, O
Hilarion. / Wherefore, we cry out: / Rejoice, O father, // thou foundation of all fasters!

Both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
