Maoism can be summed up in 5 points

1. New Democracy
Laying the foundation for a socialist society and restructuring the old society into the new one. Several
classes are working together to fight the old system and establish the new onw
2. Cultural Revolution
Fearing that china would have the same state as the soviet union, Mao thus ultimately adopted four goals for
the Cultural Revolution:
 to replace his designated successors with leaders more faithful to his current thinking;
 to rectify the Chinese Communist Party;
 to provide China’s youths with a revolutionary experience;
 achieve some specific policy changes so as to make the educational, health care, and cultural systems less
elitist.
3. Law of contradiction(s)
 Things have an essence and a being. Eg,
4. Mass line
 Party leaders take their cue from the masses on reforms/ideas but then anyone who disagreed with Mao was
caught and thrown in jail.
5. Protracted people’s war
 three stage method of waging war on old ideals
1. strategic defense (they’re winning)
2. Strategic equilibrium (we’re tied)
3. Strategic offense (they’re losing)
