INTRODUCTION

Stress is a feeling that we encounter when there is an existing tension


whether emotional or physical. Hans Selye is acknowledged as the “Father of
Stress Research”. Stress is described as a non-specific reaction of the body
to any stipulation (Hans Selye, 1936). Because of stress, there is an
increased risk for having all types of adverse health effects and it involves
mental disorders. Biological substances associating vulnerability to stressful
situations with alterations in the brain that can result to mental health issues.
Stressors whether physical or psychological can stimulate the stress
hormones and brain passageways that is essential for achieving balance
between bodily functions and cognitive functions. Our body has the capacity
to detect alarming circumstances and we learn how to overcome it (Gordon,
J., 2018). As humans, we experience various challenges in our everyday
lives. There are moments where we feel like we are going at the right track
but sometimes we also think that we are failing and it frustrates us. We often
doubt and ask ourselves why are these things happening? Of all the people in
the world, why me? In terms of education, there are challenges that students
encounter while pursuing their aspirations which results to stress. Studying is
not an easy thing to do especially if you have problems with learning. With all
the years of learning and going to school, there will always be struggles until
you reach your goals.Stress cannot be avoided but it can be defeated. With
the proper approach, anyone can surpass stress and live with it like a pro.
