The Position of the Adverb in a Sentence

An adverb of frequency goes before a main verb (except with To Be).

Subject + adverb + main verb


I always remember to do my
homework.
He normally gets good marks in
exams.

An adverb of frequency goes after the verb To Be.

Subject + to be + adverb
They are never pleased to see
me.
She isn't usually bad tempered.

We can also use the following adverbs at the start of a sentence:

Usually, normally, often, frequently, sometimes, occasionally

 Occasionally, I like to eat Thai food.


How often do you go to the movies? I occasionally go to the movies.

ORDER THE SENTENCES:


1. Teacher – never – late – lessons – for – is
 Teacher never is late for lessons
2. Often – I –my – weekend – the - clean - at – bedroom
 I often clean the bedroom at weekend
3. I – sometimes – bored – ´m – lessons – the – in – math
 I sometimes bored in the math lessons
4. Play – never – computer – You and Tony – with – games – me
 You and tony never play computer games with me
5. School – arrive – The – bus – always – half – at – eight – past
 The school past always arrive at half eight
