Resolution

To set a port number 1023 or below for a network node or printer, first set up all the network nodes and printers on the system using port
number “1024” - WQA

Details:
Remember the name of the network node or printer that needs to have its port number changed. Follow the instructions below to
change the Port number in the config file manually:

1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + F5 to open the Engineering UI (must have the USB Keyboard installed).

2. Open a Terminal Window (first icon from the left).

3. Type the following into the command line for the type of host you need to change:

Work List: cd /magichome/cots/terra/resources/NETWORK

Network Host: cd /magichome/cots/terra/resources/NETWORK
Printer: cd /magichome/cots/terra/resources/print

4. Once at the correct directory, type the following for the type of host you need to change:

Work List: gedit mwl_pps_cfg.xml

Network Host: gedit network-cfg.xml
Printer: gedit TerraPrintCfg.xml

5. Find the name of the host you need to change in the file and change either of the following lines shown below the name (where “XXX” is
the desired port number for that node):

<port>1024<port> to <port>XXX<port>
<dPort>1024</dPort> to <dPort>XXX</dPort>

6. Save and exit the file.

7. Type exit to close Xterm window.

8. Click on the Door Icon to close the engineering UI.

9. Reboot the system for the changes to take effect.
