Skill 21.

Subject and object pronoun

Pronoun are words such as he, she, or it that take the place of nouns. One common problems
with pronoun on the TOEFL test is that subjects and object pronouns are confused, so you should be
able to recognize these two types of pronouns.

Pronoun adalah kata – kata seperti, he, she atau it. Yang bertempat sebagai kata benda.
Permasalah umum dengan pronoun dalam TOEFL test adalah subject dan object pronoun. Jadi kalian
hari mampu menemukan dua jenis pronoun ini.

Example :

These are error example in TOEFL TEST.

1. Me and my friend are taking a trip


Me sebagai Object. Tapi tempatnya pada posisi subject.
2. Our neighbors are going with you and I
I sebagai subject tetapi posisinya terletak pada object.

Exercises :

Each following sentences contains at least one subject or object pronoun. Circle pronoun. Then indicate
if the sentences are correct or incorrect.

1. Her and bob came over to visit me

2. I brought it for you and them

3. You forgot to give it to they.

Skill 22 : Possessive
Possessive adjectives and pronouns both show who or what. “owns” a noun. However, possessive
adjectives and possessive pronouns do not have the same function.

Possessive adjectives dan pronoun keduanya menunjukkkan kepemilikan who atau what. Pada kata
benda. Possessive adjective dan possessive pronoun tidak mempunyai fungsi yang sama.
