    PROFESSIONAL ETHICS ASSIGNMENT - 413

    Congratulations! You are embarking on a major field experience (your internship) and will soon be a
    practicing professional. As a member of the profession, you are expected to abide by ethical standards
    associated with your career. Each area, recreation therapy, outdoor recreation, and tourism/ special events
    are supported by a number of professional associations. These associations typically articulate ethical
    standards or practices for your area.

    Your Assignment = 10 points.

    1. Provide a definition for “professional ethics”.

    2. Identify one or more professional associations associated with your area of interest. Provide a
    mission statement and an overview of this association(s).

    3. Provide the ethical standards or guidelines developed by the association(s).

    4. Choose any three of the standards that you feel are the most important and explain why. In
    addition, explain how you will implement or practice these as a professional.
