Today we will make Kadai Chole

Preparing them is a quick process, it is delicious too.

We usually serve them with Poori and Paratha

You can eat it for breakfast,

for snacks or you can prepare its Chaat too.

Come, let us start the preparation

We are taking White Chickpeas after

washing and soaking them overnight.

You can soak them for 7-8 hours too.

Firstly, we will boil them.

Add 1/2 cup of water

Add 1/2 teaspoon of Salt

Add 1/2 the quantity of 1/4 teaspoon of Baking Soda.

It helps to boil chickpeas better and quickly

It enhances its taste too.

Mix all the ingredients properly

Add 1 tea bag in it

It will enhance its colour and taste.

You can use tea leaves after tying them

in a cotton cloth instead of a tea bag

or tie some dry gooseberries in a cotton cloth and use it.

Now, we will let this boil till the first whistle blows

The first whistle has blown. Switch off the flame.

Wait until all the pressure releases from the cooker

Let’s check how the chickpeas look

Mash the chickpeas to check, press them.

Chickpeas have properly boiled

Remove the tea bag from it

Drain the chickpeas using a strainer to remove extra water.

Preheat a pan to cook Kadai Chole.

Add 2 tablespoons of clarified butter in it

You can use oil instead of clarified butter

Let the clarified butter melt

We are taking these 2 tomatoes after

chopping them into larger sized slices.

I am using 1.5 tomatoes and keeping aside the remaining half.

The clarified butter has heated

Turn the flame to low

Add 1/4 tsp of Cumin Seeds in it

Add 1/4 tsp of carom seeds

Switch off the flame

Add 2 finely chopped Green Chillies

Add 2 to 3 vertically chopped green

chillies along, 1/2 inch ginger julienne

Chop its finer julienne

Saute them

Add the boiled chickpeas in it

Add rest of the spices

We added 1/2 tsp of salt while boiling chickpeas.

Add the remaining 1/2 tsp of salt

Add 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder

Add 1 tsp of Coriander powder

Add 1/4 tsp of Garam Masala

Add 1/4 tsp of mango powder

You can use pomegranate seeds instead of mango powder

Add the chopped tomatoes

Add some finely chopped coriander

Mix all the ingredients properly

The Kadai chole has cooked

If you like onion then, you can add it after chopping.

Instant Kadai Chole is ready to be served
