a. Briefly synthesize the story of the video on the secrets of family of Jose Rizal

The story in the video started off by narrating that Teodora Formoso, the wife of Jose
Maria Alonzo, the younger brother of Rizal’s mother Teodora Alonzo cheated on him while he
was on a business trip in Europe. Because of what happen, the older sister wanted to help his
brother of the conflict with his wife. On the time that Jose Alonzo locked his wife in a room for
the reason that his wife cheated on him, it was Teodora Alonzo who look and took care of his
wife after he went back to Europe for a business trip. On a regular day when Teodora Alonzo
brought food to Formoso, Formoso did not ate the food but rather gave it to her dog which the
dog died thus suspecting Teodora Alonzo of an attempted murder which she spent 2 years in jail.
Lorenzo Alonzo, the father of Jose and Teodora Alonzo was married to a certain Paula
Tolentino but did not had a child. It was Brigada de Quintos who was the mother of the four
children of Lorenzo including Teodora and Jose Alonzo. When Jose Alonzo was bound to be
married to Teodora Formoso, it needed legal papers that time to be presented upon marriage
specially that the two were came from a known family in Biñan. That time also, Lorenzo was
already dead and the title of being the head family must hand down to a successor. That’s when
Jose Alonzo stepped in and claimed to be the legitimate son of Lorenzo and his legal wife Paula,
disowning his real mother Brigada. Maybe it’s one of the reason of conflict between the Alberto
family, next generation family of Jose Alonzo and Teodora Formoso and Alonzo family, the
family of Jose Rizal. The first reason was when Rizal’s mother was accused of attempting killing
Teodora Formoso. Another reason of the conflict between the two families was because of a
gossip that Soledad, the youngest sister of Rizal was forenamed to be a child of Saturnina and
Jose Alonzo, an uncle-niece relationship.
