What are the negative effects of the author’s inability

to read? Firstly, she felt embarrassed and she

misbehaved to hide her inability of reading. The more
her classmates bullied her the worst she felt.
Moreover, she left school without a degree. Not only
was she unable to assist her daughter with her
homework, but also never read her a bedtime story.
However, she learned to read. She purchased a book
and was determined to read it. Moreover, she followed
the words with her finger and said each word aloud.
Apart from this, she practised reading anything which
had print on it. Finally, the woman and the daughter
were given an opportunity on a National Literacy Trust
reading course.
