SLACK – BE LESS BUSY

1. Do you consider Slack a form of disruptive or sustaining technology? Why or why not?
• Slack is a disruptive technology, because it has growing quickly compared to other unified
communication (UC) players. Things are moving rapidly in this space, and these kinds of
companies are figuring out how to enter the market. As they become more settled, the UC
proposition will continue to develop, and on the off chance that you do not follow the market, it
will get harder to make right decision for collaboration. Companies saw Slack's potential in front
of the market and took a proactive position to abstain from being disturbed. All things
considered, they have the clients, though companies like Slack need to fabricate their client base
from scratch. That is the reason they utilize the freemium model, and as a decision maker, you
should remember that as far as life span. Many will not endure the underlying gold rush, after
which just the individuals who create income producing clients will remain.

2. What is the e-business model implemented by Slack? Explain

• Slack uses the freemium business model. Freemium model is where free version is
offered at first then if they want the advance functions of the slack then they will pay a
subscription. They have a free, standard and plus subscription that mostly used by the
smaller organizations, and there is the enterprise subscription that is used by the larger
organization. Basically, it is a combines the free model with a direct sales force to get
premium. They make most of there revenue based on their subscription. With over a
million users every day and thousands of big organizations paying either monthly or
annual subscriptions.
