EOF A module.
Automatically monitors the input and output optica l power ofthe EOF A
module and qlleries the opti ca l power.
Protects the EOFA module. When no opti cal signals are input, the laser
is automatically tllrned off. When optical signals are input, the laser is
automatically turned 011.
Perfo rmance and Reports the performance parameters of the laser. Provides rich alarms

equipment.
Software upgrade Supports the software upgrade and expansion without interrupting

EDFA Module
The optical amp lifi er uni t consists of two EDFA modules. One is BA and the o ther PA. When
the board is used as a pre-amplifier (PA), an optical filter with 15 50. 12 nm as the centra l
wave le ngth is added to the optica l ou tput end ofthe module. A booster amplifier (B A) does not

erbium tib er inside the EDF A modul e. Bump ligh t and input signallight are coup led into the
erbiu m fiber lhrough an optical coupler. The input and output optical signal s of th e module are
Jed o ut by two fi ber splitt ers as per a specific coupling ratio. T he optical signal s are then COn verted
to o pl ica l current by two PIN photoelectri cal diodes. The input and output powers of the EDFA
modu le are determined as per the optical s ignals. The modu le also applies optical isolating
measures at the input and the output ends to improve the performance of the modu le.
Control Module
T he co ntro l module:
-;-he control module consists of AID converting unit, DI A converting unit and CPU. The AID
converti ng unit converts the temperature val ue of the coo ling e lectri c ity a nd the inputloutput
optical powe r from analog values to digital values . The convel1ed values are then sent to C PU,
which generates performance reporting event or alarmo The A IO con verting unit al so convel1S

After the CPU processes the convel1ed vaJues, the OlA convel1ing unit controls precisely the
driving analog circuit ofthe bump Jaser ofthe EOFA o ptical module . The internal temperature
oftbe bump laser module is kept at 25 °C. The temperature sensor inside the bump laser outputs
temperatu re change to drive cooler to keep the internal temperature ofthe bump laser module
at 25°C .
