    NATURE NARRATIVE TENSES We can use many different structures when we tel stories. The past simple We use the past simple to describe finished events - often events that follow each other. These are usually the main events of a story. They can be linked together using words such as and, and then, after that, after and before. We form regular past simple verbs by adding -ed to an infinitive verb, for example, wait / waited. There are no rules for irregular past simple verbs.
