In Peace

For my galaxy series I experimented with oils and different brush techniques. To make a

realistic galaxy I used a fan brush with swirling movements. I chose different colors like greens,

reds and purples for my galaxy works. For the stars I used an old, stiff brush and dipped it in

white paint. By standing in distance with the painting, I splattered the white paint all over my

final works and in that way I could create the stars in the galaxy. After the oils dried I went over

them with gloss and this created a shiny effect. The reason I chose to paint galaxies was because

I found them inspiring and deep. By staring at pictures I thought of many different meanings it

could have and for me galaxies represents freedom and freedom represents peaceful state of

mind. The reason I painted 3 works was to experiment with different depths and swirling

techniques.
