Guidelines for Case Analysis

1. POSSIBLE STRUCTURE
a. Situational analysis – Review the case facts and implications thereof. Typically
through the situational analysis you should be able to identify the protagonist,
examine the internal and external conditions facing him / her, the timelines /
chronology etc. The situational analysis should lead you to the definition of the
problem
b. Problem statement – what is the problem facing the decision maker.
How to go about implementing the change process?
c. Alternatives – Identify the various options available to the decision maker
Global rollout
Region wise pilot phased rollout
d. Criteria for evaluation – what are the parameters on which you will evaluate the
various options. You may wish to prioritize the decision criteria.
Resistance to change etc.
Stakeholder’s impact
e. Analysis and decision – analyse the various alternatives and identify the decision.
f. Contingency plan – what are the risks with your chosen alternative? Is there a
back-up plan?
