One pleasant summer day,

An earthworm got its way

Living underground, munching old leaves
Turning them into soil for trees
Humble in looks, often skewed like hooks
silently it toils

Suddenly came along

Pairs of colorful wings catching the eye
Butterflies went fluttering by
Making their homes anywhere
As one of it gracefully flaps
suddenly saw the earthworm, busy on its job.

Then, pretty little butterfly asked,

"How pity of you my little friend, dont you regret your life?"
The worm replied, "Tunneling deep in the cool, dark soil.
Always seem to work and toil.
We, earthworms feed the soil."

" Well, I have wings of an orange and silvery blue on wings of yellow too.
We, butterflies float in air
You see my beautiful colorful wings
That gracefully flap back and forth Unlike yours, Perceived as lowly
Dirty, slimy, twisty and squirmy.
For I, Indeed, a beautiful butterfly!" said she.

"What can we do my friend? Perceived as lowly, but actually holy

Earthworms feed the soil
Woven into the dirt, never rude nor curt
Perform its work unseen
That even wastes improve taste
In every pea and bean.

I thank God who made me.

To live such life wonderfully
And to help other animals feed.
For I nurture every flower you also eat."
The worm explained.

Butterfly: Symbolizes people who are mapagmayabang sa kanilang mga sarili. Hindi nila nakikita
ang kagandahan ng bawat isa.
Earthworm: Symoblizes people who are humble kahit sa sila ay inaalipusta. Nananatili silang
matatag sa lahat ng hirap kahit sila pa ang mas nakatutulong sa marami.

Lesson: Huwag maging mayabang at mapanghusga sa ibang tao. Laging magpakita ng

kapakumbabaan at huwag masayadong masilaw sa kagandahan ng mga bagay na mayroon ka
ngayon. Huwag maging materyalistiko. Laging tandaan na ito ay nawawala, ngunit ang
kagandahan at kabutihan sa ating puso ang magtutulak na pagpalain tayo at ito ang mananatili
habambuhay. Tulad nang nakita natin sa kwento, tularan natin si earthworm bilang may
pasasalamat sa diyos at sa kanyang buhay. Siya ay naging makonteto sa kung anong meron siya
ngayon at tinitiyak natin na siya ay pagpapalain balang araw.
