ACTIVITY IDEAS:

 Cut out the cards to use for a pairwork activity – one person says the date and describes the
event, the other must guess the event.
 Alternatively, one partner can try to guess the event by asking questions, e.g. “When did this
event happen?”, “Was a person born on this date?”
 I developed this activity for one of my French private students who has trouble with the Past
Simple interrogative form and dates in English – feel free to change the events on the cards
so they are more relevant to your students 
