1. ABOUT THIS DOCUMENT
This document specifies the General Inter-ORB Protocol (GIOP) minor
exception code allocation for the Nokia 12 GSM module (hereafter Nokia 12
module). Minor exception codes provide more detailed information on the
reasons for CORBA COMM FAILURE exceptions.

Depending on the Object Request Broker (ORB) that is used, you may get the
minor exception codes in different formats. In this document the minor
exception codes are shown in the following three formats:

• Hexadecimal value containing both the Vendor Minor Codeset ID (VMCID)


and minor code
• Decimal value containing both the VMCID and minor code
• Hexadecimal VMCID code and decimal minor code

The Java™ 2 Micro Edition (J2ME™) ORB of the Nokia 12 module gives the
minor exception codes as decimal values containing both the VMCID and
minor code.
