Project summary: The Multiplication & Division topic connects students to practice
multiplication and division skills through collaborative online activities.

Description:
Students review multiplication and division skills and design word problems specific to their
community. Students then have the chance to solve multiplication and division word problems
created by students from around the world!

To help students create their projects, they will complete two collaborative lessons. Each
lesson includes a video, an informational text, and a comprehension question to guide
discussions with students around the world.
1. Multiplication & Division Review
2. How to Write a Word Problem
Objectives/Goals:
- identify and share recipes of popular dishes in the community;
- convert the recipe units from English units of measurement to Metric (or vice versa)
Students identify a place they would like to visit. Students might choose to visit a destination
in a neighboring state, a different country, or destination in outer space!
- determine how long it would take to travel to their destination via various modes of
transit;
- interview people in their community who use multiplication and division in their job;
- example multiplication and division problems from the job;
- design their own project.
