As a student in business administration, you would like to pursue business in line with

your interest. Let’s say you are interested in engaging in producing and selling handicraft

products. However, you want to ensure that your decision is right. Therefore, you need to

conduct a feasibility study. To start with your feasibility study, please prepare the following;

1. Background of the Study, and

2. Statement of the Problem

Background of the study

The survival and success of the handicraft businesses largely depend on the promotion

strategies that enable the sellers to make the buyers be aware, attract and retain buyers for the

crafts. Among the developing countries is committed to develop the private sector in which

small enterprises such as handicraft play an important part. Thus, with more effective

promotion strategies, successful results are achieved and attractive financial earning is realized.

Handicraft businesses are among businesses that are lagging behind by lack of proper

promotion strategies to attract buyers. Promotion for handicraft is passive, sellers tend to rely

on a word of mouth and then wait for buyers to come (Ibid).


Statement of the problem

Handicraft business in developing countries in particular faces different challenges. This

feasibility study is intended to determine and analyze the producing and selling of handicraft

products.

1. What kind of handicraft are trends in different countries?

2. What are the marketing strategy to be used?

3. How to promote the handicraft products to the small business enterprise?
