Note on cricket
If you visit England during the summer, you may
see people playing cricket. It is commonly played
on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. It bas very
complicated rules and you need very unusual
words to talk about it. A game of cricket can last
one day or as long as five days!
If you really want to know more about it, ask an
English person to explain these terms: the
batsman, the bowler, the umpire, fielders, runs
the wicket, the stumps, a four, a six, an over.
