Workers Union were amended to provide for making the President of
the Union as election authority, empowering him to nominate all
office bearers and Denying authority to the general body to remove
the president from office before expiry of his term. These amendments
were registered by the Registrar. It was heldt hat the amendments were
contrary to the letter and spirit of the Trade Unions Act.The President
who is vitally interested in the conduct of elections cannot be the
person who entrusted with theauthority to prepare the voters
list, appoint returning officers and conduct elections. It is case of
person being given the authority to perpetuate himself in office.Such a
procedure amounts to constituting a persona judge in his own
