FOREWORD

The battles of life have no timetable and as such, a state of

preparedness is the only posture a believer can take to
overcome such battles. The best day to win a battle is not
the day of the fight but the day of preparation. The day of
preparation is the day when victory is decided and determined.

The good news I have for you is that the book you are
holding in your hand is a timely tool released by the Lord to
equip you with the relevant knowledge to experience
victory in every battle that confronts you. Within the
pages of this book, you will discover victory strategies whose
engagement will place you on the path of all-time overcomers.

In this timely book, Symon Lubanga is blowing a distinct

trumpet, awakening believers to the reality of an ongoing battle
with the enemy. The truth is that the devil was defeated through
the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. However, the
enemy still rears his ugly head against God’s chosen ones. This
is where we need to exercise our God-given authority over him.

The reality is that as believers, we don’t fight for victory, we

fight from victory. That is to say, Christ already secured the
victory for us and we fight from that victorious place. This
means that our victory is guaranteed and already secured. This
is the mindset that every warrior in the kingdom is supposed to
have. It is a mindset of victory. It is a perspective that does not
accommodate the possibility of a defeat.

vii
This book is a clarion call to all believers to discern the seasons
and the times we are living in. As the author asserts it, we are
in a season where God is raising a set of believers who will
rise above their comfort zone and disengage the enemy from
maneuvering against the children of God. These are believers
with the spirit of a warrior. They are emissaries in the hands of
God. Friend, this is the book that will shape you into a weapon
in the hands of God.

I wish you a great read from the beginning to the end. Once
again, congratulations to the author for coming up with this
victory manual to equip believers for triumphant living in all
areas of their lives.

PREFACE

God is raising a rare breed of men, these are spirit men, these
are super humans, the spiritual giants who God foreknew,
predestined, called, justified and glorified to serve in
God’s army. These are men of valor who have passed the
commissioning parade of the heaven military service.

These are trusted soldiers who faint not even if the devil
hits them hard in the battle field. Neither do they run away
from the enemy, they face the enemy confidently, mightily,
steady and positioned to do exploits in the war zone. They
endure the pain. They understand that losing a battle is not
losing a war, their ultimate goal is to win wars and God is their
Commander-In-Chief, He always triumphs.

In the battle field, God is always with these spirit men, for
this is a promise. He writes stratagem for wars on their behalf
and they just execute as per plan. He gives them heaven made
weapons of war to fight adversary and his cohorts of darkness.
God is their shield and weapons for war. God grants them
victory.

INTRODUCTION

In the 11th Century BC, David was greatly renowned

(1 Samuel 17). David killed Goliath the giant of philistines,
and a great warrior of the time. That was the time when the
philistines came up to wage war against Saul and Goliath came
forth each day by day to challenge Israelites to a war.

People of Goliath’s calibre are still in existence today. Their duty

is to challenge the faith of God’s children and drag them to the
battlefield. The Goliaths of today put God’s people into panic
mode so that they succumb and fall from His presence. These
Goliaths are messengers of Satan, our adversary. Satan has for
all times made God a warmonger, that every time God sees His
children suffering from his attacks, He steps forth and stand in
the gap to war for His people. God triumphs ALWAYS.

True, there is a great struggle for supremacy between Satan and

the almighty God. In realizing, that he can’t win against God,
Satan reverts to war with God’s people. He masquerades as
angel of light and a messenger for various ill-sided princi-
palities, powers, and rulers of this dark age; the roaring lion
looking for someone to devour; a thief who comes to kill and
steal and destroy; as well as a catapult for spiritual wickedness
and all forces of evil manifesting in this world.

11
Satan is the reason why we hear the rumours of war
every day. He challenges God’s children to battle in all aspects
of their lives. He takes away the eternal peace of God so that
there is violence, conflicts, afflictions, temptations, massacres
and sicknesses among God’s people. He does this to weaken
their belief in God’s and frustrate God’s perfect will upon His
children.

God never rests too. He always proves to Satan and his

cohorts beyond reasonable doubt that He is the omnipotent
God. He is the mighty man in battle. He has raised a generation
of supermen, called spirit men. These are soldiers recruited,
trained, inducted and commissioned in the Heaven military
parade. This cadre of men are spiritual warriors and they are
duty bound to defend God in great contests against Satan, to
reclaim God’s territory from the hands of enemies, to save the
wounded soldiers and the lost souls in the battle field. They
are rare breed of soldiers who live righteously, and are always
strong, courageous, perseverant and focused in the battle field.

God realises that the enemy is an invisible one and he fights

back dirt and is deadly too in the battle field. He has since
drilled God soldiers in spiritual military trainings on all
the heaven army tactics to overpower the devil and his
cohorts with ease. God has also equipped His spirit men with
spiritual weapons to conquer the enemy and possess all that
belong to God. At end of it all, God expects His soldiers to
emergevictorious in the battle field and war lots of spiritual
wars.
12
At some point, God soldiers might lose a battle against the
enemy because of the hidden sins in their camp. However,
losing a battle is not the end of the story to God’s
soldiers, they keep on fighting a good fight, a fight of faith to
recover from the loss and win the war. That is what matters
more than anything else. Winning wars is a destiny for God
soldiers. It is that which God called them for, and assured them
of the victory always, for victory belongs to our Commander in
Chief, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

CHAPTER ONE

SETTING THE PACE FOR SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Since the creation, the human race has been replete with stories
of war. There is a great tussle in the spiritual worlds between
two kingdoms; the kingdom of the most High God and the
kingdom of Satan, our adversary who rebelled against God in
heaven. This is an invisible war between man and evil spiritual
forces in heavenly places, here on earth, and beneath the earth.

Satan hits God’s children with no mercy and from all fronts.
Every day we wake up, we hear rumours of war, conflicts,
violence and armed attacks. Nations are rising against nations,
if it is not nations, then it is man fighting against a fellow man.
The devil is on rampage to shake up the world and robe God’s
children of the eternal peace Jesus Christ left behind (John
14:27).

Satan and his preternatural evil forces has been a thorn in

the flesh for every believer. Satan intervenes in human affairs
through inducing of evil spirits, and/or demons that deter
one’s belief in the almightiness of God in day to day lives. In a
natural world, wars exists, and it is these natural wars that
translates into spiritual wars.

15
Spiritual wars exist in the realm of the spirit, and in all
supernatural dimensions. God, the all the powerful is the
Commander-In-Chief and Satan, our main adversary is on
revolt fighting God and His army.

The world we are living in is defined by wars and we can not

be separated from this fact, it remains true to us and this is
the truth that stands the test of time, space and distance. Paul
acknowledged this, that we really live in a world of war
(2 Corinthians 10:3-5). We are in the era of wars both
in the physical and spiritual worlds. Spiritual wars are
specifically for Christians, and to participate in spiritual wars,
Christians require sophisticated spiritual weapons that are
capable of dismantling strongholds, arguments, pretensions
and every knowledge that exalts itself higher above the
knowledge of God almighty.

As God’s children, we are in this invisible fight with Satan who

masquerades himself as the angel of light and a messenger
for various principalities, powers, and rulers of the darkness
of this world; the roaring lion looking for someone to devour;
the thief who comes to kill and steal and destroy; as well as
spiritual wickedness and spiritual forces of evil.

At one point, Satan strikes God children with disturbing

spirits in form of doubts, mental confusions, distractions,
unending temptations, wavering Christian faith, hopelessness,
lack of peace, unusual illnesses, resentments toward God and
His words, and suicidal depressions. This is the time, when it is
recognised, that the devil beckons for an engagement in
16
a spiritual war.

Warfare, whether natural or spiritual is not a form of

oppression, rather a way, and a defining season for every
Christian to live a victorious life. It should be understood
that life in God is indeed a higher life, though it requires
someone to overcome the devil and its schemes. Without
opposing forces life of a Christian can be non-starter and
meaningless.

The focus of all God children should therefore be on

devising ways on how to overcome the tempest that comes
with Satan and His children who associates themselves
with the dark world. There is uneasing battle with the
devil and his cohorts of darkness when a person renews his life
through a rebirth in God. Christians need the light of God to
triumph and rise high above the cunning character of Satan.

In such a warring world, it is also advised that as Christians we

should always be prepared for war against the devil, to fight
for our salvation, bearing in mind that one sure thing is the
belief that it is God who fights for us and He ALWAYS wins.

Warfare: Why it matters to Christians?

There is an extended contest, struggle, or great controversy

between two reigning giant kingdoms of the world. The
struggle is between the kingdom of light (God) and the
kingdom of darkness (Satan) where the former always domi-
nates in this struggle because it is His nature to always win.
17
All Christians are driven by this fact, their lives are a full
definition of the battles and battlefields. Just like in a
natural world, people wage wars emanating from life
differences. Consequently, there are battles between two
persons, between nations, between cabals, between armies and
these battles usually turn into wars in the long run. A war is a
combination of series of battles. Generally, wars have their roots
in the bible, in thebeginning because of his ego Satan started
deviating from God. Satan failed to recognise the almightiness
and sovereignty of God in heaven and as a punishment God
casted Satan down to the earth.

While on earth Satan is ever busy wrecking God’s children by

imposing onto them evil spiritual forces. Satan prowls like a
roaring lion to devour God’s children but nonetheless God also
positions them to fight back and live a higher and victorious
life in God. Without fighting back, Christians can always live
a miserable, frustrated, hopeless and a dream shattered life.
All Christians are called to participate in this struggle against
Satan.

As such, warfare whether in a natural or spiritual world is a

call to duty to each one of us as Christians, it comes as a result
of a disagreement or conflict between two parties or people of
dissent interests or views. In 1 Samuel 28, warfare is likened to
a military service, military life and/or military war.

“The Philistines gathered their armies for warfare.” 1 Samuel 28.

Warfare entails a contest, that struggle with spiritual forces,

18
the invisible enemy. “The weapons of our warfare are not
carnal.” 2 Corinthians 10.

We need to understand warfare both as a military service,

military life, military war and far above our reasoning should
go beyond that by looking at a warfare as a great contest or
struggle with enemies in both worlds; natural and spiritual.
We also need to have full knowledge that warfare is about the
battlefield, and when one is in the battlefield three things can
happen, either to move out badly wounded, dead or alive.

This is the reason all Christians need to fully grasp how high,
wide and long the subject of warfare refers and matters.
Having such knowledge alone is primal in waging spiritual
contests against the devil to overcome with ease.

The Genesis of Spiritual Warfare

We may seem to be far away from the reality, as one would

ask, “why unmasking the history of spiritual warfare” because
its definite that man lost state in the presence of God (Genesis
3:1-24). One may also think that man was reckless and solely
responsible for all mishaps around us.

However, no one is to blame for the all the havoc the devil lays
in the world. The truth is Satan started warring against God
right in the garden of Eden by deceiving Adam and Eve to
eat the forbidden fruit. The instruction Satan gave to Eve was
contrary to what God ordered them to be doing while in the
garden (Genesis 3:3).
19
Spiritual warfare started when Satan wanted to exalt himself
above the knowledge of God by deceiving Adam and Eve.
Because of that God was angry with the devil, that He imposed
stiffer punishment to Satan.

Genesis 3:14-15
“And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast
done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast
of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat
all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and
the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise
thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

Since then, Satan has been retaliating to God and His children
on earth and in Heaven in many ways especially to torment the
human race at all cost. The devil wages war against Christians
and he loves to see children of God suffer the consequences
contrary to the good will of God has upon His children.

On the same, it has to be known that since mediaeval

times, the history of battles and wars have been accounted
numerously, that the early believers were involved into
conflicts which often led to wars and intense battles. Through
out the ancient times, history has it that Israel was sometimes
at loggerheads with other kingdoms such as Judah, Egypt,
Assyria, Babylon and many more regions transcribed in the
bible.

In the book of Revelation John depicts a vivid picture of a

spiritual warfare in heaven and on earth. John gives the
20
description of a highly charged war between God and Satan,
“…when after the war in Heaven (Rev. 12:7), the beasts and
kings of the earth wage war against God’s people (Rev.19:19),
and a final battle ensues with Satan and the nations of the earth
against God himself (Rev 20:8).” So what is spiritual warfare if
not the unequaled deception of Satan to the world, that all the
happenings to Christians in the world are orchestrated by the
devil himself with all the intention to corner God children.

As Christians we need to know that we are at war and

everyday Satan drags us to the battlefield. Our enemy is
invisible, its like we are fighting the unknown enemy, the
enemy is already on the battlefield, only heavenly and front line
soldiers can overcome this enemy.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against

principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high
places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

A spiritual warfare is such an immense wave that every

Christian succumbs to, and it is hard to escape the battle
field in such warring seasons. We are not supposed to retreat
however, nor surrender until we overcome this occult
adversary tormenting believers throughout the world.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of
love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

21
True Christianity works well when we have full knowledge of
spiritual warfare, realising that the devil is on a great rampage
to the children of God. What we have on table is to set the
gait for a war. This is the knowledge that must be yearned by
every believer, the heaven made knowledge and wisdom. While
back in the high school days, we were told of historical wars, in
particular World war I & II. We didn’t know that there will
come such a time that we need to realise that everyday is war
day and we need to mastermind the art of overcoming in
battlefields.

Nevertheless did we know that these battles are different in

total entirety. In the spiritual realm, some are fighting
against evil protocols, some sicknesses, some fighting for
deliverance, some anti-marriage spirits, some spirits of
stagnation, some generational curses and bondages of various
sorts. Understanding spiritual warfare is key to dismantling all
evil agendas the devil lays before us.

Spiritual warfare is real. Very real and this is an

undisputable reality. As Christians we need the ability to
effectively plan for such wars, so we too need improved and
sophisticated weapons in our heavenly camp to suppress and
neutralise the enemy on the other side. Above all, we must
be prepared to advance while the enemy is shooting and
battle it out even in gross darkness. Its not just easy for a spirit
man if not prepared for the development of a war. We need skill
set from above, for it is God who defends His own.

22
CHAPTER TWO

THE LORD OF WAR

Warring has its root in God. But that doesn’t augment the fact
that God is happy with the dire consequences of wars. It is
agreed upon, that war is indeed evil, it is just a destroyer of life,
nations and families. Wars displace innocent people and cause,
physical, psychological and emotional discomfort. Again, the
destruction of properties, the desperate cries and killings of
innocent people, God does not like them at all. God always
intends good to the human race.

“And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh
be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there
anymore be a flood to destroy the earth.” Genesis 9:11

After the destruction that God through the waters of flood,

God vowed never again to do something to put the earth and
its inhabitants under destruction. This doesn’t exclude the art
of war though, wars become destructive both to the earth, its
structures and takes away life too. The perfect will of God is
to have a peaceful co-existence among all creatures in heaven,
under the earth and beneath the seas.

23
God attributes the existence of wars as activities of mankind
because of greed, lusts and sinful desires. “From whence come
wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of
your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye
kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet
ye have not, because ye ask not.” (James 4:1-2).

The Lord of war causeth not wars, rather it is the aftermath of the
wickedness of the world (Genesis 4:5-8, Matthew 15:19, Mark
7:21-23, Romans 3:10-18).

However, it is the anti-God culture that irritates God so much.

Such that he can’t be seated and watch the kingdom of darkness
misleading His children. In this, He always stands up to defend
His children, even if it means to war, God never minds, for He
is already the Lord of War.

(a) The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

(Exodus 15:3)
(b) For there fell down many slain, because the war was
of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the
captivity. (1 Chronicles 5:22)
(c) There is… a time to love and a time to hate, a time for
war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:8)

The Lord is just the Lord of war, He doesn’t take pleasure into
the hostilities that comes with war. God is the Lord of Hosts
(Isaiah 47:4), all the creatures in heaven and earth are under
his army.

24
The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name (Exodus 15:1-9).
The Lord is demonstrated authority of how great and almighty
He is towards His enemies. His skills for war and his stratagem
for war cannot be matched. In the battle fields, He is more than
a man, He levels down His enemies to the ground, Jehovah is
His name so mighty, powerful, and victorious. The Lord of war
is very powerful over His enemies. In the battle fields, the Lord
of war triumphs over Satan, principalities and all anti-God
powers.

His name is God, the mighty man of war, well versed with the
artistry of battle, has the incarnate weapons of warfare; the
breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, the shield
of faith, the sword of the spirit, the belt of truth, going forth
conquering and subduing enemies and destroying all their
carnal weapons. He is more than a conqueror, he is the captain
of the Lord’s host, the Commander-In-Chief of the His people
and the armies in heaven and earth, and He is the one who sits
on the throne at the helm.

25
CHAPTER THREE

THE SPIRIT LIFE OF A WARRIOR

By the virtue of being Christians, we are all called for the

heavenly military service to defend God in great contests
against Satan. At some point the devil will drag and hurl
us big time, until we feel like God is no longer with us. Yes,
until we feel hopeless, broken, defeated and watch ourselves
knuckled under the miseries Satan and his messengers of
darkness impinges on us.

What shall we do then in such intriguing seasons of our lives?

Are we ready to fight the enemy back not physically but in
the spirit? Are we called, qualified, fortified, sanctified and
equipped with the weapons of spiritual warfare? For it is well
written that:

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty
through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down
imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the
knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to
the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all
disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians
10:3-6)
27
The spirit life of a warrior demands the disjointed cognition of
who our real enemy is, in our case Satan and his followers. Far
ahead this noesis is the how to use spiritual weapons while in
the battlefield to overcome the devil.

Cognisant of the devil dangerous schemes, a warrior must be

able to use different weapons at different levels of warfare. In
what he considered to be the final remarks to the people of
Ephesus, Paul urged believers to put on the whole armor of
God knowing believers fight with the devil rages on stronger
and stronger everyday (Ephesians 6:10-18). The full armor of
God is a full kit of warfare artillery in the battlefield; from the
belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, gospel of peace on
the feet, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, word of the spirit
to a fervent prayer.

We all know, that Paul was an ambassador of God in chains

(bonds) called forth to proclaim the gospel of Christ to the
gentiles. As a warrior himself, he also envisaged that upon
receiving Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, the
people of Ephesus will be prone to battles of various fatum
orchestrated by the devil to suffocate their belief in God.

Albeit this, Paul couldn’t leave the Ephesians without equip-

ping them with the weapons of warfare to cement their faith
in God so that they may be able to stand tall, strong and solid
against the trickeries of the devil, against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians. 6:12).

28
Paul laid these weapons of warfare to a spirit man
deliberately upon the realisation that He is called for war in
most cases unknowingly. Satan drags children of God most
often by surprise. Paul believed that a spirit man should
always put on the armor of God and leverage the
weapons contained therein while in the battlefield at different
levels of warfare. Therefore, understanding the dynamics
of battlefield at each level of warfare is key determinant for
selecting the weapons in the armor of God to use for war.

The spirit life of a warrior to further say is premised on the five

levels of warfare; planning for a spiritual warfare, advancing in
the battlefield, fighting, overcoming and sustaining the victory,
or losing the battle and recovery from a lost battle. Importantly,
Paul made clear in his valedictory to Ephesians is the wrestle
against wickedness in high places. These are places where we
cannot reach physically. As Christians, we need to be conscious
of such places where our common enemy wages his war. We
need to know how the devil operates on different grounds of
warfare.

However, one thing is certain for us Christians and that we are

all called for this warfare against the devil. More so, it should
be made known that some are specially called to lead the
process. The spirit man (heavenly soldier) as always must be
case, possesses certain traits. Not every soldier is qualified for
war, spiritual wars are for the spirit man with a spirit life.

“And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee
are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands,
29
lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand
hath saved me” (Judges 7:2)

It is the hand of God that saves, and such being the case,
God’s doesn’t need a large army to win battles. God instructed
Gideon that the soldiers he had for war against Midianites
were just too many, and He needed only a handful of them.
The fearful and afraid in the battlefield [mount Gilead] must
return home. Twenty and two thousands soldiers left the camp,
only ten thousands soldiers remained. Still more, God said
the number is too big, and He instructed Gideon to bring the
mighty men down to the river for another test to qualify into
God’s military service.

Only three hundred men qualified for the war against

Midianites. These were men who drunk water by lapping with
their tongue like a dog. “Every one that lappeth of the water
with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself ”
(Judges 7:5b). Again, these three hundred men were enough for
God triumph against midianites, and they triumphed! From
a spirit man with spirit life [heavenly warrior], God demands
activeness and ever-readiness for the war.

Drinking water by lapping with the tongue, like what the

three hundred soldiers did, is a sign that they were ready for
battle even if the enemy takes them by surprise. These kind of
soldiers can be trusted.

30
Spirit man and his spirit life

Who is the spirit man? What is his spirit life? A spirit man is
Gods soldier, born of God to be a commander in God’s army.
The spirit life of a spirit man is God’s disciplined character
among the rest, receptive of God instructions in battlefield and
executing them as per God’s war plan. Spirit life of a warrior
entails possessing a certain character to qualify as a soldier in
God’s army. Many are called for the spiritual warfare, but few
are willing to take up the calling to the end.

The war between Israel and Midianites in Judges 7:4 led by

Gedion, recounts that of the many possible soldiers (30,000)
that could have gone for war, only a handful (300) were
taken to fight against the Midianites. Traditional thinking,
tells us that many soldiers found themselves in the military
service due to various reasons; some would say it is mandatory
in their country to join the military in service of their countries,
some would say it was the only job I found, and some will even
say my parents forced me to join the army. Can we say these
soldiers are called for the military service? Obviously no! And
such soldiers can not be trusted in God’s military service, for
they are not spirit men.

A spirit man is a trusted and devoted God soldier laying his or

her life on the line in the battle field for the common good of
God’s children. Jesus Christ is our greatest spirit man, the chief
commander in God’s military service.

31
A spirit man suffers for the common good, is selfless, lives
more of others, less of him or herself. This is made manifest in
2 Samuel 10:12, where spirit men are advised to be strong, and
to fight bravely for their people and the cities of the living God.
And the Lord will do what is good in his sight” A spirit man is
also faithful to His master, entangles not to the affairs of men,
is strong and mighyt in battle, a spirit man encourages, gives
hopes, fears not, perseveres and endures persecution and has a
strong belief in God’s and all His ways.

This is exactly, what Paul said in 2 Timothy 2:4, that “join me

in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. A soldier refrains
from entangling himself in civilian affairs, in order to please the
one who enlisted him” NKJV.

Convincingly, a spirit man has a different spirit life and with

exceptional qualities that sets him apart from the rest of worldly
soldiers. The spiritual characteristics of a God soldier include;

(a) They are strong, powerful and mighty in battle. God

always girds the spirit men with strength for battle to
subdue enemies that rise against them (Psalm 18:23)
(b) Fearless, bold and confident in the battle field; for this
is an advice from God in Deuteronomy 31:6
(c) They are faithful to God and His promises; they are dili
gent to God’s work assigned to them in the battlefield
(d) They are sanctified before God, for God hates the
unrighteous and punishes for it.
(e) They are servants in making, for they can lead their fel
low soldiers in the battle field, train new soldiers for war,
32
patient when wronged and gently corrects others when
they err.
(f) They are obedient, always pay attention to God’s instruc
tion in the battle field. Simply they understand the con
sequences of swerving away from God’s instructions
(g) They are always alert for war in the battle field. They
don’t sleep on their duty assigned to them by God.

33
CHAPTER FOUR

BECOMING PART OF GOD’S ARMY

Day by day the world is no longer at ease than ever before.

Satan has taken the whole world into captivity. The human race
is experiencing a great upsurge of the agonies all perpetrated
by the Satan and and his agents. Our adversary, the devil is
sleepless until he does something evil to make the righteous fall
from God’s grace (Proverbs 4:16) . The devil sees to it that there
is always violence, conflicts, wars, famine, droughts, various
forms of sufferings, disorder and pandemics in the world. All
this, the devil does to inflict Christians so that they can swerve
away from the belief in the Most High God.

Pre-supposedly, God knows all the plans of the devil, he comes

to kill, steal and destroy God’s people through disorder in
the world. However, God is not just sitting and watching this
happen to His children. He is always raising spirit men who
are fit to wrestle with Satan and His cohorts of darkness. God
is nurturing a rare breed of spiritual giants to defend Him in
spiritual warfare. Until today, the work ahead to overpower
the devil is so much great. Satan orchestrates so much evils to
God’s children. God is a need of a great army, both in numbers
and quality to be deployed in the Heaven military service.

35
At once, Jesus Said “The harvest truly is great, but the labourers
are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would
send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I
send you forth as lambs among wolves” Luke 10:2

God wants soldiers in the military service to fight and defend

him against enemies. God wants all Christians to be part of His
army so that they can leverage His power in the battle field.
Considering the few spirit men in His army, God is calling on
all to serve in the heaven’s military service and save the masses
of souls from distruction by the devil.

By the virtue of being Christians, we are all enlisted to be part

of God’s army. We are called to fight and defeat our real enemy
Satan, the liar and deceiver from the beginning of the world.
We are called forth to lay hold on the dragon, that old serpent,
which is the Devil, and Satan, bound him a thousand years,
and cast him out into the lake of fire for eternity (Revelation
20:2; 20:10). Christians as God soldiers, our call to answer is to
fight for God, negate all evil forces and defend the sovereignty
of God against Satan. God soldiers are bound to this task, and
nothing else. God soldiers have a kingdom to guard jealously
and protect from intruders.

On the same, them that are enlisted in God’s army must always
know where the devil operates from. The knowledge of vari-
ous battle grounds is essential and very key in defending God
and His kingdom. Very often, our enemy masterminds all the
battle fields. Our enemy realises that most God’s children are
weak in mind thus why he fights from the spheres of weakening
36
our faith by cementing spirit of doubts, fear and great unbelief.

More to being inducted to God’s army is the willingness of a

Christian to serve God even in difficult situations, self sacrifice
for God’s service and ability to bear the costs that comes in
serving the God’s army. Being a spiritual warrior often requires
great discipline, belief and an ultimate forfeiture. A spiritual
warrior must lose him or herself for God’s military service.

He or she must fight a good fight, a fight of faith to liberate

God’s children from the chains of Satan and constantly bring
them to the great experiences of God’s blessings, love, joy and
peace. The role of God’s soldiers in the heaven army is to push
aside the enemy and let God’s children have their way to the
promised and glorious days through out their lives in Christ.

Becoming part of God’s army is either by God calling or

personal commitment to serve God in the military service and
save Christians from Satan. However, the former matters most,
as it is a destiny in God. And to be self listed in the God’s army
is a huge sacrifice attached to it as a true God soldiers lays his
life on the line of death for the great and common good.

Jesus Christ, a son of God and a chief warrior laid his life on the
cross for the salvation of the world (1 John 3:16; John 10:18).
Paul, a God soldier in chains said “for me to live is Christ,
to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21). This is a spirit for any true
God’s warrior, living and fighting for the sake of other people,

37
while putting aside all the personal egos and desires. A true
God soldier in the heaven army doesn’t consider his or her life,
the salvation of God’s children matters most.

Actually, there are always a series of events for one to

be enlisted and become part of God’s army. Every God’s
soldier passes through a certain personal process or his
or her people went through some unpleasant situations
that made him rise to defend them and let God save them.

(a) Noah was enlisted in God’s army after God noticed the
gross wickedness of people in the land (Genesis 6:1-13; Mathew
24:37-39). God used Noah to save the few righteous people
and let the wicked ones perish with the flood. The weapon that
God used to save the God’s righteous people was Noah’s Ark.

(b) God deployed Moses into His army to liberate the

people of Israel from the hands of merciless Pharaoh
(Exodus 1-20). This came at a time the Israelites of great
sufferings in the hands of Egyptians. God gave Moses, the
rod of authority as a weapon of liberating God’s people from
Pharaoh.

(c) Joshua too was enlisted by God as the army

commander for the people of Israel on the way to
Canaan. This was after the death of Moses. Joshua led
the people of Israel in wars against Jericho and the
Midianites, and in all they emerged as victors as God was
with them.

38
(d) God enlisted Gideon into His army through an angel, “…
he said, ‘The LORD is with you, mighty warrior”. Judges 6:13.
Gideon was called by God to serve in His army as a
commander in a fight against the Midianites. Despite
ranting about his weaknesses, God strengthened Gideon and
promised to be with Him in his pursuit to strike the Midianites
together (Judges 6:14-16).

(e) David enlisted himself in God’s army (1 Samuel 17). This

came after noting how the notorious philistine challenged and
defied the God of the armies of Israel in the valley of Elah.

(f) God gave Jesus Christ as the army commander for the Lords
army. Jesus Christ the anointed one has the power to lift all the
sufferings of Christians caused by Satan. Jesus Christs dwells
richly in God soldiers and makes them more than conquerors.
Jesus Christ conquered everything even death. The Lord Jesus
Christ stands before His Church as the commander-in-chief of
heaven’s armies. Jesus Christ is our army commander, he sends
every weapon God’s soldiers need to triumph through storms,
fire, sicknesses and every form of adversity. With Jesus the chief
captain, we are well covered up in the battlefield.

(g) On the road to Damascus to continue persecuting

Christians, Paul was called to God’s army service as a soldier
in chains to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world (Acts
9:1-19; 22:6-21; 26:12-18).

In a spiritual world God enlists warriors to fight against

all wickedness in the dark and heavenly places. Biblically,
39
it has been a norm for God to choose soldiers for a
spiritual warfare considering the fact that Satan has always
waged war against Him. Therefore, becoming a part of God’s
army entails a call to duty in a spiritual warfare. Added to this,
it is the expectation of God that once He enlists soldiers for
war, He shifts the responsibilities of recruiting other soldiers
for a spiritual warfare to army commanders.

As such God soldiers must bring in God’s soldiers in the camp.

In the bible, we see Andrew brought his brother to the ministry
of Jesus Christ (John 1:35-42). Philip also brought Nathaniel to
serve in God’s camp. After a setback among the twelve apostles,
when Judas Iscariot hanged himself because of how guilty he
felt in betraying Jesus Christ, the remaining apostles replaced
him with Matthias (Acts 1:12-26). An army commander in the
God’s military service must be able to recruit other soldiers
anytime a soldier is lost in the battlefield.

Becoming part of God’s army means ready to endure the

hardships spiritual warfare comes with. Paul was termed as
a good soldier. He was imprisoned, stoned, shipwrecked,
beaten, and placed in dungeons, yet he fainted not amidst
these adversity, he fought a good fight, a fight of faith to the
end. He fought for his ultimate prize in God (1 Timothy4:7).

On the same, becoming part of God’s army means choosing

to be an all time fighter. A God soldiers fights during the day,
during the night, just every time fighting against the devil.
Being a God soldier means not tolerating enemies. An enemy
is an enemy and can not be collaborated with in the battle field.
40
The enemy only comes to spy your camp and steals your shine
in the war.

Becoming part of the Lord’s army means believing in the

common cause of Christ, and nothing else. Believing that he
is the saviour of the world and fighting for this cause that it
should not be sabotaged by Satan and his agents. For this is a
noble cause, and a spiritual warrior must defend this cause, no
matter what.

Finally, my brethren, as we have chosen to be part of God’s

army, lets fall face down to the ground in reverence of
Jesus, our Lord and supreme Commander of our Army. In
honour and humility we lift our hands and eyes towards him,
and trust His Holy presence in the battle field. He draws a sword
for battle. In our camp, we don’t stress, we have God who goes
before us, He fights for us and grants us an amicable victory.

41
CHAPTER FIVE

UNDERSTANDING SPIRITUAL BATTLEFIELDS

A battlefield is a place of warfare. “David’s army left for the

battlefield to fight Absalom and his Israeli followers, and they
also fought in the Ephraim forest” 2 Samuel 18:6. A battlefield
is place of risking lives for the common good of our families,
societies, nations and for the world. “Zebulun was a people
risking their lives, Naphtali also, on the heights of the battlefield.”
Judges 5:18

A battlefield is also a zone where enemies are challenged

for a war. After King Amaziah of Judah consulted with his
advisers, he sent this message to the king of Israel, Joash son of
Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, “Come, face me on the battlefield…
So King Joash of Israel attacked. He and King Amaziah of
Judah faced each other on the battlefield in Beth Shemesh of
Judah.” 2 Chronicles 25:17.

In some instances, a battlefield is a place of sustaining deep

wounds, the place of fatalities and a death bed for armed forces.
David continued questioning him, “How did things go? Please
tell me!” He replied, “The army has fled the battlefield, many
of the army are wounded or have died, and Saul and his son
Jonathan are also dead.” 2 Samuel 1:4
43
A battlefield is a place of war formation or lining up for battle, a
place of victory to some, to some a place of defeat or downfall.
“The Philistines lined up in battle formation against Israel, and
as the battle intensified, Israel was defeated by the Philistines,
who struck down about 4,000 men on the battlefield.” 1 Samuel
4:2. It is a place where God executes judgement against nations
for every evil committed. He executes judgment against the
nations; he fills the valleys with corpses; he shatters their heads
over the vast battlefield. Psalm 110:6

In military, battlefields are defined as areas of tactical

confrontations deployed to confront and conquer adversaries.
In spiritual warfare, we have battlefields from which the spirit
man wages war against the adversaries.

Spiritual warfare begins in the heart, and the mind is the

strongest battleground.

(a) Battlefields for a spirit man

As spirit men, our noble question is “where are our battlefields?”

and who is supposed to fight in specific types of the battlefield?
Battlefields are places of war, and they come in various types.
Importantly, every God soldier must know all the places for
battle. This is key to triumphing against the enemy during the
war.

There is a group of trained soldiers to handle the enemy on

land, the group of soldiers fighting on the land is called
Infantry
44
Land is a specific terrain a good soldier must master. In this
case one special ingredient a soldier must master is the terrain.
To master the terrain, a God soldier must be able to conduct a
“terrain analysis” before positioning in the battlefield to look
for potential obstacles in the field.

Terrain is categorised into two; first Physical terrain, which

focuses on elements like, what are my no go zones in the land,
slow go zones and go zones

In physical terrain analysis soldiers look at elements that can

render the terrain a no go zone, slow go zone and a go zone.
The physical terrain of the battlefield can be roads, rivers, hilly
areas, swamps and marshes.

In the battlefield, all no go zones are avoided and slow go zones

bring problems in fighting our adversaries. Soldiers use only go
zones to advance, confront and conquer the enemies.

Although the term implies that battles are typically fought on the
land or in a field – an open stretch of level ground – it also applies
to any type of terrain on which a battle is fought. Battles can be
fought on land, at the sea and in the air. In warfare, battles are
fought on different fronts, for varying reasons, and with
different degrees of intensity but the meeting point is the
battle place from whence war is waged. Warfare is not
mentioned without a battlefield.

45
In a spiritual battlefield, we are all in the frontline encompassed
by enemies at some point. Our war is not a physical one, it is
a spiritual one requiring a spiritual battlefield. As Christians,
we are in a spiritual battle of some sort on a daily basis and the
devil also drags us to the battlefield for a war.

What matters to soldiers in the God’s military service is the

in-depth knowledge of battlefields in various terrains (land,
sea, air or sky) where the enemy is waging a war. Knowing
where the enemy fights from is key to triumph in the battle.
Key lessons from the eagle! The eagle fights the battle not in the
enemy territory, the eagle always fights in his territory which
is the air or sky. The eagle knows for sure that enemy territory
is deadly, and all it does to take the enemy high up in the sky
[its territory], where the enemy becomes weak and defenceless.
The key question is, as a heavenly soldier, and in God’s military
service, do your know the terrains where you can fight your
battles for victory.

(b) Spiritual battlefields, Oases of serenity amid chaos

Despite the hullabaloo, the helter-skelter, the unsaid agonies,

mental confusion and nullification, the tumult and the hurly
burly to God soldiers in the battle field, a spirit man must still
find hope for a way out of a great struggle against the enemy.

The spiritual battlefield is a valley death, the spiritual battle

field takes the life of God’s soldiers, sad to say, but this remains
the wisdom that has transcended beyond both distance, time
and distortion, the spiritual battle field is a death bed.
46
Hello, spirit men, and fellow God soldiers, here is the good
news for you from Psalmist David and a spirit man of all times;

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I

will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they
comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of
mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth
over” (Psalm 23:4-5)

As a spirit man, and a God made soldier, always bear in mind,

that the spiritual battle field is a valley of death, and you are
called to trans pass through it, however, fear not, for God is
taking you there not to harm you but to use you for the war
ministry to defend His people. It is in that place of war, God
will grant you victory in all endeavors for the kingdom service.

Again, my fellow God soldiers, and spirit men, I wish to

bring a message of hope to you. The assignment to serve in
God’s army is worth taking, its after benefits and the glory of
latter days is so much great to you. Jesus Christ, he himself
demonstrated to the world, amidst of intriguing seasons of
life, always keep calm, for there is God almighty, who is your
mighty man in battle, your mighty warrior, the God of all
armies in His kingdom.

“And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into
the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the
stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him,
“Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke
and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!”
47
And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm”.
(Mark 4:37–39)

While you will be in the battle field, in search for victory

and wrestling for your own life, there will come times, when
the enemy will attack and strike you hard, and you will have
nowhere to run to, you will feel helpless and you will doubt if
God cares for you. However, I urge you always remain strong
in those times, and ask Jesus Christ to quench all the fires you
are facing, to relieve you from great pains, to strengthen you in
the storming times.

Learn from Jesus Christ and his ways of mastering the battle
field, have peace with you as the chaos breaks out around you.

My fellow spirit men, I also wish to let you know, that God
is your salvation amid chaos and He is always with you. He
is your light and your salvation, keep calm in the battlefield
“the LORD is my light and my salvation - so why should I be
afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so
why should I tremble?” Psalm 27:1.

While in the battle field my fellow God soldiers, I say to you,

always keep calm, and hold your peace, God will work out
salvation for you. “And Moses said to the people, fear not, stand
firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you
today” Exodus 14:13.

Finally, amid chaos, there you find your hope for victory,
victory belongs to Jesus Christ, for He is your chief warrior.
48
Faint not in the spirit, God is taking care of moment in the
battle field, and remember for God has not given you a spirit of
fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind to overcome
no matter the circumstances. God is God and is always mighty
in battle (2 Timothy 1:7).

(c) Spiritual battlefields at glance

A quick look at the battle fields will unveil the fact that
battling ground come in various forms, some of the areas are
battlegrounds without our knowledge. What should be kept
in the heart is the fact that the devil cannot be trusted by any
means, and is able to make everything as weapons of war and
everywhere as places of war.

As a spirit man, take it to your knowledge that the devil will

attack you from all directions and all angles, every place is a
battle field. However, the bible has it in record, that ancient
battles occurred in many places like in mountain tops, in the
valleys, on the sea, in the heavenly places, flat stretch of lands,
and even in the homes. So every place can be a battle ground.

“And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods
are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let
us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger
than they.” 1 Kings 20:23

Before hell broke loose between God and Satan, we learn that
Satan was a God trusted angel, but what made him separate
with God was pride, deception and the quest to have more
49
authority than God. God saw this, and as a punishment, God
casted Satan and his angels down on earth to rule in some way.

“And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with
the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did
not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.
So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the
Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the
earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:7-9

Until today, Satan and his angels rule the world. Satan is the
god of the hills, the planes, and perhaps the sea. The spirit man
must understand this, and that he or she should be prepared to
fight for God in all the terrains. That is, when the enemy is on
the mountain top, fight in the plain, when the enemy is on the
plain, fight from the hills.

Again, you will meet some enemies who will require you to
shoot from the sky, and some enemies will require you wage
war in the great and merciless waters.

50
CHAPTER SIX

WEAPONS OF WARFARE

God cannot trust spirit men without preparing them for the
task at hand [warfare]. Above all, God fully blazons the spirit
man with all the necessary weapons for the warfare. Dealing
with spiritual forces in the heavenlies and rulers of this dark age
is not a light task that can be approached with teetotal mindset.

The enemy before us is dangerous and deadly, he sometimes

masters and rules the battlefield at our disappointments, to
lure us into the world of hopelessness, restlessness and horrific
fear. The battle before us is army against army, and the army
advanced in every sense of their weaponry is the one that
triumphs.

“...behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of

Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines.”
(1 Samuel 17:23)

In battlefield, we are meeting finest soldiers from both armies,

trained and passed through various warfare tests to stand
the heat of war in extreme times. Remember! This was the
time Israel and Philistines put the battle into array and a full
public show.
51
A war between Israel and philistines bring outs the notion
that to be a front line soldier, one requires to wear full kit of
weapons from the head to toe.

King Saul, doubted the prowess of David to face the giant

[Goliath] with human face. Saul insisted that before taking step
into the war zone, David should put on the weapons of war, he
[Saul] himself puts every time he goes to war.

“And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet
of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail.
And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to
go.” (1 Samuel 17:38-39)

Even though, David reproved this war attire, this was

indispensable for him, if he was to defeat the champion of the
Philistines, who also on his part as the trusted soldier, in his
own attire for war and also equipped with every weapon for
the warfare.

In the battlefield, Goliath was advancing with a shield, a spear

and a sword while defying the God of the mighty and great
Israel.

David too was advancing with a sling and stone in the hands
praising the God of Israel who numerous times delivered him
from deadly wild beasts, with full confidence that God will
again give him [David] similar testimony against Goliath.
Perhaps, the greatest weapon that David had with him was God
Himself, for it is only God who saves without a sword and spear.
52
Despite the fact that Goliath succumbed to death by a stone
on his forehead, that doesn’t dispute the construct that as a
warrior, he exercised total dominion in the battlefield, he was
a thorn in the flesh to the Israelites, spectacular, fearless and
mighty in the battlefield. How the bible describes Goliath, it
is well said that from the mediaeval times and in war history
there has never been such a warrior of Goliath calibre.

“…was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four
and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot: and he also
was the son of the giant” (1 Chronicles 2:6).

The world today is the state of warfare in making for every

child of the Most High God. We are living in a world where
believers are encompassed by giants in every side. This calls
for a spirit man to have all the necessary weapons of warfare to
conquer giants in the battlefield. And the weapons of warfare
for a spirit are mighty and powerful in the battlefield specifically
designed to win spiritual battles. Spiritual battles require spiritual
weapons if God’s soldiers are to chant for victory in the
battlefield.

The enemy that spirit men fight with is an invisible one and is
only conquered through invisible weapons and military tactics.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty
through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down
imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the
knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought
53
to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge
all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Corinthians
10:4-6)

Spiritual weapons of war protects both the physical and

spiritual being from being hurt by the enemy. Spiritual weapons
of war guards a spirit man from the attacks of the body, soul,
and spirit (thoughts, intents and mind). Weapons of warfare
sets the pace for triumph against the enemy. Bearing this in
mind, it is always envisaged that a spirit man must always have
the following weapons of warfare and the requisite knowledge
to effectively use them in the battlefield against the enemy;

1. The Rod of Authority

God works in mysterious ways mostly. His ways are not mans
ways and He always act by surprise to a man. What we have at
our disposal and in our hands is what God asks from us that He
may show us such a great miracle.

“And the Lord said unto him, what is that in thine hand? And his
said, A rod” (Exodus 4:2)

Moses didn’t knew that in his hand, he was holding the

“weapon of liberation” of the people of Israel from the
merciless hands of Pharaoh in the land of Egypt. God trusted
Moses as His messenger to Pharaoh and a liberator for people
of Israel to free them from all sorts of hardships in Egypt and
herald them to Canaan, the land which God promised to be
their dwelling place. The task God laid before Moses was a wary,
54
for God was first required to conquer the stubbornness of King
Pharaoh to let His people flee free.

God fortified the rod in the hands of Moses and made it

the weapon of liberation, with it Moses performed great
signs and wonders in the presence of Pharaoh to take off his
obstinacy and let go the people of Israel to the promised land.

“...and though shalt take this rod in thine, wherewith thou shalt
do signs” (Exodus 4:17).

The rod in Moses’ hand was a rod of authority, and a weapon

of warfare to subdue Pharaoh for him to let loose the people
of Israel. Moses, with the rod conquered the enemy greatly in
many instances;

“Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and before his
servants, it shall become a serpent” (Exodus 7:10).

The war began, in retaliation, king Pharaoh called all the wise
men, sorcerers, magicians to do their enchantments. They
all cast down their rods, and they become serpents, however,
amazingly Moses’ [Aaron’s] serpent swallowed them all.

This is how Moses and His brother Aaron won the battle of
serpents. In life, there also comes a time and season, when
as believers we have experienced a God’s miracle, the enemy
shrugs off does a similar thing to play down our faith in God.
But one thing to remember, is what have the rod of authority
swallow every of their pride.
55
So great a God as the God of Israel, with the rod, the great
God also instructed Moses to stretch and smite upon the
streams, ponds, pools of water and rivers and all the waters
become blood in sight of Pharaoh [enemy], and the water
became undrinkable. (Exodus 7:17-19)

Aaron also stretched out his hand with the rod, he smote the
dust of the earth, it became lice throughout the land of Egypt.
(Exodus 8:17).

Moses stretched forth his rod towards the heavens, the Lord
sent thunder and hail, with rain of fire upon the land of Egypt
(Exodus 9:23)

Moses stretched the rod to the east, and in the morning the east
winds brought locusts in the land of Egypt (Exodus 10:13)

“But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea,
and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground
through the midst of the sea.” (Exodus 14:16).

The rod of authority is a weapon rarely used by most of the

heavenly warriors in the battlefield. Nevertheless, this doesn’t
undermine its effectiveness in the battlefield. The rod of
authority as a weapon of warfare renders total despair to
enemies in the battlefield.

The rod of authority is such a weapon that sends deadly

serpents to smite our enemies, it turns enemy waters into blood
[poison] making it undrinkable that they may die of thirst
56
in the battlefield. The rod of authority sends thunders and hails
of fire to enemies that they may burn in the battlefield.

The rod of authority is a deadly weapon in the battlefield.

Through lice, frogs, locusts and boils enemies are not at ease in
the battlefield, they suffer from exhilarating pains, broken forth
and compassed in every side to let loose of God’s people.

Above all, the rod of authority makes a way for heavenly

warriors where there is no way for the bewilderment of the
enemies who are pursuing them. The sanctity, prowess
and effectiveness of the rod of authority in liberating God’s
people in various bondages remained unmatched and
unequaled.

The rod of authority works perfectly to people who are caged in

by the power of witchcrafts, their destinies are bound by witch-
es and wizards, those who are bound to spirit of stagnation and
spirit of limitations.

2. Battle Axe

History has it that, for an African living in primitive areas, a

battle axe [Chibonga] has always been used as a weapon for
hunting wild animals. Biblically, a battle axe is a weapon of war.

“Thou art my battle ax and weapons of war: for with thee

will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy
kingdoms;” (Jeremiah 51:20)

57
God is referring to a spirit man as His battle ax and a weapon
of war. With this ax, God subdues and destroys kingdoms. The
battle ax is a weapon of destruction. The battle ax destroys all
messengers of evil and all his cohorts in the dark world. The
battle ax is a mercenary in the battlefield, the battle ax conquers
the greatest.

In a spiritual warfare, the battle ax is mostly used when the

enemy keeps on the pursuing the people whom God has
saved. A battle ax is for soldiers who can’t put up the fight even
when God has delivered His children and granted them the
victory. In such times, God has no option other than taking
up the battle ax and render the total destructions to the
pursuers.

3. Jaw bone of an Ass

A jaw bone of an ass is such a live and deadly ammunition for

war. Samson used it to massacre thousands of philistines at a
place called Ramathlehi.

“And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand,
and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith. And Samson
said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw
of an ass have I slain a thousand men.” (Judges 15:15-16)

A jaw bone of an ass is a weapon of great deliverance in the

battlefield.

The jaw bone of an ass is commonly used when the enemies

58
encompass the heavenly warriors, binds the warrior with
various chords, to so that they make no further movements,
until they feel helpless and restless. This is a weapon in dire
need for God’s deliverance and victory in the battlefield.

Samson was all alone in the battlefield, when thousands of

philistines surrounded him, bound him with chords. It took
the holy spirit to burn the chords with fire and let him loose.

God provided the jaw bone of an ass immediately as a defence

weapon in the fight against philistines. With the jaw bone of an
ass, Samson slew a thousand men in the battlefield. You want
to destroy the enemies in thousands, use the jaw bone of an
ass, for a thousand of men shall fall by it in every Ramathlehi
of your life.

4. A sling and stone

This is a weapon for overcoming the giants on the road to the

desired destination. God mightily uses men who could sling
the stones and not miss the target; “…every one could sling
stones at an hair breadth and not miss” (Judges 20:16).

The bible also says “So David prevailed over the philistine with
a sling and with a stone, and smote the philistine and slew him,
but there was no sword in the hand of David”. (1 Samuel 17:50).

In a spiritual battlefield, the creativity of God’s wisdom can

not be competed against. The enemy will cling to the tradition
weapons of war like shields, swords and spears.
59
The enemy will advance with such weapons with a belief to
overcome.

However, this was very different with David. God inspired

to David differently, that a sling and stone will be enough for
him to conquer Goliath. This shows the novelty of God in the
battlefield to conquer enemies.

A spirit man is a slinger who is able to bind a stone in a sling,

casts and smite without missing the target. A sling and a stone
is a weapon of surprise in the battlefield.

It is commonly used to hit and slew giants who undermines

and defy the prowess of God in the battlefield like the case of
Goliath. A sling and a stone is used to render a surprise defeat
soldiers who challenge the unchallenged and Almighty God.

5. A battle cry

Traditionally, crying is perceived as an emotional response to

hurt, pain or grief, and feeling sorrow, or beatific. Undoubtedly,
all have at once cried in the history of mankind, sometimes its
normal to cry, because one gets away with such a sad feeling.
Sometimes, its atypical to cry, because it is expressed as an act
of weakness.

Crying is just an ordinary script, acted by different ordinary

actors in different scenes and at different stage settings.

An ordinary cry, however, is different from a battle cry.

60
In making, a battle cry is purposed for war to orchestrate
victory against the opponent. A battle cry is a shout made by
soldiers in the battle. This is a war cry, cheer, call, whoop, a yell
or chant taken up in battle, usually by members of the same
combatant group or soldiers in battle.

A battle cry, perhaps a loud shout is a weapon a spirit man

uses in the battlefield to rise against and overcome the of the
opponent during the warfare.

However, unlike other weapons of war, the use of a battle cry,

chanting or shouting in the battlefield is dependent upon the
obedience to God’s instruction in the warfare ground and spirit
of discernment. Sometimes, a battle cry is seen as a spirit of
confusion in the battle field, to some extent the chantings of
victory against the enemy.

“And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted,
he said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp. And he
said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is
it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of
them that sing do I hear”. (Genesis 32:17-18).

A spirit man must always take heed of the voice of triumph and
obeying every God instruction to successful use a battle cry as
a weapon of warfare.

With a loud shout, Joshua conquered Jericho to have a way

through to their promised land. A loud shout is a cry [voice] of
triumph, for by it the walls of Jericho collapsed.
61
Then the LORD said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered
Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men.
... When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have
all the people give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will
collapse and the people will go up, every man straight in.”
(Joshua 6:1-5)

When the king of Jericho, thought that the people of Israel will
not have their way through to Canaan in their city just because
of a wall, God did such a great a thing to let the people of Israel
pass through. God instructed Joshua, to use a battle cry [loud
shout] to defeat the people of Jericho.

The instruction was simple, “ let all soldiers compass around

the city, match around the city for six days. On the seventh day,
seven priests before an ark, with seven trumpets and horns,
march around the city seven times, blast the trumpets and make
a loud shout, and the wall collapsed”

At the following of this instruction Israel emerged as a victor

against the people of Jericho. That per say, a battle cry [loud
shout] is an effective weapon for the warfare, however, for a
spirit man, to use this weapon, one must be a hearer and abider
to God’s didactics.

6. Floods

As in ancient days like in the times of Noah, floods were used

as a weapon of destruction against wickedness that reigned
supreme in the land.
62
The wish of God is to see His children live up to a holy,
consecrated and sanctified life. God is against any form of
wickedness and by living wickedly the end result is eternal
condemnation and damnation, and this attracts a well deserved
punishment for the believers.

In new testament, Jesus Christ constantly reminded all

believers that they should repent or perish. Yes, repent or
perish! This is still the take home message for people of our
times. As old as the days of Adam and Eve “repent or perish”
has been the ingeminate and earnest declaration by the Father
himself, his Son Jesus Christ, and their authorized representa-
tives, the prophets, pastors, apostles, and teachers of the word.

A flood is a weapon of great destruction in times of rampant

evils. unlike other weapons in the God armory, no spirit man
is allowed to use this weapon because of its great danger to
the planet earth. This is the weapon our father, God uses to
demolish our enemies who despises his instruction to live up
to a holy life.

“And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth,

to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under
heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.”
Genesis 6: 17

There comes a time in life when enemies subject us to

various sorts of evils, and then our faith wrestles in disbelief, as
to whether God is with us or He falls on His promise to be with
us always.
63
However, this is a time a spirit man can pray to God to fall great
waters for enemies to retreat and surrender in the battlefield. It
is the flood of God that stands in our gap to drown all enemies
that come in plenty to inflict us with all manner of evil.

7. Light of God

The light of God shines upon us all, it is the light that

overcomes darkness.

“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness

comprehended it not” John 1:5.

To this light, all believers arise and shines, in dark moments,

for it comes with God’s glory in our ways and even in extreme
times.

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is
risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon
thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee” Isaiah 60:1-2.

This is the light of God, it leads our way through to places where
we conquer for God, it reaches to all those places where victory
for the children of God is guaranteed.

Acts 9 tells us that on the road to Damascus, Paul was stopped

on his path—figuratively! Jesus apparently subdued Paul and
his compeer by using a blinding light.
64
Hearing a voice from heaven, along with the powerful light
blast, an astonished Paul perceived someone saying, “Saul,
Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” (Acts 9:4).

The light of God is a blinding weapon of war. A spirit man uses

the light of God to arise and shine before enemies in the bat-
tlefield.

The light of God blinds the eyes of our enemies, its powerful
blasting light leaving the soldiers in the enemy camp sightless.
And this gives a spirit man an easy ride to pounce back on ene-
mies and defeat them. The light of God strikes mightily amidst
darkness.

8. The fire of God

“Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire;
into deep pits, that they rise not up again.” Psalm 140: 10

When fury rages on, and one has reached that high moments,
while in the heart one declares enough is enough, I can not
stand this! I need to prevail.

“From on high He sent fire into my bones, and it prevailed over

them”. Lamentations 1:13

That moment when there is fire all over in our bones, and great
stir in the adrenaline hormones, a spirit man is left with no any
other weapon other than the fire of God to be avowed against
the opponent. Fire destroys, it burns the enemy into ashes,
65
leaving no trace of victory at last.

No enemy rises again once casted into the pit of fire of God.
The fire of God consumes, it makes the enemy cry with gross
pains, it is deadly too.

To a spirit man, the covering of the fire of God protects too, it

shields against any strange fire. In the book of Daniel, Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego, the three Hebrew men who were
thrown into a fiery furnace by Nebuchadnezzar, king of Bab-
ylon, when they refused to bow down to the king’s image; the
three were preserved from harm and the king sees four men
walking in the flames of fire, “the fourth like a son of God”.

The son of God, Jesus Christ is a covering fire, Jesus Christ is

the consuming fire, He consumes all other fires and nuetralises
every fire’s power. For there is no power that can overpower the
power of God.

And then the bible also talks about the fires of sulfur, that kind
of fire that introduces scorching heat to enemies. Alas! Who in
the enemy camp will survive the fiery fires of God? No one, no
one can.

“But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the
sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters
and all liars-they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning
sulfur. This is the second death.” Revelation 21:8

In Revelation 21:8 , we see that God is mighty in battle,

66
for He has all the powers to throw all the cowards, unbelievers,
murderers, sexually immoral, magicians, idolaters and liars in
the fiery lake of burning sulfur, and they should end there.

These, all what we see here defines our struggle as Christians,

at many times we have failed to come out of this struggle victo-
riously. It takes God to send all our biggest foe Satan and all his
agents into the lake of fire, that we should be free men at last.

In the fire of God, there is also the rain of fire.

As In Exodus 9:23 “Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky,
and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down to the
earth. And the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt.”; and in
Ezekiel 38:22 “With pestilence and with blood I will enter into
judgment with him; and I will rain on him and on his troops, and
on the many peoples who are with him, a torrential rain, with
hailstones, fire and brimstone.” It is all rosy in the enemy camp
until God rains fire on them.

With the rain of fire, God deals with stubborn enemies, those
who keeps on pursuing God’s children after prior defeats. God
rains fire to eliminate them completely in the battlefield.

“Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone,

and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.”
Psalm 11:6

One promise of God to a spirit man, is that He enters into

judgement with enemies to pour on them the rain of fire on all
67
their troops and weapons. This, God does to defend His
children during the bizzare times when they can not stand
the heat of the battlefield. We are weary and restless in the
battlefield?

Let us call on unto God, to rain fire on our enemies, for the rain
of fire is such a great and effective weapon during warfare.

Our God is a consuming fire, for the LORD your God is a

consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29). Again in Deutronomy 9:3 the
bible says “But understand that today the LORD your God goes
across ahead of you as a consuming fire; He will destroy them
and subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and
annihilate them swiftly, as as the LORD has told you.”

In other words, God is saying that in times when we are

deeply engrossed in fear, we don’t know what is ahead of us, the
kind of enemies ahead of us, God assures us of the victory. For
our God is a consuming fire, He surely goes ahead to fight our
battles, to drive out everything that seems to be entanglements
in our way. God being the consuming fire, consumes every evil
ahead of us to safeguard us from pangs of the devil.

In Psalm 18:8, “There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and

fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.”, we see
that where God moves, there is fire. Actually, fire signifies the
presence of God, and God uses fire to deal bountifully with
those that attacks His children.

68
9. The armour of God

Of all the weapons of warfare, the armour of God is highly

sophisticated armory for a spirit man, and very effective in the
battlefield. The armour of God is also a weapon that almost
every believer is conversant with, and that at one point, the
armour of God has been put in use against the devil and his
crafty followers.

Upon realising that a call to Christianity is call to God’s

military service, children of God are urged to be strong always
and put their lives on the line to defend God in great battles.

“…my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his

might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10-11

Unlike other weapons of warfare, the armour of God is “a full

kit of warfare weapons” on itself, in the armor of God, there a
number of weapons that can either be used independently or
in combination with other weapons, however, the bible
emphasises that for easy treading over the enemies, all the
weapons in the armour of God must be put in use:

9.1 Belt of truth

Truth is God’s spirit often dubbed as the spirit of truth that

searches for right knowledge, speaks and hear voices, guides
one into the road to righteousness and it fore tells of future
events to come.
69
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you
into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever
he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to
come.” John 13:16

The truth of God sets free. The truth of God is the spirit of
freedom. On the onset, it should be noted that a spirit man is
God disciple in the battlefield. For this, the bible is saying that
every God disciple, must amass the truth and remain faithful
to such truths from the ancient words inspired to us by the
ancient of days.

It is the truth, that sets a spirit man free from the devils yokes,
chains and deadly traps in the battlefield. It is the truth that
conquers lies, falsehood, fiction, perjuries, falsity and trickeries
of the devil and his cohorts.

“if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

and ye shall know the truth , and the truth shall make you free”
John 8:31-32

Albeit to say, the spirit man uses the truth as a weapon of

warfare to stand against the lies of the devil and overcome its
deception in entirety. However, for this weapon to be active,
a spirit man is required to be active in the word of God and
remain faithful to it.

The fact is that Satan can not stand against the truth of God. In
our wrestles against the deception of Satan, the truth of God
overcomes.
70
“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father
you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does
not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he
speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and
the father of it.” John 8:44

Worthy to be known here, is that the truth of God to a spirit

man is a shield and buckler. It protects a spirit man from the
fiery darts of the devil in the battlefield. “His truth shall be thy
shield and buckler” Psalm 91:4

As it is, a spirit man cannot effectively execute his noble duties

in the battlefield without the belt of truth girded around the
waist area. The belt of truth sets free the spirit man from the
entanglements of the enemy in the battlefield. The belt around
of waist of a God soldier is fortified with truth to overcome the
lies of Satan during the warfare.

9.2 Breastplate of righteousness

A spirit man needs great protection in the battlefield as he

fights to defend God and His children in great wrestles against
Satan. There will come a time in the battle field when the
enemy shoots the greatest from all angles. The arrows are
coming intensely, to the extent that the belt of truth or a shield
can not seize the deadly flying arrows and protect the spirit
man.

This is the time, when a spirit man needs a breastplate of

righteousness on the chest. The breastplate safeguards the vital
71
organs of a spirit man, the lungs and the heart from where the
spirit being of a man dwells. The breastplate protects these vital
organs, the lungs and heart, for this a place where the holiness
or righteousness of a man exists.

By the breastplate of righteousness, God defends the spirit

man from the arrows of contamination. God does all the ways
possible, that the righteousness of a God soldier remains
untouched and undefiled. This is so because, at time point,
when the war heats up in the battlefield, a spirit man always
lifts up his/her hands towards the heavens crying for God’s help
in prayer.

And the bible says, it is a prayer of a righteous man that

avails much (James 5:16). God gives the breastplate of
righteousness to a spirit man for this reason, that he may be
protected from all forms of wickedness that contaminates the
spiritual wellness of a man.

At the same time, the breastplate is useful to Godsoldiers

during the heat of battle, when blows are coming from un
expected directions, or there are too many to ward off with
just a shield. The breastplate provides protection against the
unexpected and against overwhelming numbers of deadly
flying arrows of righteousness distortion.

A spirit man is always advised and it is a requirement to put

on the breastplate of righteousness during the warring times.
Having put on the breastplate of righteousness (Ephesians 6:4),
a God is rest assured that protection against deadly fly arrows
72
from all the direction is surely guaranteed.

9.3 Feet with Gospel of peace

Wherever, a spirit man goes, he/she must carry the Gospel of

peace, this is a necessity. For this we were once warned,

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom
of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force”
(Mathew 11:12).

There is no peace in this world, for sure, everyday we hear

stories about wars, pandemics, global warming and many more
intriguing situations in the world. We all need the of Gospel of
peace proclaimed throughout the world, to everyone whether
a believer or non believers. Why we are experiencing so much
wars and various forms of unrest throughout the world is that
the Gospel of peace has not been fast spread.

A spirit man must be a carrier of the Gospel of peace even

in the exhilarating moments of war. The Gospel of peace
ceases war. It is more than being a weapon in the armour of
God, the feet shod with the Gospel of peace is the genesis of
peaceministry in times of wars and great struggle among
Christians.

The feet fitted with the gospel of peace is a sign of preparation

and readiness for war. With such feet, a God soldier is able to
stand tall, strong and might in the battle to conquer the enemy.

73
In other words, a spirit man is able to advance for war in
the battle field because on the feet good news about Jesus
Christ, the master of the cross is carried along. The gospel of
Jesus Christ is a sign of victory. It envisages how Jesus Christ,
suffered in the hands of enemies, how he died a gruesome
death on the cross, how he went down to the grave, how he
resurrected to the father in the heaven.

In fact, Jesus Christ, conquered it all, and he said it is finished.

That means, Jesus is God, Jehovah Eli-Shadai, so powerful that
even the death sting couldn’t overcome him.

It is with this knowledge, that no matter the rubble the

adversary throws at as us, amidst the war and chaos, we are so
sure that God has everything under control and that his plan
cannot be foiled by the devil.

So the gospel of peace to a spirit man is such a critical

weapon on the spiritual warfare journey. A spirit man must
walk a distance with the good news of peace, fearfully advance
in the battlefield, maintain peace, unity and order among fellow
soldiers in the camp. Above all, the good news of peace, creates
a no go zone area for the enemy during the war. The gospel
of peace makes a spirit man unmovable, steadfast and always
prepared for war and overcome the tempests of the battle field.

9.4 Shield of faith

The fourth weapon in the armour of God as in Ephesians 6 is

the shield of faith. Paul tells us to take up the shield of faith
74
in order to quench all the burning arrows of evil cardinals. A
God soldier, uses a shield for self defence and protection from
the deadly flying arrows. In fact, a shield is barrier between the
body of a spirit man and the weapon of the enemy. The shield
is the weapon of defence.

A shield during the war time used with the impression that
it is a defensive, protective and has saving power is what is
refereed to as a shield of faith. The assumption is that without
faith, nothing worthwhile works in a life of a spirit man.

That complete trust or confidence in the shield is what makes

it effective weapon of spiritual warfare. During warfare, spirit
men must demonstrate supreme faith in the use of a shield, for
with that it will be possible to block all the flaming arrows from
the enemy.

9.5 Helmet of salvation

Ultimately, it is the desire of every soldier to fight a good

fight of faith in the battle field and emerge a victor. All spirit
men press towards the common goal of winning the spiritual
warfare in good health. The ultimate prize for a spiritual
warfare is salvation, either to get saved from the pangs of the
devil or save God’s folk for the kingdom service.

Paul once said to the Philippians “Brethren, I count not myself to

have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things
which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are
before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling
75
of God in Christ Jesus”. (Philippians 3:13-14)

In a spiritual warfare, a spirit man always presses towards the

mark of the prize, the high calling of God in Jesus Christ. In
other ways, the prize for a soldier is attained after surviving all
the ensnares in the battle field, after chanting the victory songs
“we have overcome! We have overcome!, we are free men at last!”.

However, salvation to God soldiers is not attained on silver

platter, it is a product of persistent struggle with the devil, great
aliveness and determination in the battle field during both
good and painful times.

In simple terms, the spirit man needs a helmet of salvation, for

it is a necessary weapon that protects the head where the mind
lives. The battle against the devil is a battle of the mind, the
devil mostly defeats God’s children with trickeries that caresses
the mind to fear and withdraw from the war. Exactly, this was
the trick that Goliath used to induce fears into the children of
Israel for them not to step out to the battle line.

That said, back to the helmet of salvation, the helmet serves as

protection for the head. The helmet is a vital weaponry of the
armor, as an attack to the head compromises the mind and this
too result in elimination of a soldier in the battlefield through
instant death.

“And take the helmet of salvation” (Ephesians 6:17).

A God soldier is suited up for battle when he or she takes on

76
his head the helmet of salvation, by any means, the helmet is
an armament to be put in place because of its great value in
protecting the head and mind. Perhaps, without the helmet on
the head, a spirit soldier is so vulnerable that the rest of the
armor discussed here would be of diminutive purpose.

9.6 Sword of the spirit, the word of God

Though rarely recognised as the weaponry in the God’s

armor, the sword of the spirit which is the word of God is a great
and multi-purpose ammunition in the battle field. Its impact
to the enemy is very devastating. The sharpness, activeness,
liveness, the dividing nature of the word of God, and the power
resting in the word of God makes it the last and winning
weapon against armies of various sophisticated weapons in the
battlefield.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than
any twoe-dged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of
soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner
of the thoughts and intents of the heart” Hebrews 4:12.

The sword of the spirit, which is the word of God is a quick

win weapon for a God soldier. “Is not my word like as a fire?
saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in
pieces?” Jeremiah 23:29. The word of God is a sharper sword,
consuming fire, hammer that breaks mercilessly.

In fact, the word of God is all-in one-weapon for war. All what
a spirit man need to use this weapon is to proclaim the word
77
of God against the devil and his cohorts.

The armor of God is a full weapon kit for the heavenly soldiers.
It is therefore, a necessity for spirit men to put on the full armor
of God to guard themselves from the attacks of the devil. Spirit
men put on the belt of truth to stand protected from the lies and
deception of the devil in the battlefield. A breastplate of
righteousness is needed to spirit men for protection of their
hearts from the temptations that comes along to them in the
battle ground.

The gospel of peace on the feet, is the light of soldiers in the

battle field and guides them on which way to embark, and from
which front to attack. For it is said “thy word is a lamp unto
my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105. Mostly, as
spirit men, it is always advisable to peacefully co-exist with
fellow spirit men, and again to walk in the pathways of peace
of mind to subdue fear and anxieties that come with battles.

The helmet of salvation to a spirit man covers the minds

and thoughts, reminding them in the battlefield they are
covered up and saved by God’s blood, power, love, grace and
Hispresence. Again, spirit men take up the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God, as one of the offensive weapons given
to them for battle, and has the power to demolish strongholds,
and is alive, active, and sharper than any double-edged sword.

“The armor of God,” ye heavenly sanctioned soldiers, go

out ye, put on the whole armor of God, wrestle against the
devil, ye shall overcome! ye shall overcome! Ye shall overcome.
78
9.7 Prayer

The six afro-mentioned tools for war in the armour of God

are not complete to seal the victory against the enemy. A spirit
man also needs the seventh weapon which is prayer to charge
weapons into deadly missiles against the enemy. Prayer is a
holy communique between God and a spirit man. God always
want to hear from His warriors of the progress of the battle
at each level of the warfare. It is in prayer that a spirit man
communicates to God of all the affairs of the battlefield and ask
Him to intervene in perfecting the victory against the enemy.
Thus why in the heat of the warfare, Paul urged the Ephesians
to augment everything in the battlefield through prayer.

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,

and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication
for all saints;” Ephesians 6:18

A prayer conquers, especially the prayer of a righteous warrior

avails mightily. A warfare prayer according to Paul covers all
phases of war, from warfare planning to advancing, fighting,
overcoming and/or loosing.

In preparing for war, pray!

In advancing in the battle field, pray!
In attacking the enemy, pray!
In defence, pray!
In winning the war, give thanks to God, pray!

79
When the enemy hits back hard, persevere and endure the
pain, still pray!
In withdrawing after losing a spiritual battle, pray!
Pray! Pray! Pray and Pray!

A prayer of a God soldier, is fire, it is scorching heat to the

enemy. Enemies can’t stand the fire that comes with a prayer
in the battle field. Thus why a spirit man is encouraged to
remain steadfast in prayer, its a fire that consumes the enemy in a
spiritual battle.

“Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is

the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the
Spirit” 1 Thessalonians 5:17-19

God soldiers who pray a prayer of faith overcomes and saved

in the battle field. Faithful soldiers confess their faith in prayer
and it is their confessions in prayer that saves them in the
battle field. Daniel was saved from the hungry lions, the lion of
Judah stood on his gap and shut the mouths of strange lions.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego was saved from the fiery
fires in the furnace, they issued words of confession to God
almighty that He is a consuming fire, and He neutralises any
other fire. They were saved.

At midnight in prison, Paul and Sillas prayed, sang and

worshipped God. God heard their prayer in chains and He
saved them. At the point where enemies chain and imprison
you in the battle field. Prayer is the weapon to let the enemy
liberate you and set you free.
80
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto
God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was
a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were
shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every
one’s bands were loosed” Acts 16:25-26

In using prayer as weapon of warfare, God soldiers are also

encouraged to “fight the good fight of faith.” (1 Timothy 6:12)
It is the desire of God for His children to fight and live a
victorious life in the Spirit. However, for a victorious life to be
attained, every spiritual warrior must know and be able to use
a prayer as a weapon for spiritual warfare. A prayer of faith
makes God soldiers triumph in a spiritual warfare.

“And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell
of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae;
of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33 Who
through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, ob-
tained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 Quenched the
violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness
were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the
armies of the aliens. Hebrews 11:32-34

Prayers that quenches the fire of the enemy during a spiritual

warfare:
(a) I quench with the shield of faith every fiery dart the en
emy sends my way (Ephesians 6:16).
(a) I quench every fiery dart of jealousy, envy, anger, bit
terness, and rage sent against my life in the name of Je
sus.
81
(b) I quench every firebrand sent against my life by the ene
my in the name of Jesus (Isaiah 7:4).
(c) I bind and rebuke all spirits of jealousy directed against
my life in the name of Jesus.
(d) I quench every fire the enemy would throw into my
sanctuary in the name of Jesus (Psalm 74:7).
(e) I bind and cast out every fiery serpent sent against my
life in the name of Jesus (Isaiah 30:6).
(f) I quench every burning lamp that comes from the levia
than’s mouth (Job 41:19).
(g) I will not be burned by the fire of the enemy (Isaiah 43:2).
(h) I overcome every fiery trial sent against my life by the
enemy (1 Peter 1:7).
(i) The enemy will not be able to burn up my harvest (2
Samuel 14:30).
(j) I quench every fire of wickedness sent against my life in
the name of Jesus (Isaiah 9:18).
(k) I quench all ungodly words spoken against my life in
the name of Jesus (Proverbs 16:27).
(l) I quench every torch the enemy would use against my
life in the name of Jesus (Zechariah 12:6).
(m) I quench all gossip directed against my life in the name
of Jesus (Proverbs 26:20).
(n) The enemy’s flame will not kindle upon me (Isaiah 43:2).

As God soldiers, always remember that a warfare prayer

becomes effective in the battlefield if it is offered with a
righteous heart. It is only the prayer of righteous soldier that
avails much (James 5:16)

CHAPTER SEVEN

PLANNING FOR SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Often we hear in the news across the globe about wars. Wars
in our modern times are pointers of the end times perhaps.
Every day, somewhere in the world two or more combatants
are fighting. Even though the subject of spiritual war is an
ancient sermon, it is still applicable in our day to day lives.

Spiritual warfare defines the life of a modern Christian. It is in

the heat of a spiritual warfare where Christians are tested and
tried to overcome the pangs of the enemy and augment their
faith in Jehovah Nissi, our banner in the battle field. However,
before facing the enemy in the battlefield, God’s soldiers must
design a spiritual warfare plan. While it is appreciated that God
has got His own war plan, God soldiers should mirror their war
plans in the overarching God’s war plan.

Consequently, the spirit man must be able to plan for war in

line with God master plan for a spiritual warfare. We plan, but
God is the master planner, and He even establishes the plan of
man once committed to Him (Proverbs 16:3)

Unlike spirit man’s war plan, God’s War plan describes

battles stemming from various sources and its underlying
83
causes. God’s war plan also, enlightens on military strategies
to be put into place, and documents key lessons in an event of
losing or winning the war against enemies.

Normally, a spirit man faces numerous spiritual battles,

sometimes with more than one combatants. This is the reason
why a spirit man must always have a God’s war plan for His
children in addition to the personal war plan for execution in
the battlefield.

Before a greater detail of a spiritual warfare plan, it should

be clearly understood that spiritual warfare is rooted in the
medieval battles the holy scriptures unveils. And this is
premised on the principles that:

(a) All battles arise from the spiritual war between good
and evil, God and Satan.
(b) The end times are near, and that its usual to experience
unusualness in world through wars.
(c) Satan deceives God’s children, and God retaliates to de
fend His children.
(d) Satan creates disorder in the world, and that God
always strive to restore peace and order in the world.

God’s war plan for a spirit man, is as good as God’s plan for
the human race. We see God unceasing love towards His
children, that He even bankrupted the heavens by giving His
only begotten son Jesus Christ to die for the salvation of the
whole world.

84
Jesus realised that the world is at war with the devil, such great
war that even giants spirit men cannot conquer. But Jesus
Conquered the invisible enemy on the cross, He said it is
finished, nor wars perhaps.

In this, we see God’s war plan and the spirit man war plan
subset is the blueprint for war, that every God soldier must
stick to it to defeat the enemy in the battlefield. It is therefore,
required that a God soldier must stick to the precepts in the
God’s war plan.

Though often it is forgotten, but for God’s soldiers and all

other Christians to do exploits in a spiritual warfare, they must
therefore understand two things:
(a) God’s plan for His Children in a spiritual warfare,
(b) A spirit man personal plan for spiritual warfare that
mirrors the overarching God’s war plan.

In planning for a spiritual warfare the following steps must be

considered:
(a) Identify your real enemy; who is the enemy and what
are his war abilities, have an in depth knowledge of who
the enemy is, including the knowledge on the past war
experience
(b) Identify the weapons the enemy uses to defeat its
opponents.
(c) Know where the enemy is fighting from, is it from the
mountain top, in the valleys, on the sea or in the sky.
This helps in drawing plans for right positioning in the
battlefield.
85
(d) Identify military strategies for advancing in the battle
field to easily defeat the enemy.
(e) Advance with confident soldiers, let the fearful remain
behind, for they can be the reason for your downfall
(f) Follow God’s instructions as regards to the aftermaths
of war, for this is very critical and above all respect
God’s will for you in the battle field.
(g) After the war comes to an end, document key lessons
in an event of losing or winning the spiritual warfare.
For this becomes a reference tool in future battles

Take note that spiritual warfare is not a one man show, it

involves a lot of people, soldiers and non-soldiers, and a lot of
people who work behind the scenes in war rooms, planning,
praying and seeking God’s interventions during the war. As
such, successful spiritual warfare planning should always put
that into consideration.

One the critical issue to consider is set plans by consultation,

and wage war under sound guidance (Proverbs 20:18). Let spir-
itual warfare plans be as a result of deep consultations before
executing them in the battle filed.

It is said that for “lack of guidance, a nation falls, but with

many counselors comes deliverance”. And “plans fail for lack of
counsel, but with many advisers they succeed”. Again with, “only
with sound guidance should you wage war, and victory lies in a
multitude of counselors”. (Proverbs 11;14; 15:22; 24:6)

86
CHAPTER EIGHT

SPY THE CAMP, SPY IN THE CAMP

Common practice and knowledge outlays that for effective

warfare planning, warriors or soldiers must encamp at one
place to set out the agenda for war in the battlefield. The
battlefield requires not the faint hearted, the contrite, the
fearful; and easy to retreat and surrender warriors. Warfare
is for the brave warriors rooted and united in one spirit, one
accord and one purpose to defeat the opponent. Such being
the case, heaven soldiers are gathered at one camp to soar their
faith high up and establish common spirit, understanding and
knowledge of the enemy beforehand.

It is in the camp, where heaven warriors are made to

understand that the commander in chief in the battlefield is
God, the God of armies of Israel. For this is where, the God
of armies of Israel who is our defender, deliverer and liberator
comes to unveil Himself in our camp that He is God YAHWH,
the great I AM I AM.

“And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus
shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto
you” (Exodus 3:14-15)

87
Sometimes and more often, when Satan has bound the
children of God in chains of despair, afflictions, sicknesses,
disappointments, and bondage of sins, he also makes them
doubt the messenger of the Most High God, the one who comes
to deliver and liberate them from the hands of enemies.

Perchance, it sounds so strange but this is called for, because

no one in life will host the stranger in his own house without
gathering enough information about him or her. In the same
way, God perceived this in the fore, that His own children of
Israel will doubt His messenger Moses coming with the news
of liberation in the land of Egypt, the land of great torment and
suffering from the hands of merciless Pharaoh.

As the entry point, God instructed Moses to gather the elders

of Israel (seasoned and well versed soldiers) in a camp so that
he may pitch the master plan of warfare YAHWH is going
to execute to liberate His people from the hands of Pharaoh.
Moses reasoned with the elders of Israel, that the one who sent
him is the God of their forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
And that the people of Israel should not be skeptical about him.

“Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them,
The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac,
and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you,
and seen that which is done to you in Egypt” (Exodus 3:16)

In spiritual warfare, we have war bases to establish common

knowledge of our enemies, define battle terrains, identify
weapons of warfare and know how to use them in different
88
war environments, devise strategies of advancing when the war
becomes tense and fiercely dangerous.

We all call the spot where we gather to design and program

the warfare, a CAMP. In the warfare, we have camps, our camp
and enemies’ camps too. As we plan for the warfare, devising
all possible ways to overcome, and suppress their prowess, the
enemies are also in their camp preparing for the same, perhaps
our downfall.

“For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their
sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.” Proverbs 4:16

In camps, enemies do everything possible to retaliate with full

force and throttle, they can even make huge sacrifices to bring
forth children of God to ransom and total destruction in the
battlefield. They even go ahead sending spies in the camps
God’s children. The planted spies become part in planning the
warfare, watching believers from afar, and alerting the enemy
of their plans in the battle. When in the battlefield, believers get
surprised why neither of the plans work.

In such a premise, what do the children of God need to

do, because they can’t watch from afar and frustrated in
battlefield every time, yes, they can’t continue being the objects
that the enemy can tramp on in the war zone. This is the time to do
unto them (enemies) as the do unto you, spy the camp, spy in
the camp!

The secret of every warfare is to have full knowledge of the

89
enemy, their strategies for the war, and their weapons of
warfare. If the weapons war are of the fire, advance with the
weapons that will quench the fire, if they are fighting on the
waters, we need to have marine soldiers, if they are fighting
in the air, we need soldiers who can advance for the battle in
the sky, if enemies are fighting from the mountain top and we
are in the valleys, we need to be able to crawl even with our
stomachs to fight back with full military force.

In quintessence, while Satan sends us spies in our camp, we

should also be replicating the same, by sending ours so that we
may understand, learn and assimilate His of art of warfare in
our camp to triumph in the battlefield.

God has used this underlining principle “spy the camp, spy in
the camp” in many instances to help His children conquer the
enemies in their territories (Numbers 13:17-18, 21:32; Joshua
2:1, 6:25, 14:7; Judges 18:2, 14, 17; 2 Samuel 10:3; 1 Kings 6:13;
1 Chronicles 19:3; Jeremiah 48:19).

1. Joseph in the land of Egypt

The story of Joseph being sold by His brothers to the

Ishmaelites traders is pathetic and in its entirety subversive.
For the sake of brotherly love, one can not do such an evil act
selling a brother at a price. But anyway, the bible in Romans
8:28 says “And we know that all things work together for good to
them that love God, to them who are the called according to his
purpose”. God spirit visited Joseph’s brother to sell him, upon
seeing that his endowed wisdom in dreams and interpretation
90
(Genesis 37) can not only be limited to the family. It has to
be exposed far to the outside world. It pleased God that such
charisma, wisdom and inspiration need to be taken to kings
and princes in a foreign land.

Joseph became a successful slave in Egypt because God was

with Him, and he was promoted to the rank of a prisoner after
the master’s wife falsely accused him as a rapist. God was still
with Joseph, and later the same king whom imprisoned him
also honored him with the post of a Governor (Genesis 41:37-
57).

God never mistakes the destiny of someone, the very same

God Spirit and wisdom to interpret dreams that was rejected by
Joseph’s brothers was accommodated in Pharaoh’s palace. Upon
seeing how Joseph precisely interpreted His dreams, Pharaoh
searched among his servants “…can we find such one as this, a
man in whom is the spirit of God” (Genesis 41:38 NKJV)

Joseph was a messenger or rather a spy in the land of Egypt

planted there for the glory of the latter days to the family of
Jacob. As we read through the story of family life of Jacob, at
some point they were embattled with great famine in the land
of Canaan, that they had nowhere to seek food relief except
from Egypt and the man in control of great wealth in the land
was a blood brother Joseph.

Jacob sent his sons to the land of Egypt, the person in contact
was their brother Joseph. Even though, he recognised them,
he acted as a stranger to them and spoke roughly (Genesis
91
42:7, 14) and considered them as spies,“…it is as I spoke to you,
saying you are spies”. Joseph even imprisoned his brothers for
three days on the condition that they bring a younger brother
to him before they can be assisted with grain.

When the struggle of famine hit hard and became blood-and-

guts in the land of Canaan, Jacob sent spies (brothers) to a
spy (Joseph) to seek food relief to triumph in the battlefield of
famine. God handled this in His will, and based on the
principal that an undercover agent or a messenger in the lead is
a saviour in making. Jacob was saved from the pangs of death
due to a famine by his beloved son Joseph in the foreign land.

2. Moses, a spy in the Pharaoh’s Palace

The Bible records that during the birth of Moses, some unusual
and strange things happened, the new king of Egypt never had
it in history that there was an Israelite by the name Joseph in
Egypt whom his late father honoured and cherished.

Joseph after His passing on, his brothers remained and kept
multiplying while there in Egypt. What kept the new king
surprised was the fact that the children of Israel lived a
victorious, mightier, plentiful, abundant and fulfilled life
in Egypt. This can be attributed to the fact the God of their
forefathers Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph was with them
always and blessed their daily hustles.

“…Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and

mightier than we” (Exodus 1:9)
92
Out of envy, that the people of Israel were mightier than
them, the new king plotted against them and exposed them
in various forms of torture, afflicting them with hard
labour and even killing every male child born to the Hebrew
woman as a birth control mechanism, as the king thought
(Exodus 1:10-22). Moses was born in a such a time when
Pharaoh made a decree that “…every son that is born ye shall
cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive”
(Exodus 1:22).

Despite, this decree, God had an assigned destiny with Moses.

Despite all the opposing forces, the life of Moses was spared
and lived through to the attainment of God’s purpose in his life.
God willed that Moses, would one day be used as deliverer for
the people of Israel from the afflictions of king Pharaoh. And
the only way to achieve that destined task, was to see to it that
Moses be adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter, nursed and grow in
the palace.

Though, Moses grew in the king’s palace, he knew that he did

not belong there, rather God sanctioned him to be there as the
spy to understand the tactics of war Pharaoh was using to ail
the Israelites. Moses indeed learned the art of war, thus why we
see at some point Moses defending his people from the ruthless
Egyptians.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown,

that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their
burdens: and he SPIED an Egyptian smiting a Hebrew, one of his
brethren. And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw
93
that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the
sand. (Exodus 2:11-12)

God saw it good, that Moses should grow in the Kings palace.
This was deliberate in making, so that Moses would under-
stand the burdens pharaoh was pressing on his brethren and be
moved with compassion to take up the assignment of liberating
them in such a life suffocating environment. Later, we see God
calling him to deliver His own people from the ruthless hands
of Pharaoh.

3. Messengers of Salvation-As in ancient days

There comes a time in life where the wrath of God is coming

live and real to every Christian. Vindicated by sinful desires
of this world, most of Christians will be caught unaware of
the day and hour the son of man is coming back to take the
righteous ones to the heavenlies.

So was in the days of Noah, while he and his family were just,
perfect and walked with God, other people went astray. The bi-
ble has it in record, that during the days of Noah, people were
filled with strife, immorality, vehemence, wickedness and all
sorts of evil.

“The wickedness of man was great in the earth; ... every intent of
the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” Genesis 6:5.

God always want His children live up to the standards of

righteousness. He wants His children live pure, holy and their
94
bodies away from defilement of any evil. As in 2 Corinthians
6:16, the Bible says, the bodies of human beings are His temple
of the Holy ghost, and such being the case, our bodies should
not be contaminated with evil of all forms.

“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye
are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in
them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall
be my people”

As God is richly dwelling in us and walking with us, we

have the Grace and privilege to be called His people. This
Grace falls off, if we walk away from His perfect will and His
just ways. As it was in the days of Noah and because of the
people’s wickedness, violence and evil, God was moved to
destroy the whole earth. But before, doing such a devastating
act God saw for Himself the immorality committed by His
Children. God spared the family of Noah through the heaven
made ark of righteous people.

Gods plan was to punish all unholy people with flood and
spare holy ones. The plan was fulfilled, as the whole earth was
filled with waters. This was a lesson to people of Noah’s time
especially to His family. That if they will sway away from
moral uprightness as recommended by God, they will not be
exempted from the punishment of God.

It seems the human race does not want to learn from the
misfortunes of the past generations. God’s people redeemed
from the rage of merciless waters were later mixed with some
95
agents of ungodliness as in the land of Sodom and Gomorrah.

“But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD
exceedingly” (Genesis 13:13)

The wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah was great,

however, like in Noah’s time, there were also few righteous
people in the land, and one of them was Lot. In times of
unknown, Lot hosted spies or messengers of salvation (angels)
to bear witness of the iniquities of people of Sodom.

“And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the
gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and
he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; And he said,
Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s
house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise
up early, and go on your ways” (Genesis 19:1-2)

These were messengers of good will and with message of salva-

tion for the people, though to their dismay, they were attacked
by evil people of the land. In an aphoristic expression, we see
the people (men, both young and old) of Sodom compassing
around the house seeking to assault the messengers of God. But
God is a mighty warrior, when the men of Sodom were about
to advance, God smote them with blindness (Genesis 19:9).

Until morning, the angels advised Lot to take His wife and
two daughters to move out of the land, for God was about to
destroy the city with fire due to its moral decadence

96
“Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brim-
stone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; And he overthrew
those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities,
and that which grew upon the ground” (Genesis 19:24-25)

When we are in God’s military service, God demands from

us self-righteousness during wicked and perilous times in
order to be exempted from his anger in the battlefield lest the
enemy preys on us. In the war zone, God sides with the hallowed
soldiers, and he sends His messengers of salvation (spies) to
shield us from all enemies surrounding us.

We need messengers of salvation in our camps as we wage

war with the enemy. Jesus is our God sent and Saviour. He is
coming soon, for the wickedness of the world is exceedingly
great. Let us recieve Him deeply in our hearts as our personal
Lord and Saviour. He will make us triumph in the battlefield.
He will deliver all the righteous warriors from all their enemies
that compass us.

4. Joshua and Caleb-Spying and Sending Spies

In the way to the promised land, the people of Israel

wandered in the wilderness for a very long time. A lot of things
happened along the way; people failed short of God’s glory,
God punished them in the process and the people reconciled
with their God [YAHWH] as well. However, despite the arduous
journey, a time came for God’s children to rise above baffling
situations and conquer for the glory of the promised land.
But before testing the glory of the promised land, Moses
97
send twelve men to spy the land Canaan.

“Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the
children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you shall send
a man, everyone a leader among them.” (Numbers 13:2, NKJV).

At the same time, Moses advised the spies to asses the

land of Canaan in terms of the terrain of the land, the
inhabitants, military capabilities and their numbers, their
camps or strongholds, their economy classes and natural
features such as forests.

“Go up this way into the South, and go up to the mountains,

and see what the land is like: whether the people who dwell
in it are strong or weak, few or many; whether the land they
dwell in is good or bad; whether the cities they inhabit are like
camps or strongholds; whether the land is [d]rich or poor; and
whether there are forests there or not”. (Numbers 13:17-20,
NKJV).

Exactly, this knowledge of the land of Canaan that Moses asked

the spies to follow up is very crucial for warfare planning and
advancing in the battlefield. Moses believed that the knowledge
of the enemy and his military system is the basis for victory.

Time to face giants, as reported by other ten spies, the land

of Canaan inhabits the descendants of Anak, men of great
stature and stronger than them. Of all the spies, Joshua and
Caleb were the only two spies who brought back a good
report and believed that God would help them overcome
98
giants of Anak.

Jeremy Lallier in the secret of facing your giants, once said:

“The towering giants of the Bible may be ancient history, but

God’s people today are required to do battle with a far more
fearsome breed of giant”

Spiritual spying is a critical point in warfare planning, this

is a stage that unearths information about prowess of the
opponent in the battlefield, and the terrains where the enemy
wages his battle. Such knowledge is necessary for devising
the strategies of attacking the enemy and counter-attacking
should the enemy retaliate.

Sending spies to the enemy camp is not just a custom to war

programmers, but it is warfare strategy to overthrow the
enemy with much ease. After the death of Moses, Joshua
took the mantle and was tasked with the huge task to lead the
chosen people of God to the promised land. God never
promised that the journey will be easy, rather He encouraged
Joshua to be fearless, bald and courageous in the pursuit of the
journey.

“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou

dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou
goest.” (Joshua 1:9)

These sentiments characterise soldiers in the God’s army.

However, without shear knowledge of the enemy, advancing for
99
war is fatal from both fronts. As a novice soldier, Joshua sent
spies to spy the land, identify all obstacles and/or all opposing
forces along the way to the land of promise.

“And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy
secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went,
and came into an harlot’s house, named Rahab, and lodged there”
(Joshua 2:1)

True to Joshua’s war strategy of sending spies ahead of an enemy

crush, it was found that the land of Jericho was too volatile for
the people of Israel to pass through to reach the promised land.
We see this, after the life of messengers were at risk of death as
the king of Jericho pursued them. The art of spying the enemy
camp is risky too, warriors need messengers of salvation to save
them should the enemy discover their presence in the camp. It
took a harlot Rahab to hide the spies in her house and let them
out of the city through the house roof. There is a way out for a
heaven sanctioned soldiers to triumph in the battlefield.

Nonetheless, as soldiers in God’s military service we need

to send spies to our enemy camp, it is mandatory for
effective warfare planning and advancing to overcome. With
knowledge of Jericho, as a battle ground, Joshua with the help
of God, devised a witty way to conquer Jericho to find their
way through to Canaan. Marching around the walls of Jericho
seven times for seven days and a loud shout was enough to
conquer the walls of Jericho and have their way through to the
promised land. Always spy the camp!

100
5. Delilah, in Samson’s life

Satan sends spies in our camps to understand our prowess

and the underlying secret behind our success in the field of
battle. The trap to this, most often fall upon the man whom God
destined to serve and save His children during the warfare.
This is a spy commonly for the destined, purposed, blessed and
spirit filled front-line soldiers.

“And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and
the child grew, and the LORD blessed him. And the spirit of the
LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between
Zorah an Eshtaol.” (Judges 13:24-25).

Samson was a man on God’s mission, called to fight for people

of Israel and deliver them from the hands of the philistines.
This came at a time, when the Lord God almighty delivered
the Israelites in the hands of philistines for forty years. As
God’s soldier, Samson was at it many instances to defend his
tribesmen from philistines. However, prior to his birth,
the angel of the Lord appeared to the mother of Samson in a
voice saying;

“For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall
come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God
from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the
hand of the Philistines.” (Judges 13:5).

The strength of Samson to conquer the philistines in the

battlefield was in this secret that no razor should come to his
101
head. This secret was known between Samson and his
family, and no one else. Until Delilah came in as a secret agent
of philistines to discover this secret, and orchestrate the
downfall of Samson in the latter days.

Samson was always victorious in the battlefield because

the spirit of the Lord was working mightily in him, from
tearing the live lion with bear hands, to defeating thousands
of philistines with a jaw bone of a donkey. “And he found a new
jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew
a thousand men therewith” (Judges 15:15). He called this place,
where God granted him great victory, “Ramathlehi.” Samson
was unstoppable in battle, he grew from strength to strength
day by day!

His reign in the battlefield against the philistines ended when

he revealed the source of his strength to Delilah, his wife and
a secret agent of philistines in his life. Delilah was not planted
in the life of Samson as a wife, but she was a spy to the people
of Israel. This was a war strategy for the philistines, to get rid
of their mighty man in battle [Samson] and induce fears to the
people of Israel.

“And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto
her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and
by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind
him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven
hundred pieces of silver.” (Judges 16:5).

Delilah spied successfully on Samson, the mission to have

102
Samson’s hair cut was accomplished and we see his strength
being levelled to the ground. The philistines rejoiced, for their
enemy in the battlefield was finally conquered. But wait a
minute, despite the fading away of Samson’s strength,
Samson killed a lot of philistines at a time he was dying as
a front-line soldier, a record that could not be equaled with
former victories in his career in God’s military Service

“And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed
himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon
all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his
death were more than they which he slew in his life” (Judges 16:30)

6. Judas Iscariot

A loyal servant and apostle of our Lord Jesus Christ. A

disciple among the twelve, and for the love of money Judas
Iscariot betrayed His master in the hands of enemies. Judas
Iscariots name become famous throughout world and until
today he is known as quintessential scriptural villain of all the
ages. He is the true definition of betrayal and probably the great
traitor for all time.

Judas was selected by Jesus Christ to be an apostle, as one of

the twelve (Matt. 26:14; Mark 14:10; Luke 22:3; John 6:71),
one of the “disciples” (John 12:4) responsible for promoting
Jesus’ teachings. Jesus Christ nursed Judas to the extent that he
become profitable to the kingdom service. No one knew, that
at one point Judas Iscariot will at some time revile and betray
His master Jesus just because of greed for money.
103
Except Jesus Christ, all the other eleven apostles did not knew
that Judas was conspiring to betray Jesus Christ.

“And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one
of you shall betray me. And they were exceeding sorrowful, and
began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? And he
answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish,
the same shall betray me.” Matthew 26:2.

In these verses, we see that when Jesus said that the one to
betray Him is with them, everyone was sorrowful and in awe they
began asking, Lord is it I?, but continued tell them that the one
who dips his hand with him the same dish shall betray Him.

Jesus mentored an agent of the devil, a spy in the camp for three
good years. As a price that Jesus received for mentoring Judas
to teach gospel far beyond was betrayal. Thus why we see that
before Last Supper of our Lord Jesus Christ, Judas went to the
chief priests and agreed to hand over Jesus in exchange for 30
silver coins. What a spy in Jesus ministry on earth, and what a
price Jesus received for being good to Judas.

In quintessence, the spiritual warfare enlightens us that the

people we dine with, we do everything together, we share trust
sometimes are used by the devil to put us down, for they are
spies in our camp, to watch over us on our every life endeavor.

7. Saul, a spy for believers.

“As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every
104
house, and haling men and women committed them to prison…
and Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against
the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest” (Acts 8:3; 9:1)

In soul searching and redeeming the early believers,

messages of hope, peace and salvation in Jesus Christ was
fast spreading. Each day, dozens of people were
converted to follow Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and
Saviour. The devil too, never wanted to lose his folk to God.

These were times great belligerence, few spies of the

kingdom of the darkness like Saul were used highly to
destabilise the early church believers, dragging all of them,
that had a warm reception of the gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ. Satan mightily used Saul to persecute believers,
threatening apostles in all fronts of the ministry.

Saul was a planted spy to the children of God, to weaken

their faith in Christ. In history, this was the time the church
faced great persecution in Jerusalem, some God’s servants like
Stephen were stoned to death. This was also the time the
devil dragged the believers to fall off from their belief in God,
the Almighty. Some Christians were imprisoned with such
enraptures and commands “denounce Christ or you perish!”.
For it was before, written that:

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom
of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”
(Matthew 12:11)

105
However, in the intriguing seasons, we still saw Phillip
taking the gospel to Samaria, John and Peter taking the gospel
to greater heights, preaching the word of God, casting out
demons and performing great signs and wonders. There were
kind of great awakenings amidst great tempests, resistance and
persecutions from the devil.

One thing commended though, on the life of early believers is

their unwavering faith in God and steadfast prayers of unity to
dismantle the devil and all his cohorts. Until such a day, God
heard their prayers and caught the enemies for the kingdom
service.

“In the battlefield, if the opponents are too strong to be defeated,

always pray in one spirit that God should catch them and make
them valuable assets in the kingdom of God”.

This is a lesson that God’s teaches in times of being spied by

enemies.

Catch the spy in your camp, with spirit filled prayer, make
him/her profitable in your camp and the kingdom of the Most
High God

“…and suddenly there shined round about him a light from

heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto
him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who
art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou
persecutest” (Acts 9:3-5)

106
God stroke the enemy [spy] in the believers camp. Just a
voice and light on Saul on his way to persecute the people of
Damascus was enough to change him and stop laying havoc to
believers. God defends His children and brings the erring one
back to the kingdom service. That was a turning point of Saul,
his name changed to Paul. He changed from being an agent of
Satan to a minister of word to the gentiles.

Always pray in the spirit when you are in the battlefield of life,
ask God strike the spies in the camp and make them profitable
in your camp!

CHAPTER NINE

ADVANCING IN THE BATTLE FIELD

In a spiritual warfare, the most deadly time is the time of

advancing in the battlefield to face the enemy on a battle line
for war.

God soldiers need to advance with care, for they don’t know
what the enemy is capable of doing on the battle ground. While
advancing for war can be easy sometimes, sometimes soldiers
fear to step forth in the battle field because they enemies look
stronger than them and very challenging.

In the valley of Elah, when soldiers of Israel were on the battle

field to face the philistines on the hills, no one dared to advance
on the battle line for they feared the giant Goliath.

“Each day Goliath would come out and shout a challenge to the
Israelite soldiers. He would say, “Why are all of your soldiers lined
up ready for battle? You are Saul’s servants. I am a Philistine. So
choose one man and send him to fight me…today I stand and
make fun of the army of Israel. I dare you to send me one of your
men and let us fight.Saul and the Israelite soldiers heard what
Goliath said, and they were very afraid.” (1 Samuel 17:7-11)

109
Despite being engrossed in fear of the enemy in the battle, God
soldiers must always understand that the time of advancing for
war is critical and a defining moment of every soldiers destiny.
Therefore, soldiers are called to rejoice always when stepping
forth in the battlefield.

Just like any war, a spiritual warfare comes into on four phases
and is premised on the principle “confront the enemy and
conquer”. The phases of spiritual warfare include;

(a) Advance

Generally, to advance for a warfare is to come out from the

camp, step in the battlefield and challenge the enemy to
battle it out in the field. Goliath advanced in the battle field
and challenged the Israelites for war.

“...Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a

Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you,
and let him come down to me.” (1 Samuel 17:8)

Advancing for warfare in the battlefield is further divided into

two;
(a) advance to contact that is when a soldier is on the look
out seeking an enemy for war. In advance to contact,
God soldiers draw near and near to face the enemy in
battle. Soldiers journey onto close to the enemy in read
iness for engagement.
(b) The second way to advance is advance in contact. This
is when God soldiers confront the enemy, and here
110
soldiers apply battle drills to echlon through enemy
positions. Advance in contact leads us to phase two of
warfare, that is attack.

(b) Attack

A spirit man must also understand that advancing in the

battle field is not the end of the story. The crucial thing to
do is advance to attack the enemy with offensive spirit and
aggressiveness to reduce the prowess of the enemy. Confront
the enemy with aggression and let there be wild fire in the
battlefield, never give space to enemies, attack, attack and
attack until they are overpowered and you possess the territory.
In attacking repel all the forces of the enemy through hoty and
temperant prayers of war room army commanders, through
exorcism, the laying on of hands, fasting with prayer, praise
and worship, and anointing with oil.

In attacking and confronting the enemy, there is nothing to feel

sorry about, as God soldiers, you are already poured out as an
offering, fight until the end, fight a good fight, and win. God
will grant you the eternal prize. Remember! All those soldiers
who attack and shrink back in the battlefield are destroyed
(Hebrews 10:39).

As God soldiers when we attack the enemy, our noble duty is to

shoot the enemy, and we don’t regret. Our regrets are the souls
we miss to save in the battlefield.

God is leading the way, might in battle. Attack, fight and remain
111
there in the battlefield, pass through the trials and amidst trials
continue attacking until you conquer.

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when
he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God
has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12

(c) Defence

When advancing in the battlefield, a spirit man must be

prepared in all fronts in terms of physical fitness and psycho-
logically too. Advancing in the battlefield is not a one step
thing, its multi-staged and in a process as we have seen. A
Godly soldier must master the tactic Advance-attack-defend.
Defence is self protection and taking the area in the hands and
control it. After advancing and attacking the Israelites, Goliath
defended the conquered territory that no Israel stepped forth
for war. Goliath mightily ruled the battlefield and defended it
from Israelites soldiers. Such is what exactly happens in the
battle field, the enemy conquers God children and possess the
territory into their hands.

Worse still, the enemy enslaves spiritual warriors through

whatever means; the enemy induces the spirit of fear,
introduces diseases, spirit of limitations, diseases, familiar
spirits, and binds God soldiers in chains so that they can not
fight. Perhaps, Satan and his followers intends an impending
doom for God soldiers in the battle field. This is the time,
spiritual warriors need to defend God sovereignty in the
battle field.
112
As our greatest army commander of all times, Jesus Christ
defended God through out His entire life here on earth.
While in the wilderness, a battle place for him and Satan,
Jesus Christ leveled down Satan and all his trickeries. Jesus
Christ as our Command-in-Chief resisted all the forces and
advances of the devil in the wilderness. He reminded Satan
of God’s absolute above all powers on earth and in heaven.
Read Matthew 4. While in the battle field of temptation,
Jesus Christ resisted the devil attacks and successfully
defended God during the conquest.

Jesus Christ set the path for God soldiers on how to

defend God during spiritual battles. Just like him, it is also
envisaged that all spirit men should resist all the forces of the
enemy in the camp and defend the reigning, undisputed and
undefeated nature of God in spiritual battle fields. Learn to
battle and defend God, yourself and God’s children just like
Jesus did in the wilderness of temptation battleground.

God arms His children with defence weapons to quench all the
fiery darts of the enemy.

The only thing that makes you a real soldier is to take cover
and defend yourself and God from enemies, which are God
enemies too. Defend the claimed territory from the enemies
with God, even if your army has a sophisticated armour for
defence. Without God it is useless, it is the Lord that always
defend to win. The Lord is unmoved and undefeated in the
battle filed.

113
(d) Withdraw

Spirit men are in a war, sometimes the mission may be

done successfully and there is a total defence against the
enemy. That moment when the enemies are completely o
verpowered, all spirit men must successfully withdraw from the
mission. Sometimes, enemies are too strong and they
overpower the spirit men, it is also advised to withdraw from
the battle field following a defeat. Advance-attack-
defend-withdraw is a chain of activities that all God soldiers must
understand in the battlefield.

In advancing for war in the battlefield, God soldiers must

advance with God, attack with God, defend with God and
withdraw in respect of God’s will for the battle.

“And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after

this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue:
for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.”
(1 Samuel 30:8)

A psalmist and a Gods soldier, David could not advance in the

battle field without inquiring from God and know if there is
victory in the battle beforehand. One thing that David teaches
today’s spirit men is the art of patience in advancing for war
in the battlefield. David was waiting for answers from God on
the status of war if they are to advance to confront enemies.
Obedience to God’s instruction and patience in the life of a
God soldier is key to winning spiritual battles.

114
When advancing to contact and in contact with the
enemy, a spirit man must always advance with confidence
while testifying how great our God is in battlefield, how He
saved you from deadly battles and proclaim how He will put
down the enemy before hand.

Again, analyse the enemy on the battle line and know all the
weapons that the enemy has before engaging in a war. For this,
determines the tactics and strategies a spirit man can apply
to get saved from the deadly enemy weapons while pouncing
back at him or her. David advanced confidently with a sling
and stones to slay Goliath in the battle field while Goliath faced
David with a sword, spear and a shield with a full army attire.

“Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a

sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in
the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel,
whom thou hast defied. 46 This day will the LORD deliver thee
into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from
thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this
day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth;
that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all
this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword
and spear: for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give you into
our hands” (1 Samuel 17:45-47)

In a spiritual battlefield, God soldiers face a dangerous army

called forth to defend Satan against God. Paul in Ephesians
urged Christians that when advancing for war in the battlefield,
always put on the whole armor of God to stand against the
115
missiles that the devil throws at spirit men.

Not everyone must advance for war in the battlefield, some

soldiers are fearful and weak, only let the men of valour step
out of the camp and face the enemies for war. These are soldiers
who understands that;
(a) We do not confront against flesh and blood ,but against
the rulers, authorities and powers of dark world
(Ephe sians 6:12)
(b) As a God soldier must always be strong in the Lord and
his mighty power (Ephesians 6:10)
(c) Every battle is in the hands of God (2 chronicle 20:1)
and it is God who triumphs
(d) Simply, soldiers who are eligible to advance for war in
the battleground are courageous (Judges 7:3-4)
(e) Our enemies are God’s Enemies (Judges 5:31;
Exodus 17:16)

Spiritual army commanders must make sure that the following

soldiers should not advance for war in the battlefield;
(a) Cowards should be exempted from warfare (Deuteron
omy 20:8), coward soldiers run away amidst the battle
( 20:5-8, 2 Timothy 2:4) and they can not fight until the
enemy is completely destroyed (Numbers 31:10-11)
(b) Wounded soldiers in mind who perceives no prospect
for victory in the battlefield
(c) Prisoners of no hope in victory
(d) Soldiers who feel sorry when they shoot and kill the
enemy. Battlefield is for the violent and strong in mind,
for soldiers who can defend God in a violent way, not
116
for the pitiful (Matthews 11:12)
(e) Unconsecrated and defiled soldiers; God only sides
with holy soldiers in the battlefield (Deuteronomy
23:9-14).

117
CHAPTER TEN

FIGHTING AND WINNING SPIRITUAL BATTLES

Every soldier whether a God soldier or a soldier from the

enemy camp, fights to win war in the battlefield. Fighting and
winning wars is a destiny for all soldiers. The sad moment is
when a soldier dies in the battlefield or gets overpowered by the
enemy because the depression and anxieties that comes with a
loss of a battle are so much great. To a spirit man sanctioned
for war, losing becomes the last option, because God Himself is
a mighty man in battle and an eventual winner in every battle
against Satan and his cohorts of darkness.

Perhaps, a destiny of a God soldier is defined in winning

every war God entrusts him or her to fight for Him. If he or she
loses, a blame for loss can not be pushed to God because God
prepares a warrior in all knowledge of the battle, the
battlefields, heavenly military strategies, and above all God
equips the spirit man will all the necessary weapons of warfare.

In spiritual warfare our enemies are three, namely; the flesh,

the world (Ephesians 2:1-3;6:12) and the devil ( Jude 9,James
4:7). When God sanctions a soldier into a fight, a he or she
wrestles against the flesh, the world and its dark rulers and the
devil.
119
The devil is strong in battle and has conquered so many God
soldiers, the devil is roaring lion and he always fights to defeat
the lion of the tribe of Judah.

Fighting against the enemy [devil] in the battlefield therefore

requires a sober mind and alertness to his schemes, this forms
the basis of winning the battle.“Be sober-minded and alert. Your
adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking
someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

As God soldiers battle it out against Satan in the battlefield,

they also need to realise that the devil is also powerful, and
he rules over the helpless soldiers in a war. However, for Satan
not to outwit us in the battle, we should always be aware of his
military tactics and strategies for war (especially its deception
and cunning character). Again, God’s soldiers must fight while
the loins of their minds are girded up, sober and always hope
for victory amidst the painful moments of war.

God soldiers fight in the battle to win, nothing else, for loss is
not in the dictionary of God, victory belongs to Jesus and no
one can stand against the Lord and get away scot free.

All Christians at some point are engaged in spiritual warfare

fighting against the invisible enemy who sometimes plays dirty
and disrespectful. However, the ultimate goal in a spiritual
warfare fight is to win and how to do that here are the three
steps ladder to climb;

120
(a) Know the enemy you are fighting with and engage in a
fight.

This has been repeatedly said in this book because the

knowledge of the adversary is a key step to winning war.

The day we have received salvation from our Lord Jesus

Christ by rebirth is the day the enemy pounces back hardly to
frustrate our faith in God. After being saved, Satan roars to
defeat us (1 Peter 5:8), Satan schemes for our downfall from all
fronts and he puts us down.

When you have experienced rebirth in God, Satan wages

a lot of wars into our lives; perennial sicknesses, addictions,
accusations, and great temptations, only to let us down so that
he wins the fight. But here is our hope in God, when we have
this knowledge that Satan is on us to defeat us, fight back great-
ly and relentlessly through it all to overpower the devil

(b) Gunner for war using spiritual weapons

God approves spiritual war because its a lifestyle for Him

to conquer against Satan. Spiritual war is God’s expression
that He is the ruler of the world and no force in heaven and
beneath the earth can bring Him down. Spiritual wars are
public shows for God to prove Satan wrong to the whole world.
After knowing the invisible enemy, God’s soldiers must collect
spiritual weapons to fight the enemy. Above all, all soldiers
must be put on the whole armour of God and participate in the
spiritual battle.
121
(c) Fight a good fight, a fight of faith and overcome.

The battle is, but for the Lord (2 Chronicles 20:15; Exodus
14:13).

“With him is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD

our God to help us and to fight our battles.” So the people were
strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah”

When fighting with the adversary, believe, believe and

believe! That the battle is not yours but for the Lord, and the Lord
always wins in a battle. Therefore, be strengthened, fight a good
fight, a fight of faith and you will overcome the devil. It is God
who helps to fight and win our battles. Always remember that
a war that is authorised by God, He promised protection to the
warrior (Deuteronomy 20:1-4)

In as much as we keep on saying that fighting and winning

the war is the utmost thing to every God soldier, mostly the
enemy retaliates and his tactics and his long term plans to
ruin God’s children is something that every soldier must pay
attention to. Every soldier must be familiar with the enemy war
strategies and how he fights back and throws weapons upon
God’s children to demolish them right in their war rooms and
battle fields.

Most often, the enemy takes the same strategy of a snake when
it bites to paralyse the opponent. The snake injects venom in
the body that affects these body areas

122
(a) Neurotorins which affect the nerves. In the spiritual warfare
the devil will attack courage of a believer in prayer because of the
surrounding circumstances prevailing. Neurotorins quenches
the fire on the warfare prayer altar. When there is no fire on
the prayer altar God warriors becomes powerless and prone to
defeat. In a matter of fact, neurotorins weaken the belief of God
soldiers as they fight to win, every time they are weak in prayer,
the devil wins, when they are strong in prayer, they win.

“And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel
prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.”
Exodus 17:11

In a typical fight, God soldiers advance, enemies with

preternatural evil forces retaliates. When the enemy
retaliates, they spit the neurotorins to God soldiers which
weakens their prowess during the war. However, to nuetralise
such poisons, God army commandos are encouraged to
lift their hands towards the heaven on behalf of their fight
men. This is the reason why we see that, when the people of
Israel were fighting with Amalek, Moses lifted his hands to God
in prayer and they were overcoming the enemy with hands
lifted up every time. Read Exodus 17:11-16. Every time God
army commanders pray to nuetralise the power of the enemy,
God unveils Himself as “Jehovah Nissi, our banner during the
spiritual warfare”.

(b) Hemotorins; poisons that go directly into the blood. We

see devil injection ailments in the blood systems God’s soldiers.

123
Hemotorins are deadly to the blood system of God soldiers and
weakens their strength during a spiritual battle with sicknesses
such as the high Blood Pressures.

The devil leaves a God soldier grappling with such sicknesses

so that he or she gives up and withdraw from the battlefield.

(c) Cardiotorin; poison that goes directly to the heart. The

devil may attack the power House of prayer thus the heart.
With a heart attack, a God soldier is restless and helpless to
fight back against the enemy in the battlefield.

Against the pangs of Satan, it is said that the best defense is the
strong offense. It has never been easy for a spirit man to win
spiritual battles because our enemy is invisible and sometimes
he fights from unknown directions. However, in such an event
that the enemy strikes hardly, God soldiers must endure the
stabs and continue fighting from all angles until God grants
the victory. Sometimes, God does not grant the victory as per
expectation because he perceives something questionable
within the camp and/or His instructions are not properly
adhered to in the battlefield by soldiers.

It is not always guaranteed that God’s soldiers always win

the battle, it is only God who always wins, and not a mere
mortal man. God soldiers may engage in a spiritual warfare and
overcome the enemy completely or they may be overcomed
and lose a war. What happens next when God’s soldiers fail to
claim victory.

124
CHAPTER ELEVEN

LOOSING SPIRITUAL BATTLES

“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God,
and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear”.
Isaiah 59:2

Losing a spiritual battle comes the last thing for a spirit man
to think of, however, the truth is that at one time the enemy
hits back in the battlefield. The heat of the battlefield becomes
so extreme that a spirit man can not stand. Surely, this is a
moment that the enemy shoots from all fronts and to avoid
further harm, mostly God soldiers retreat, surrender and
withdraw from the battlefield. Grieved with the lost lives of
fellow soldiers in the battle field, spirit men loses hope for the
victory and sadly walks away from the battlefield.

Losing a spiritual warfare is very distressing and takes away

all the morale of remaining soldiers in spiritual camp. At this
moment, spirit men ask questions of desperation; He promised
to go before us, to defend us, to deliver us from the hands of
enemies, where is our God? In what is considered to be climax of
spiritual warfare, Jesus Christ the lion of the tribe of Judah and
the greatest warrior of all times cried out loud to God “Eli, Eli,
lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou
125
forsaken me? Matthew 27:46.

As great as Jesus Christ, He cried unto God, why He was

forsaken in the battle field to bear the pain of the entire world.
In a spiritual battle field Jesus was bruised in the body, the
spirit and soul. He was accused of the crimes he knew not, he
was spat at, he was worn the crown of thorns, he was pierced
and nailed on the cross of Calvary.

Exactly, this is what the enemy does to God’s soldiers in the

battle field. He fights until soldiers cry out to God for help as
they swiftly withdraw from the battle to let the will of God
excel. While it is normal to lose spiritual warfare among God
soldiers, a loss in the battlefield is a time to rethink on what
went wrong for them to lose the spiritual battle. There are many
reasons that makes spirit men to lose war against Satan in the
battle field. there are spirit men who lost spiritual battles on
various spiritual grounds;

(a) Joshua lost battle to Ai because of one mans Sin in the

camp

In what was described as the thrilling moment on how the

children of God conquered the city of Jericho, the next thing
coming on their way was to face the agonies of defeat at Ai
because there was sin in the camp, one of the warriors sinned.
The defeat of Ai and the sin of Achan (Joshua 7:1-26) was
something Joshua as a spirit man never saw it coming. In a matter
of fact, Ai was such as small kingdom compared to Jericho and
in real sense with the prowess of Joshua and his armies winning
126
against Ai was something very obvious. However, Joshua lost
the war against Ai because there was sin in the camp and God
could not continue saving them during the war. Joshua moved
from a thrill of victory against Jericho to the agonies of defeat
against Ai.

The sin of Achan barried Joshua from overcoming Ai.

Achan pillaged an ingot of gold, a quantity of silver, and a
“beautiful Babylonian garment” from Jericho, in contravention of
Joshua’s directive that “all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass
and iron, are consecrated unto the Lord: they shall come into the
treasury of the Lord” (Joshua 6:19).

For Achan’s personal sin all the children of Israel suffered

defeat in battle. The act of Achan resulted in the Israelites being
collectively punished by God, in that they failed in their first
attempt to capture Ai, with about 36 Israelites lost (Joshua 7:5).

The story of Israel Defeat and Achan’s sin teaches us that

once sin reigns in God’s army, there is no way out to
win spiritual battles. Spiritual battles ought to be won by
righteous soldiers, soldiers not going into the battle field for
greedy reasons and personal gains. Spiritual warfare is
premised on attaining the ultimate prize which is to save
God’s folk from Satan and personally be saved for eternal life.

(b) David lost a battle with Amalekites because of adultery

As a spirit man, David had to lead by example to live up to

the Holiness as demanded by the Most High God, the army
127
commander in spiritual military service. In 1 Samuel 30:1-6
we learn that after David committed adultery with Bathsheba,
Uriah’s wife, there were total chaos in Ziklag.

“ And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to
Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the
south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;
And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew
not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went
on their way.”

Sin in any form to a spirit man is the genesis of defeat in

the battle field. The battlefield requires the consecrated and
pure in heart. All soldiers involved in any kind of sin are not
worthy taking to the battle field. This is the reason why we see
women and children of Israel were captured byAmalekites in
the battle field. David realised his sinful nature, he wept and
repented to God to reclaim back the winning ways in the battle
field.

(c) Samson reveals source of his strength to Delilah, loses

battle against philistines

What was meant to be a secret forever was revealed to Delilah,

and that was the down fall of Samson as a spiritual warrior.
Delilah wooed Samson to sleep in her lap and called for a
servant to cut his hair. Samson lost his strength and he was
captured by the Philistines who blinded him by gouging out
his eyes. They then took him to Gaza, imprisoned him, and put
him to work turning a large millstone to grind grain.
128
And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words,
and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; That he
told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a
razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from
my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from
me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man. (Judges
16:16-17)

God soldiers lose spiritual warfare if they disclose their war

tactics and military strategies to the enemy. Any God
sanctioned soldier takes an oath of secrecy before joining the
battle fields. That is what defines a good, trusted and faith
warrior in God military service.

(d) Elijah ran away from the battle field because of fear

Sometimes it is not losing the battle against the enemy as we

always perceive, rather it is running away from the enemy in
fear that the enemy advances and attacks hard. As huge as
Elijah in ministry, he healed the sick, commanded
elements of nature, raised the dead, he run away fearing wicked
Jezebel (1 king19:4). At certain moment, Elijah even professed
to God to take his life for fear of Jezebel. Elijah was defeated in
the mind from the trickeries of Jezebel. He really felt lost and
that he could not stand again against Jezebel, for fear gripped
in through the blood, body and soul. He was really weak for a
fight. He completely lost the battle. It only took the angel of the
Lord to remind him to arise and renew his strength, overcome
his fear for the war journey to victory was still a mile away to
reach.
129
“And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and
touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too
great for thee.” 1 Kings 19:7

A spirit man must always fear fearing the enemy in the

battlefield because fear becomes the genesis of losing war.
Every spirit man must not fear nor tremble in the battle field
to emerge as victor in a spiritual battle. For God hath not
given us the spirit of fear; but of power, to overcome the enemy
(2 Timothy 1:7)

(e) Paul conceded defeat in Asia

At some point, no matter how powerful and mighty you may

be, it is good as a God soldier to concede that the enemy wins
and you lose out in battle. Paul confided to the Corinthians of
the great trouble they faced in Asia in enemy hands.

“For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our

trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of
measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of
life”2 Corinthians 1:8

Some of the battles, we fight as spirit men will require us to

denounce our faith in God and stop proclaiming the Gospel
everywhere we go. In this, the opponent presses God soldiers
beyond measure to stigmatise their belief in God, the almighty
and His words of life. The enemy would stop us from taking the
word of God far to the world. The enemy imprisons and binds
the spirit men so that they fight no more in defending God.
130
Finally, any God’s soldier who disobeys God’s instruction in
the battle field and he or she is deeply engrossed with the affairs
of this world is likely to lose the war in the battlefield. Fighting
unlawfully in the battle field also results into losing the spiritu-
al warfare.

“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this
life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned,
except he strive lawfully” (2 Timothy 2:3-5)

131
CHAPTER TWELVE

RECOVERING FROM A LOST SPIRITUAL BATTLE

“And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the
devil, who are taken captive by him at his will” 2 Timothy 2:26

There is indeed time for everything, time to win spiritual

battles and time to lose spiritual battles. But one thing God
promised to us is that He will always go before us to defend us.
You cannot be broken beyond repair. The authority to reign and
exercise total dominion still rests with you. No weapon formed
against you can prosper (Psalm 54:17) to take away your life. In
a battle field, you are good, loved, protected and well covered
up by God.

God is still in the business of keeping His promises on you

despite everything that happens in the battle field. He still loves
you. And because of His unwavering love, he surely protects
you in the middle of the storm, in the middle of fire and in the
middle of losing a spiritual battle. Certainly, if you are losing
the battle, God knows it all. He is not intending to hurt you,
but to pave way for His perfect will on your life to be done. His
angels are right there, to do just one a thing, to safe guard your
life as you tread on the path to recovery.

133
“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in
all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou
dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and
adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under
feet” (Psalm 91:11-13).

On a higher note, losing spiritual battle is a spiritual call to

action on some things that make God soldiers lose war. Losing
spiritual battle is a time of reflection to God warriors. Time to
know what went wrong personally and in their camps to lose
a battle. Winning a battle is a good thing to a spirit man, a
loss in a spiritual battle is the least expected in heaven military
service. A loss in a battle field signifies a red flag to the
goodness of God and His saving power in the battle field. “…
no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly”
(Psalm 84:11).

God soldiers must recover from the loss of a spiritual

battle. Time of recovery from a loss in a battle field is time to
restrategise for the return to the battle field and face the same
enemy.

In recovering from a los spiritual battle, we learn few things

of what God is and His eternal quest for holiness in spiritual
world.

Remember! As God soldiers, we are born of God to overcome

the world (1 John 5:4-5). Soldiers who have untapped belief in
God comes out victoriously in a battlefield. Losing a spiritual

134
battle is a sign of wavered faith in God.

As spiritual warriors, God loved us and makes us more than

conquerors in all things (Romans 8:37). We are more than con-
querors, let’s go out, fight and win a spiritual battle. That is the
expectation of God. If we lose a spiritual battle, let’s ask our-
selves, we are more than conquerors, why are we loosing the
spiritual battles?

Also, God gave us the power that no power in the kingdom

of darkness can overturn us. “Behold, I give unto you power to
tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the
enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19.
Let’s ask ourselves, with this authority against powers of the
darkness, why have we lost the spiritual battle?

Remember to ask yourself, why?, despite being given the full

armour of God (Ephesians 6:12), coming with the divine
power to demolish strongholds, arguments, devil’s pretension
and enemies knowledge of warfare that exalts itself above the
Knowledge of God (1 Corinthians 10:3-5). Why are you loos-
ing battles?

After remembering who God is in the battlefield and what did

not happen well in to their part, God soldiers are on the path
to recovery.

Steps to recovering from a lost spiritual battle

Recover from a lost spiritual battle (2 Timothy 2:26). Every

135
spiritual warrior who ever lost the battle follows a certain
spiritual step guide to come back to winning ways in the
battlefield.

(a) Recognize your failure

One thing that distinguishes heaven made warriors from

worldly warriors is the ability to recognise their failures in the
presence of God. Spirit men admits that any loss against the
enemy in the battlefield is as a result of lawlessness and the
hidden sins amongst soldiers in the spiritual camp. Biblically,
all men of God who lost battles against enemies admitted their
failures before God. Joshua admitted that one of his soldiers
[Achan] fell short of God’s glory. He sinned by not following
the instructions of war for his selfish reasons and desire for
quick riches. David acknowledged that he committed adultery
with Uriah’s wife while soldiers were at the battlefield.

(b) Repent

After recognising shortfalls in the battlefield, God soldiers

must repent or else they continue perishing in the battlefield.
Nothing good expected from spiritual warriors with
unrepentant and stubborn hearts. As a spirit man, David
repented (Psalms 51:1-5) after acknowledging his sins
before the Lord that he and his troops should be spared in the
battlefield.

In Joshua 7, we also see Joshua searching in the camp to find

out his cause of failure against Ai.
136
After finding out that one of his soldiers [Achan] sinned in
the camp, he pleaded his guilt to God. After repentance, he
emerged a victor in the next battles against Ai in chapter 10.
He even commanded the sun and the moon to stand still up
until he defeat his opponents [Amalekites] (Joshua 10:13).
Elijah also repented and admitted that he was no better than
his sinful ancestors (1 king 19:4).

(c) Rebuild your spiritual strength

In natural world when army has experienced a military loss

rebuilding of combat force is important before returning
to the battlefield. A commander analyses the problems, take
collective actions strengthen and encourage the troops in spir-
itual warfare. You must rebuild your spiritual strength.

Joshua waited before the Lord in prayer to regain

spiritual strength before returning to the battlefield ,he prayed
to discover the reason for failure and receive guidance before
proceeding to war for the second time with Ai (Joshua 7:6-15)

David fasted and prayed, later he received physical food after

the death of his child. The Lord delivered the Amalekites in
hands at ziklag and Israel triumphed in the battle (1 Samuel
30:6).

After a great contest at mount carmel with the prophets of baal,

Elijah’s life was being sought by Jezebel. Elijah run for his life
until he reached at a certain sycomore tree where he rested.
Elijah rested in 1 Kings 19:7;
137
“And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and
touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too
great for thee. And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in
the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb
the mount of God.”

After running away from the enemy in the battlefield, Elijah

rested and his strength for the battle was renewed again by a
visitation of the holy angel who gave him food to eat on his war
journey.

After a loss in a battle, God soldiers must renew their strength

through a prayer of repentance, fasting and enough rest
awaiting God’s voice for the next battle.

Losing a spiritual warfare does not mean a spiritual warrior

must separate him or herself away from God. This is the time to
draw nigh to God to strategise for returning to the battle field.
God still loves us even if we lose spiritual battle with the enemy.
He still hopes the best in us. In Romans 8:35, Paul challenged
us that nothing can separate us from God, not even losing a
spiritual battle.

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall

tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or
nakedness, or peril, or sword?”

(d) Return to the battlefield

This time around, after repenting and renewing your strength,

138
return to the battlefield and conquer. God is with you and
He will deliver you, only believe! Joshua returned to AI and
conquered the same military force which defeated him in
the first place. David after loss at ziklag he returned to the
battlefield and conquered Amalekites after God assured him
of the victory (1 Samuel 30:18-19). Elijah recovered and went
back to the battlefield fully fortified to triumph over Jezebel
and her prophets of Baal.

The return to the battlefield is always great and every soldier is

extra carefully in not repeating the same mistakes that made
them loose the battle. Only the righteous soldiers march for
war. Soldiers also cement their belief in God as their salvation.
As Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 soldiers morale to conquer
is so much great as the chant together mightily while marching
on against enemy;
“We were once troubled on every side,
yet we were not distressed;
we were perplexed,
but not in despair;
Persecuted,
but we were not forsaken;
cast down,
but we were not destroyed”
Here we come again,
To reclaim our victory
Here we come again;
To save the wounded soldiers

139
Here we come again;
God always wins

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

…AND THERE WAS LIGHT

03.10.2019, the morning

In a breezy morning, the day began with beautiful

promises of the whole new life, new hope and all the zeal for
God kingdom service. Witnessing the rising sun far from the
hills with its light starring along the waters of Lake Malawi, I was
rest assured of God’s awesomeness. The beauty of nature was
adored to the extreme. I chanted in my heart, who can compare
to His faithfulness? Who can compare to His awesomeness?
Indeed no one, no one else, other than a so great God as my
God and is incomparable.

Surely, the day pitched itself to me in great way. I loved

everything; the rising sun, the gentle wind and the sweet
melodies of the singing birds in the sky, life was really
spectacular on this day. Early in the morning I joined the host
of angels singing songs of praises and worship to God, the
almighty. That day, I was so sure of a great day, looking at the
songs I was singing in unison with the four living creatures in
the heaven. I eternally sung together with them; Holy, Holy
Holy, is the Lord God almighty, which was, and is and is to
come. It was a glorious moment for me, and I even joined the
twenty four elders, bowing down and casting all my burdens
141
unto Him who lives forever.

As I stepped fourth out of the bed, in my heart I said; good

morning Holy spirit, my senior partner, may you be with me
today, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ everywhere
I go, ooh! Lord, for this is my prayer to you today. After my
routine prayer, I was so certain that my God has heard my
prayers and answered them as He does every day.

All was just rosy to me, smiles and happiness all over me.
This kind of God is always great. After taking my shower and
breakfast, I was set for Quarterly Review meeting at Sunbird,
Nkopola, Mangochi. That was on Friday, perhaps, the last day
of the meeting, and at exactly, 7:30am we started off from where
we were lodging to the venue of the meeting

03.10.2019, the meeting

As usual, the meeting began at around 8:30am. We were the first

ones in our department to present our quarterly work plans on
that day. I was the one to present, and I presented successful-
ly. We also addressed all the comments and issues that arose
from our presentation. In our department, we were happy and
geared up for implementation of work plans and hopeful for
yet another successful quarter.

After, a presentation, I went back to my seat. Time to listen to

other presentation. In all, I liked the synergy, the zeal and the
selfless service of team members in perfecting departmental
work plans. We all took a break for breakfast at 10:30am as
142
we waited to call off the meeting and travel back to Lilongwe.
The breakfast was short and we all returned to the conference
hall for final presentations.

In midst of presentations, something so strange happened to

me. My heart leaped off twice, and the next thing, I collapsed
I believe because until now I don’t know what happened.
Thank you so much NLGFC family for not letting me of what
happened to me on that day, it tears me apart psychologically.

While in a coma, some strange things continued to happen.

There was total darkness, and there was a great struggle such
that I have never experienced in my life before. This was a
tussle for life. Life was not possible to me on that day. I
struggled mightily and my strength was not enough to carry
me, I was overpowered from every side. I couldn’t see anything,
darkness ruled everywhere. However, God is good, one thing
that came into me, in midst of a struggle was a whisper that
came gently; I am your God, take courage, keep on fighting.,
you will overcome.

…and there was light, not just light, but a holy and saving
illumination into my eyes to show me the way to escape. A
thin light that separated me from the darkness, to have my way
through. That is how I gained my consciousness, back to my
life and I asked softly what was happening, no one seemed to
reply. And I saw touched faces all over, I was in the presence of
my family, no one could say anything, but to sympathize with
me. The next thing I overhead, please take him to the hospital,
and that happened within a span of five minutes.
143
03.10.2019, the hospital

On my way to the hospital, I asked Hanif where are we going?.

He reluctantly answered “we are going to the hospital” I asked
again, who is sick? He remained quiet, after some minutes of
silence, he said let’s keep going

We were welcomed by a signpost, Welcome to KOCHE

HEALTH CENTRE

While at the hospital, restless and helpless, my heart was not

in its normal place, I watched Hanif buying for me a health
passport book. Though I was at the hospital, I insisted,
Hanif! I am just okay, I am not sick, just that some strange things
happened to me.

I went through a series of tests, one of which I remember was

a malaria test because of the pierce on my left hand finger to
collect blood samples. No malaria was found in me. I
continued saying, I am not sick, I am just okay.

We went to the pharmacy, they prescribed me with pain relief

drugs for me. Later, we left the hospital, in good spirit. All is
well, all is well.

03.10.2019, on the way to Lilongwe

All was set to travel back to Lilongwe, I joined the rest of the
team members in a Coaster. I received a lot of calls, my mother

144
was desperate and crying. My father too was terrified, because
in my entire life no such a thing had ever happened to me since
birth. I assured them all, including my aunt Alice, Kizito and
Lucia Zgambo, that I am okay and I am coming home good
and safe, they needed not to worry about me.

On the journey, we reached at some place, and I joined my

colleagues in buying tomatoes, Irish potatoes and cabbages. I
was just okay by the time, talked to everyone, and we laughed
too. However, my heart was not stable, at one point I vomited
for some good minutes, but still I took courage that I am okay,
and we journeyed on.

At around 9:00pm hours, we reached home, and that was

the time I realized that I can’t eat my tongue was badly hurt.
It seemed I had a convulsion, maybe it was that, I had a lot
of teeth bites on my tongue. I slept without eating, even if I
wanted I could not eat.

04.10.2019, on the road to town [Lilongwe]

It was a good day for us, I tried to take some ljuices that
was the only kind of food I could eat comfortably. In the
morning, I washed my clothes just in good health. God is good,
he surely saves his anointed.

Later, in the afternoon, around 3:00pm hours, we were on

the road from NRC to town to do two to three things. I was
communicating with my Dad, he was checking on me almost

145
every hour. He seemed to be touched, with wounds in my
mouth I couldn’t talk properly. But at least, I assured him, that
all is well.

Alas! Something terrible, happened when I was on the phone,

my voice went off, I couldn’t speak anymore, if I was speaking
no one could hear me, I was speaking in unknown language
after that. My dad was forced to hang up the call, he
called my aunt, “iwe mwana wako wakuyowoya vambula
kupulikwika”. The most terrifying thing I did was to trying to
open the door while the car moving. Thanks to Kizito and Lu-
cia, they took hold of me while the car was moving, I couldn’t
speak, what they heard was me speaking in tongues, they were
terrified. The car slowed down and we stopped somewhere near
a tree, planning to return home. Yes we were returning home,
the trip to the town seemed to have failed.

After, driving for a distance going back home, I asked “I thought

we are going to town?” Why are we returning home? My voice
came back and I was able to speak again. There was a total
silence in the car, but we stopped somewhere and recollected
ourselves, to continue with our journey to town.

0.5.10.2019, on my way to Zion City

Saddened with a series of events, Aunt Alice called for me to

visit him at Bua in Kasungu. The following morning I travelled
alone by bus and I reached Bua good and safe. At seeing me, I
could see tears on her face. She didn’t believe how I was looking
and what the news that I convulsed. It was disturbing news
146
to her, but I said aunt don’t worry for my life, ooh! Yeah, I
am a messenger of the most High God, I am good, loved and
protected by the blood of Jesus Christ.

She was uncomfortable sitting next to me, she always wanted

to sob. And I left her for prayers, Manyani mountains, a place I
call Zion city for an encounter with God.

I cried to God, why have you allowed shame over my life, why
have you allowed the enemy to compass me and destroy my life
this way. But only one thing, I heard in my prayer of grief:

“...for that I consider, that the sufferings of this present time are
not worth to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed
to you” (Romans 8:18)

I pressed on prayer all day and night long, God assured me, I
am your God, I will always save you. You have an assignment
with me, you will live to fulfill that.

I felt relieved when I saw a flickering light in front of me, with a

voice “I am your God, I am your Salvation, “I am your light, the
light that prevaileth the darkness.”

The return from Zion city was a great moment, it just took away
the shame, the pain and everything that disturbed my life. I felt
loved by God. I felt God more than what people would think of
my life amidst the tempest. God is God, He saves, He will never
allow the feet of a righteous man to slip away.

147
05.10.2019, the war within.

I couldn’t understand series of events happening around my

life all at once. At least, I realized the battle is not mine but for
the Lord. So I needed to watch from afar how God fights and
triumphs on my behalf. I was so confident that even if these
were attacks, I am good and safe in the comfort arms of the of
the almighty God.

However, there was war within me, the war of thoughts,

on how I was going to face everyone and mentally recover
from the devil’s big shot in my life. I felt a fierce inner battle
inside me, in trenchant and scrutiny of my life for a stand with
God, and then the attacks the maimed body and then faint
spirit. It was not easy.

The magnitude of the attack was too much and devastating, I

cried out to God for my deliverance. I asked God for a favour,
for my people only, I should live and as for me I had nothing to
lose. But my people could have taken long to heal

06.10.2019__, my life, my testimony, my story

No doubt, I live a conquering and victorious life. Through the

fire, I eagerly walk and unhurt, through the storms, through
the thick and thin, I still survive. In ensnares I always have my
way through to the next mile. God keeps and preserves me,
He has an assigned destiny with this life. God is my defender,
my horn of salvation, my restorer, my life giver, God is just my
everything.
148
In 2016, back in the college days, some strange things also
happened to me. This was also a time of shattered dreams and
a doomed destiny. No one expected me to continue with my
studies, the only option left for me was to withdraw. Some
strange sicknesses cropped in, hospitals failed to diagnose. But
God intervened, He fought for me and here we stand strong
and mighty to testify about the goodness of the Lord. God
is a powerful healer, when the wisdom of men failed to heal
my sickness, God came in and healed me completely. Life has
to journey, I finished my studies with a great reward and a
testimony to the world, that which comes from God can not be
limited for God is unlimited in all His ways. He saves His elect
and never allows His anointed ones to be touched and tortured
beyond what they can bear.

This be my testimony, if not for God, where could I have

been today? I could have been left to rot in the grave. If God
allowed my life to wrestle away alone, I could have been a dead
person by now. Thanks be to God almighty for saving my life.
The light, God provided to me amidst the tempest, amidst
the fire, amidst the storms, was enough to have me saved and
forever live a testimony.

This be my story. God has made me to wrestle through it all.

Everytime the enemy punches me, God stand in my gap, He
defends me. God has made me the realest warrior that i am

God bless.
