1. A boy wanted to type first 200 natural numbers. How many times he has to press the keys?

4. A monkey which is at foot of 10 m wall is trying to climb the wall. For every minute it climbs up
3m and next minute slips by 2m. Find the time taken by the monkey to climb the wall.

5. There is a closed wooden box in which a bulb is placed. There is a circuit box with 3 switches on
it in which one of them works for the bulb. By opening the box only once, how can you say
which switch works for the bulb?

6. You are about to leave for holiday, but you forgot socks! You race back to your room, but all the
lights are off, so you can't see the color of the socks.
Never mind, because you remember that in your drawer there are ten pairs of white socks, ten
pairs of black socks, and eleven pairs of blue socks, but they are all mixed up.
How many of your socks do you need to take before you can be sure to have at last one matching
pair?

7. You have a pile of 24 coins. Twenty-three of these coins have the same weight, and one is
heavier. Your task is to determine which coin is heavier and do so in the minimum number of
weighing. You are given a beam balance (scale), which will compare the weight of any two sets
of coins out of the total set of 24 coins. How many weighing are required to identify the heavier
coin?
8. Three people check into a hotel. They pay £30 to the manager and go to their room. The manager
suddenly remembers that the room rate is £25 and gives £5 to the bellboy to return to the people.
On the way to the room the bellboy reasons that £5 would be difficult to share among three
people so he pockets £2 and gives £1 to each person. Now each person paid £10 and got back £1.
So they paid £9 each, totaling £27. The bellboy has £2, totaling £29. Where is the missing £1?
9. There are 3 banks each with a guard at entrance and exit. Anyone who visits bank has to give Rs.
4 to the watch man at entrance. After entering the bank, the amount left will be doubled. To come
out of the bank, person has to give Rs.4.This procedure has to be followed for all three banks. A
person visited the three banks and came out with Rs. 0. Find the initial amount with the person.

10. You have two buckets - one holds exactly 5 gallons and the other 3 gallons. How can you
measure 4 gallons of water into the 5 gallon bucket?
(Assume you have an unlimited supply of water and that there are no measurement markings of
any kind on the buckets.)

11. Replace each letter by a digit. Each letter must be represented by the same digit and no beginning
letter of a word can be 0.
