Introduction

Before using your printer, please read the following safety instructions to
make sure you use the equipment safely and effectively:
Tips contain important information about your printer.
Cautions must be observed to avoid damage to your printer.
Warnings must be followed carefully to avoid bodily injury.
Notes some additional hints on how to use your printer

Tips

 All rights reserved by our company, could not be used without

permission.
 There should be an authorized technician when install our printer, in
order to keep safety.

Cautions

 When setting up the printer, make sure you have enough space around
it. You may need more space around the printer if you print on large
sheets of heavy stock.
 Avoid places subject to rapid changes in temperature and humidity.
Also keep the printer away from direct sunlight, strong light, or heat
sources (Temp range:59℉ to 86℉, Hum range 50% to 80%)
 Avoid places subject to shocks and vibrations.
 Keep the printer away from dusty areas.
 Be sure connected the reliable earth wire, especially of the mainboard.
Do not use the same socket with copy printer or air conditioner.
 Do not connect the earth wire on the following place：

  Gas tubing, there is a possibility of ignition and explosion.
 Telephone cables, heavy current might flow whenever a lightning
strikes
 Avoid the possible magnetic field. Such as electric drill, high-power
electric equipment.
 Please connect the following power: 50Hz. 220V (± 10%) > 15 A, or it
may cause a fire.
 Do not use aging or cracked wire.
 Do not maintain the printer by yourself without training.
 Turn off the power immediately and contact with the supplier when the
following happens:
 Liquid into the nozzle；
 Printer could not work normally.
 Please ware a antistatic gloves when touch the board if it possible. Or
not please keep your hand dry. Do not touch the middle of board by
your hand directly.

Warnings

 Do not touch the carriage or motor when printer is working.

 When you insert or pull out any cables or electronic boards, you must
power off the printer; and you need to power off the computer
 Keep the ink tank out of reach of children, do not taste it.
 If ink contacts the skin and eyes, flush with soap and water immediately.
Even see doctor to get medical aid.

Assembling the printer

1. When you get the machine, please assembly the package, and use a forklift
to move out the whole machine.
2. Please note that the carriage is fixed on the beam, please find the screw
driver to move out.
3. Find the water cooling box( for UV version only), and connect it with
machine body. Like photo shows:

Water cooling box instruction

◆This box is aim to cooling the UV LED lamp, so when you turn on the
machine, please make sure to turn on this set also.
◆When the environment temperature is under 0 ℃， please pour out the
cold water and add the anti-freezing solution instead of it.  
1. Connect the cable on the box:
1) When you get this box, please turn on the water box cover, and input
the cold water into it. it is better for clean cold water.
2) Connect the soft tube on to “IN” &”OUT”, any tube connect to any one is
ok.
3) Connect the black cable to “ES”
4) Connect 2 grey cable on “UV1”, “UV2”, please match the cable mark to
insert. If opposite them, the UV lamp on and off will be on different time.
Connect the power cable of this box.

2. Control the cooling box
1) When you connect all the cable, you could turn on the cooling box
power button.
2) For the power control, it is depend on the material, the stronger, the UV
lamp stronger, also the temperature to the material will be higher.
3) The PID shows the UV lamp water temperature, not the UV lamp
working temperature, please note that.
4) The suggest power setting is from 20 to 90.

2. Notes of printhead
 When get the printhead and printhead cable, make sure it clean and in
good condition.
 Keep your hand dry and clean, when you need to touch the printhead
or the printhead cable.
 Please wait several seconds when you need to touch the printhead,
because the printhead and board system all need time discharging
electricity.
 Please touch the reliable earth wire to avoid static electricity before
touch printhead and board system.
 If you have turn on the printer, please do not touch the printhead cable.
Do not splash any liquid into the socket of the printhead.
 Carefully check the printhead cable if any slanting, anti-insert,
dislocation to the printhead.

3. Installation of DX5 printhead

1). Please find the printhead cables with 31pins and printhead. Bend the
cable at about 2cm. Insert the cable to the top line. The blue side is
downward as shown.

 Cautions：
 On the carriage board the blue side of the printhead cable should be
also downward at the top line;
 The blue side of printhead cable should be upward at the bottom line of
carriage board.
 One cable connect the top line on both printhead and carriage board.
 Make sure the printer is power off and the power cord has been plug
out.

4. Installing the DX8 heads

1). Please find the printhead cables with 29 pins and printhead by total 8
pieces
4 pieces are longer one, they need connect from head to small
connector board
4 pieces are shorter one, they need to connect from small connector
board to Carriage board
2) Connector way please match the marks on the cables as shown:
Left head on the carriage (For white or Color)

Right head on the carriage(For color only)

 3) Then on the carriage boards:

Please note that the left head need to connect onto the right side of
carriage board;The right head need to connect onto the left side of the
carriage board.

 Three heads version:

 Cautions：
 The blue side of the printhead cable should be downward at the top line
of printhead;
 The blue side of the printhead cable should be upward at the bottom
line of printhead.
 Please check carefully the metal pins outside of the connection
interface are even, have the same length, which means the cables
have connected well. If the pins outside of the connection interface are
not even, please re insert the cables. Or it will damage the printhead.
2). Put the printhead onto the carriage support carefully. Avoid the surface
of the nozzle touching any sharp part of printer.
3). On the carriage side:

Adjust physical position of printhead.

1．Move the carriage to the flat form, and then put the metal sheet to down to
the printhead. Adjust the carriage upwards or downward by four screws
besides as shown;
2．Adjust the printhead forwards or backwards by two screws at front of
carriage as shown.

 3. Move the carriage back to the capping position.
4. Connect the other side of printhead cable on to the carriage board.

Connecting your printer

1. Make sure that both the printer and the computer are off.
2. Plug the power cord to the AC inlet on the back of the printer and a properly
grounded electrical outlet.
3. Plug the USB cable into the appropriate port on the printer and then the
other end of the cable into the appropriate connector on your computer.
4. After installing the control software into your computer, just turn on the
power, you could control your printer.（Please find the pages about the
control software installation in the following pages.）
5. Install the printer driver as the following steps:
a) Find the unknown devices then updating it as photo show:

Load the ink

1. Pour ink into the ink tank . (from right to left should be K C M Y LC LM W)
2. Insert the ink tube into the ink tank by matched color.
3. Turn on the printer and control software. Then machine will check the signal
from computer. Then the machine software will show online successfully.
4. Click Parameters and then function and choose head then click load ink.
Head1 for Color head
Head2 for white head
Head3 for Varnish head
You could choose to pump only one head or 2 heads pump at same ink.

5. Check all the dampers have ink in it. It means we have load the ink into
printhead, and we could start to print now.
6. If for UV ink, please make sure avoid of sunshine.

Software instruction

When you open the control software, if the machine has no power or the USB
cable does not connect it will show “Failed to initialize the printer” and also
show error.

If the USB cable is connected to the printer well and the printer initialize
successfully it will show “the machine are ready for work”, you can check it by
the left bottom if it says connected (high).

 How to do the print work

There is 2 ways are provided to start the printing work.

First way: click the “task choice”, and choose the target file (PRN), and it will
be found on the preview area. Then right click on the target task and choose
“add to print queue”. Also you can double-left click on the target task.

If you finished all the steps above, then the task properties dialogue appears
like the picture below.

There are some functions provided below by the task properties model.
1. Pass model: you could choose the printing pass you need, but it must same
as rip software.
2.Regional print: if √ regional button，then you can choose the print area on
the left preview area.
3.Repeat print: you could mark it and input how many times you want to print
for one picture. It will finish one time for whole picture, and then do the
second time.
4.Multiple settings: please ignore this function, it can’t work now.
5.Ink statistic: Click here it will show the ink usage for each color
6. Ink control: Click here to control each color ink usage. Become density or
light.
If all the settings are finished, click ok button. Then the target task will appears
on the print queue like the picture below：

Second way: click “open” button then appears the path, choose the target task
then open it :

Also you can double-left click on the target task. Then the task properties
dialogue appears like the pictures below ,please operate as the first way.

Print Control Panel instruction

Click “Print control” panel it will shows as bellowing:

There are some options are available for you to alter below:

1.Margin width（X direction）

If you enter 15mm into the blank of margin width it means the print origin starts
at the X direction with 15mm distance from the original point.
2. Y margin
If not√into the blank of，the carriage doesn’t move at Y direction ,it start to print
at current position.
If√Y margin, and enter 20mm into the blank of Y margin it means the print origin

starts at the Y direction with 20mm distance from the original point.
3. Color bar
If not √ color bar ,the color bar won’t appear on the picture margin ,only print
the target task.
If √ color bar ,the color bar will appear on the piture margin together with the
target task(you can set the color bar in the parameters).
4. White ink print
If not√ white ink print button, you can only print 4/6 colors(KCMY/KCMY LC
LM)pictures. If you want to print 5 colors(KCMY+W)in current mode, then it
appears “ error” the print color channel number is greater than the permit color
channel number”
If √ white ink print button，you can print 5 colors(KCMY+W),if you want to print 4
color in the current mode, then it appears “error” the print color channel number
is greater than the permit color channel number”.
5. Queue printing
If not √queue printing button, it will print the target picture that you have chosen.
If √queue printing button, it will print all the target pictures one after another.
6. Material thickness
This button is mainly used for UV flatbed printer, enter the exact material
thickness number , you can add a little to the original number of thickness.
7. Print speed
There is 3 kinds of speed model are provided: low-speed, mid-speed
And high-speed, every kind of speed should be modified in motion setting
Button.
8. About print -direction
There is 3 kinds of the model are provided ：bi-direction, to-left,
To-right. When you choose bi-direction.
9. Stepping-trimming: adjust the stepping date during printing

10. Bi-turning: adjust the bi-direction date during printing.

About Parameters:

Click parameters button, you can set the parameters below

1. White-ink setting
There are 7 kinds of white ink function:
Bottom: means print white as under color, it will print white first and then
other colors;
Top: it will first finish printing other colors then white color as cover.
Spot: it means white as the fifth color, you need to set our photo in Photoshop
to setting the fifth color channel. Then white color print out with other
color at same time.
If not √ white-ink back, white and color ink print at same time.
If √ white-ink back, the carriage will move to the end of picture on Y

 direction, and then print back to the initial Y position. For this mode,
color head will print in advance and then white head. But all will finish at
one time.
Bottom + light: it need machine with vanish head. It work will be white, then
color, then vanish. All it will print at one time.
Light + top: it need machine with vanish without white.
Light: Only print the vanish.
White: Only print white.
White-ink back: This is for back side printing. Click this, then print will print
from the picture back side to front side, and print color then white. It normally
worth in Mirror function in setting

If any changes setting, please do click apply to save the settings.

Clean option

This is setting the cleaning during printing.

If you mark it, then it will cleaning during printing as your setting for pass. But
we don’t suggest to clean it during printing.
Clean mode: this setting for flash or clean the head.
Frequency: means for cleaning frequency.
Cleaning time: fast ,middle or slow. We suggest for middle.

Color bar setting: Setting the color bar on printing work. UV suggest open it.

Flash Jetting

 This Flash Jetting is about the Flash level when the car stops at flash jetting
area.it has nothing to do with Auto cleaning, when you set the parameters ok
you should click the Home button to make it come into effect.

Feather

It is feather function. Please choose FOG A mode, then level setting as 60%
or above.

Material setting

It is default settings, please keep it.

Other

Y Speed: This is carriage move speed on Y direction. Please set as default

date.
Auto feed after printed: it setting the move distance on Y direction when finish

 a printing job. If you need it., please mark it.
Skip White: Skip blank area on your photo when no white parts need to print.
Mirror: Make the printing picture mirror on the material.
Auto fill ink: It need with sub-tank system. For us, please ignore it.
Even Mode: please keep on mark.

How to adjust the printhead

1. Bi-Dir offset

:
Please make sure to finish the vertical calibration and then do this bi-direction.
Firstly, please choose a fixed resolution to finish test, and then fill up the same
date on the other resolution is ok.
For example: choose 180, then choose the speed you may need to work, such
as fast, and then click “print”, to check the test bar till the “0” line overlap. Such
as 18. Then input 18 into 240dpi and 360 dpi also.
Different speed, the bi-direction date will be different. So if change date, please
do this calibration again.

2. Stepping:
Please make sure the motor gears rate setting is perfect, and then do this
setting.
Firstly choose the Base step, then doing the test bar, to find the most strait line
and then input into revise and keep it.
Do several times, till the 0 line will be ok.

3. Color offset
For this setting, H00 for color head. H01 for white head. H02 for
varnish head. H03 please ignore it.
H01 is the standard head. So please make sure all date in here is 0.
Can’t be changed any time.
Ver for vertical directly adjust.
Right / Left for the left or right direction adjust. (here 2 date must be keep
same for all channels. )

1) We adjust this during printing picture. Like my photo shows:

4. Head space setting:
This is setting the physical heads distance between 2 heads. This value unit
is pixel.

5. Head Selected:

 The head which head cable insert into Left side of carriage board is
named as Printhead1
The head which head cable insert into Right side of carriage board is
named as Printhead2.

Maintenance
Motor Setting 

 
For this parts, please don’t try to revise it without official engineers
instruction.

X motor Configuration: This is setting the carriage speed on X direction under

different mode of speed and gear rate of motor.
Setting gear rate: Input a small date in move, such as 800, click move, then
software will shows the move distance on X direction, if the move distance
large than input date, then gear ratio will reduce or opposite, and then click
apply and repetition. And then input a larger date, and move again. Till the
move distance same as shows distance.
Y motor configuration: Setting the Y direction motor move speed and gears
rate.
Setting gear rate: Input a small date, such as 500, click move, and then use a
ruler to measure the exactly date input into “length”, then click calculate, and
apply. And then input a larger date, such as 600, and measure it. Till the move

 distance same as the input date. Then save it is ok.
Z motor configuration: Setting the Z direction(carriage up and down) gears
rate .The test way is same as Y gear rate setting.

Platform control

Car height position: It is show the car height at present.

Jog length: it is for the move distance on Z position of car when you click the
arrow.
Lifting –speed: Z car move up or down speed. It is default speed on factory, so
please don’t change it.
Test position: It is working with auto height sensor. It is the move distance of X
direction. Then when you click: Auto Test Height , the carriage will go to top and
then move to that distance and go down to sensor the material.

Set Material Height: Firstly, you need to move the carriage into platform.
Then you click: ，the carriage move up or down by the jog length setting
every time, when it move to the distance you need, click here, it will finish the
height at present. Then when you start to print, the carriage will print at this
height.
Car height back to zero: click here, the car will go up to down to 0 position.
Move to the print height: click here, car will go up or down to the setting
height directly.

Cleaning Option

★In this parts, if you do any change, you must click apply to save it.
★Please don’t change any date in here. All should be default date.

Voltage setting

Print mode: there is 10 kinds of print mode. We suggest for mode “Single
dot 3”at present.
Voltage offset: This is can adjust the head fire voltage. The bigger voltage the
ink drop will larger, the smaller voltage, the ink drop will smaller. All this we
have set for default date, please don’t change it.

Basic Setting

Base step value: It is default value, please ignore it.
Position offset: Adjust the printing original. If the original value is different from
the printing setting position, then use this function for the first time.
Acceleration distance: this is default vale, please don’t change it.
Original config: it is adjust the capping position. Add the carriage move to left,
and reduce move towards right.
For 4 color head, it should be K Y C C M M .

Maintaining the Printer

Maintaining the printhead

1. Clean the printhead and test the printhead before your daily work.
2. Don’t touch the surface of printhead. Or it may damage the printhead.
3. When you stop working for more than 2 minutes, please click the button on
the computer to cap the printhead. Especially for eco-solvent ink.
4. When you finish your daily work, please turn off the power and plug out the
printer and computer.
5. If you do not use the printer for more than one two week, please inject
special solvent which for Epson head only into the printhead softly. And
then use the preservative film to cover the surface of printhead.

Checking Ink tank

1. Check the ink tank and waste ink tank before your daily work. Please pour
the same type of ink into ink tank on time.
2. Do not pour waste ink into sewage line.
3. If you need to change different company ink, please clean the ink system in
advance. (Do not use the running water to clean them, it may clog the
head)

Period maintain

1. Clean and oil carriage linear guide bearing block monthly.

2. Tighten all set screws on the printer roller bearings and rollers.
