Tank dimension

A ground reinforced concrete tank and circular is chosen with diameter of 8meter given an
allowance of overflow and cleaning a depth of 2.6 will be appropriate with 3.5 above the
ground to ensure minimum water stress on the tank wall
3.4 Wall and floor slab
The wall shall be 225mm thick and made of masonry work. The floor slab should be 250mm.
the reinforced must be 12mm diameter bar c/c 200 on top and diameter 8mm bar c/c on the
bottom as per bending schedule
4.0 Pipeline
Introduction
This involves connection from the source to storage tank from where the water will be
distributed to the consumer through gravity. Some of the stress to be observed when designing
and constructing pipeline include;
Topography map showing the location of the pipeline and the profile of ground along the rate
to be followed
A pipeline flow of the ground and its location should be such as to reduce construction cost
and internal pressure
