Course Title: Advanced Adult Health Nursing 1

Course Pre-requisite: Core/ Cognate Courses

Course Description:

Theoretical foundations of advanced adult nursing practice is a 3 unit graduate course to develop and
equip the professional nurse with the foundation knowledge, attitude and skills in the role performance in
one's area of clinical specialization such as educator, practitioner and researcher. The focus of the course
is the study of the various theories, researches and evidences as sound bases to enhance the practice of
caring for an adult, family or community.

Course Objectives
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:

1. Examine and critique the current practice of nursing.


2. Analyze and critique nursing theories.
3. Present and critique the applicability of a research study to nursing practice.
4. Develop a program proposal supported with a nursing theory and an evidenced base research
study.
