II - PREAMBLE
The GEN 44i can be used to start scripts on input switching, incoming calls and on a low voltage threshold when used with a battery.

- Possibilities of the unit:

- Definition of an initialisation script using a set of macro-commands.

- Definition of the inputs (recognition time, simple or double, release condition)
- Definition of one script per input (8 for double contacts on the inputs + 1 on the Ring
indicator (incoming call), +1 on the low battery threshold) using a set of macro-
commands.

Possible macro-commands:

- Activate or deactivate the outputs (4 outputs available).

- Send ASCII messages to the internal GSM: Hayes commands, ASCII
messages …
- Send a GSM short message (SMS).
- Interconnect the V24 PROG SYSTEM and GSM serial link.
- Start a wait timeout.
- Drive the internal GSM power supply.
- Drive the DTR signal of the internal GSM.
- Wait for acknowledgement by:
- ASCII messages
- Short message (SMS)
- DTMF Code
Descriptions and non-contractual illustrations in this document are given as an indication only. ERCO&GENER reserves the right to

EG_GEN 44i_963_CL_002_UK.doc Page 11 / 55

- Wait for a DTMF code

- Test of received DTMF code
- Test if the GSM network is present
- Transfer remote contacts.
- Display the Inputs/Outputs locally or remotely.
- Download scripts locally or remotely.

- Power up:

On power up with the memory blank, the GEN 44i is in the following condition:

- Inputs: deactivated
- Outputs: open
- Internal GSM DTR: active
- Internal GSM: supplied
- Dialogue format: 8-bit, no parity
- External link : RS232

Descriptions and non-contractual illustrations in this document are given as an indication only. ERCO&GENER reserves the right to

EG_GEN 44i_963_CL_002_UK.doc Page 12 / 55

- Dialogue mode:
To access this mode, a terminal is required that can be configured at 9600 baud, 8 bits and no parity (such as Windows HyperTerminal).

Principle:
- Connect the serial output on your terminal to the GEN 44i via the V24 PROG
SYSTEM connector.
- Set the terminal to 9600 baud, 8 bits, no parity (default format).
- Send the escape sequence: the "-" character 3 times by respecting a minimum
1.5-second holding time before and when sending characters.
- The GEN 44i then sends back the message: DIALOGUE MODE

From this moment, the GEN 44i is ready to receive commands.

DIALOGUE MODE is quitted after a 1-minute timeout if no characters pass, or directly with
the command AT#.

Note: This mode can also be accessed remotely (see chapter IX)

- Local download mode:

To access this mode, a terminal is required that can be configured to 9600 baud, 8 bits, no
parity and that manages XON XOFF (example: Windows HyperTerminal) and a text editor
that can save a file in text mode (.TXT) such as Word, WordPad or Notepad in Windows.

Downloading principle with "Word" and "HyperTerminal":

- Write the script in Word.

- Save the file in text format (.TXT).
- Connect the serial output of the terminal to the GEN 44i via the V24 PROG
SYSTEM connector.
- Set the terminal to 9600 baud, 8 bits, no parity, XON XOFF (default format).
- Send the ASCII character "*" 3 times (2A in hexadecimal):
- The GEN 44i sends back the message: DOWNLOAD MODE
- Send the text file by using the HyperTerminal "Transfer" function:
Send text file…
- If you have taken the precaution of placing the AT# command at the end of
your file, then the GEN 44i sends back DOWNLOADING COMPLETE.
Otherwise, the GEN 44i stays in download mode.

ò Caution! Downloading does not overwrite all the scripts saved in the GEN 44i.
Only the modified scripts are affected. After downloading, the GEN 44i
reinitialises and restarts the power up script.

Descriptions and non-contractual illustrations in this document are given as an indication only. ERCO&GENER reserves the right to
make any modifications.
EG_GEN 44i_963_CL_002_UK.doc Page 13 / 55

- Remote download mode:

The GEN 44i can also download a new script remotely via a modem connection at 9600
bits/s.
To access this mode, a specific remote downloading script must have been loaded beforehand
(see example in chap. IX) and a modem calling at 9600 bit/s associated to a terminal that manages
XON XOFF is required (see previous chapter).

Remote downloading principle:

- Connect the modems at 9600 bits/s.

- Send the ASCII character "*" 3 times (2A in hexadecimal):
- The GEN 44i sends back the message: DOWNLOAD MODE
- Send the update text file.
- The GEN 44i sends back DOWNLOAD COMPLETE.
- Disconnect the modems

ò Caution!
 Downloading does not overwrite all the scripts saved in the GEN 44i, only
the modified scripts are affected.
 After downloading, the GEN 44i reinitialises and restarts the power up
script.

- V24 Prog System and GSM Interconnection mode:

This mode can be used to have a direct link (TX and RX) between the V24 PROG
SYSTEM and the GSM.
To access this mode, a terminal is required that can be configured to 9600 baud, 8 bits
and no parity (such as Windows HyperTerminal).
Principle:
- Connect the serial output of your terminal to the GEN 44i via the V24 PROG
SYSTEM connector.
- Set the terminal to 9600 baud, 8 bits, no parity (default format).
- Send the escape sequence: the character "G" 3 times by respecting a
minimum 1.5-second holding time before and when sending characters.
- The GEN 44i then sends back the message: INTERCONNECTION MODE

From this moment, the direct link is established.

INTERCONNECTION MODE is quitted after a 1-minute timeout if no characters pass, or

directly with the AT# command.

Descriptions and non-contractual illustrations in this document are given as an indication only. ERCO&GENER reserves the right to
make any modifications.

III - AT* COMMANDS

Each command must finish with the end-of-line carriage return character (0D in
hexadecimal). The commands can be sent in upper or lower case characters.

- AT*INIT: Definition of the actions on power up

This command defines the different actions when the GEN 44i is powered up. The actions
may concern the initial state of the outputs and the initialisation of the internal GSM
modem.
The initialisation script has a memory space of 500 bytes (see APPENDIX IV) and must
always end with the END command.

Example:

AT*INIT

CDEALI=C // Close the GSM power supply

O1=C // Close output 1
O2=O // Open output 2
MESA=ATE0Q1O0=1 // Send an init. String to the GSM.
END // End of initialisation.

- AT*E: Define and display the alarm inputs

For the Definition, the command format is:

AT*E=< Input N° (1 to 5)>,< recognition time (0 to 5999 in 10ms steps)>,< input NO

or NC>,< simple or double (S or D)>

ò Caution!
 Input 5 corresponds to the ring indicator signal (RI) of the V24 Periph.
To trigger on an incoming call,
The parameters NO and S must be set.
 The value 0 in the recognition time disables the corresponding input.

Activating the simple or double alarm signifies:

For simple: the alarm is activated on the transition from the release condition to the
operating condition (the release condition is defined by NO or NC)
For double: an alarm is started on each change of state.

Example:

AT*E=1,20,NO,S  Input 1 is taken into account after at least 200-ms activation,

its release condition is open and it is a simple input.

Descriptions and non-contractual illustrations in this document are given as an indication only. ERCO&GENER reserves the right to
make any modifications.
EG_GEN 44i_963_CL_002_UK.doc Page 15 / 55

For viewing, the command format is:

AT*E?< Input N° (1 to 5)>

Example:

AT*E ?1  Displays the definition of input 1.

AT*E ?  Displays the definition of all the inputs.

- AT*A: Access to writing a script for an input

This command allocates a script to an input state.

Each script has a memory space of 500 bytes (see APPENDIX IV) and must always finish
with the END command.

An input is characterised by its "definition" (see above):

- For a double input, the GEN 44i allocates a script for each state, which gives 2
distinct scripts.
- For a simple input, the GEN 44i only allocates one script.

Format:

AT*A< act on the transition to alarm (+) or return to release condition (-)>
=< Input N° (1 to 5)>
+ For the inactive to active transition
- For the active to inactive transition

After the command AT*A, all the macro-commands (see below) will be allocated to the
script for the chosen input until the END command that indicates the end of the script.

With Extension card Input number 1 to 13

Example:

AT*A+=3  Access script writing for input 3 when input 3 is activated.

AT*A-=3  Access script writing for input 3 when input 3 is deactivated.

- AT*ANA : Allow us writing ANALOG Input script

This command can create script with analog input.

At this end you must put FIN.

You can define 2 different actions :

Descriptions and non-contractual illustrations in this document are given as an indication only. ERCO&GENER reserves the right to
make any modifications.
EG_GEN 44i_963_CL_002_UK.doc Page 16 / 55

- Double Input : Gen44i can run 2 script per Input

- Simple Input : Gen44i can run 1 script per input
-
Format :

AT*ANA< Action when alarm mode (+) or standby mode (-)>

=< N° input>
+ For overtaking of a threshold
- For le Return to its threshold of repose

Sample :

AT*ANA+=1  Going to the Analog script n°1 when Input 1 More than the high threshold
or the low threshold
AT*A-=1  Going to the Analog script n°1 when Input 1 Return to its threshold of
repose

- AT*BAT: Definition of the actions after detecting a low battery voltage

threshold

This command defines the different actions after a low battery voltage threshold. The script
has a memory space of 500 bytes (see APPENDIX IV) and must always finish with the
END command.

The triggering threshold is programmable, see AT%S command.

Example:

AT*BAT

O1=C // Close output 1

MESG=0612345678,low battery voltage // Send an SMS to 0612345678
END // End of initialisation.

- AT*R: Clear current alarms

This command deactivates triggering a script (only active in dialogue mode). The user
must enter dialogue mode via the escape sequence (---) and use the command described
below.

Format:

AT*R< Input N° (1 to 5)> To designate a specific input.

AT*R Simultaneously for all the inputs.

Descriptions and non-contractual illustrations in this document are given as an indication only. ERCO&GENER reserves the right to
make any modifications.
EG_GEN 44i_963_CL_002_UK.doc Page 17 / 55

Example:

Interrupt triggering the script on input 1:

AT*R1

- AT*T: Value of the inactivity timeout

When both V24s are interconnected, one of the possibilities to cut this link is to use
the inactivity timeout:

Principle:

When no more data passes between the two V24s in one direction or the other, the
GEN 44i arms its inactivity timeout. When it expires and there is still no data, both
V24s disconnect.

Format:

AT*T= time in seconds (1 to 5999)

To display the inactivity timeout:

AT*T?

Example:

AT*T=60  60-second inactivity timeout.

Descriptions and non-contractual illustrations in this document are given as an indication only. ERCO&GENER reserves the right to
make any modifications.
EG_GEN 44i_963_CL_002_UK.doc Page 18 / 55

IV - AT! COMMANDS

- AT!EEPE: Completely erase the saved configuration

This command completely erases the information saved in the GEN 44i (all scripts and
parameters).

Principle:

The user must enter dialogue mode with the escape sequence (---) and send the
following command:
AT !EEPE
The GEN 44i then sends back:
OK
Then the GEN 44i must be switched off and back on again.

- AT!ETATS: Display the state of the GEN 44i inputs / outputs and the
battery voltage

This command displays the state of the Inputs/Outputs and the battery voltage at a given
moment.

Principle:
The user must enter dialogue mode with the escape sequence (---) and send the
following command:
AT !ETATS
For example, the GEN 44i then sends back:

INPUT STATES and the RI(ring indicator)

OOOOC O for open C for closed
OUTPUT STATES
O1=O O2=O O3=O O4=O ALI=O
V BATTERY= 11.88 V

AT!S : Management Output

This command can manage output.

Format :

AT !S < Output n° (1 à 4)>=Statement (O or F or C)

O like Open,
F Like Close
C like twinkling (0,5s/0,5s)
P Like Pulse

X - AT% COMMAND

- AT%S: Manage the low battery threshold

To program the low threshold:

AT%S= low threshold voltage

The low threshold voltage must be between 0 and 25V.

The value accepts two decimals after the decimal point (ex: 10.54).
The tolerance on the voltage is ± 0.1V.
The value 0 disables triggering the corresponding script (See AT*BAT)

To display the low threshold:

AT%S ?

This functionality uses the resources of the GSM modem (analogue/digital converter). It is essential to
activate this converter by sending the command AT+ADC=1 to the GSM modem.
This command must be included in the power up script with the macro-command MESA=AT+ADC=1.

XI - MACRO-COMMANDS

After using the AT*A command, the GEN 44i enters the script writing procedure; a certain
number of commands also called "macro-commands" can then be used to affect the
outputs or GSM.
For each new valid macro-command, the GEN 44i sends back the "OK" report.
Each script has a memory space of 500 bytes (see APPENDIX 4) and must always end
with the END command.

- S: Drive the outputs

This command activates or deactivates a determined output.

O< output n° (1 to 4)>=output state (O or C or B)

O for Open,
C for Closed
B for Blinking (0.5s/0.5s)
Example:
Close output 1:
O1=C

- MESA: Send an ASCII message

This command sends an ASCII message to the internal GSM

Format:
MESA= 40 characters max

Descriptions and non-contractual illustrations in this document are given as an indication only. ERCO&GENER reserves the right to
make any modifications.

(see AT&A)

Format:
V24= (P or I or T)

Definition of each parameter:

P: Direct link if the carrier (DCD of the GSM) is present before executing this macro-
command. When this signal disappears, the direct link is eliminated.

I: The direct link is immediate. This mode is quitted when there are no more
characters passing on the link and the timeout programmed by the AT*T command
has expired.

T: The direct link is immediate. This mode is quitted when the timeout programmed
by the AT*T command expires, regardless of the data activity.

Example: V24=T and AT*T=40

The direct link set up for 40 seconds.

- T: Timeout

This command starts a wait timeout in seconds.

The system remains fixed until the timeout has expired.

R for Ring indicator (RI): wait for an incoming call.

C for Carrier: wait for signal 109 (carrier presence) to be present.

M for Message: wait to receive the character string indicated in the

"message" field.
The programmed message must be surrounded by " (ex: "ALARM").
The received string must end with the carriage return character (0D in hex).
If the received string contains additional characters, they are ignored:
For example, if we wait for CONNECT and we receive CONNECT 9600, the
acknowledgement will be accepted.

S for SMS (GSM short message): identical operation to the M

acknowledgement

D for DTMF (multi-frequency code): identical operation to the M

acknowledgement
The programmed codes must be 0 to 9, A, B, C, D, * and #.

Actions if no acknowledgement:

R for Repeat the actions: No acknowledgement, the GEN 44i repeats waiting
for the acknowledgement five times from the start of the script:
- In case of acknowledgement, it continues its script, ignoring the lines
marked with ",*"
- If there is no acknowledgement after five repeats, it executes the
lines marked with ",*"

C for Continue:
- In case of acknowledgement, it continues its script, ignoring the lines
marked with ",*"
- If there is no acknowledgement, it executes the lines marked with ",*"

Jx for Jump to a label x (x =0 to 9):

ò Caution! A non-acknowledgement cannot go on to a new acknowledge

command; an ACK= command cannot therefore be used with
the marking ",*"

End of the 10 seconds:
 No "CONNECT" message, then return to the start of the script 5
times in a row as long as the acknowledgement has not arrived.
 The "CONNECT" acknowledgement does not arrive:
the line indicated by ,* is executed:
Output 3 closes.
 The "CONNECT" acknowledgement arrives:
The script ignores the line indicated by ,*: and continues
the program: Output 2 closes.

- REPORT: Transfer remote inputs

This command copies the local inputs from one GEN 44i onto the remote outputs of a
second GEN 44i.

- NETWORK: Test that the GSM network is present

NETWORK=1 The GSM network present test is activated

NETWORK=0 The GSM network present test is deactivated

A loss of the GSM network for more than 2 minutes triggers the power up script (AT*INIT).
During GSM network absence, the inputs are still managed but the scripts are blocked.
When the GSM network is again available, the waiting scripts are started.

For this macro-command to operate correctly, see the power up script proposal in chapter
XIII.

- END: End of script command

This command indicates the end of a script.

- //: Comment separator

This separator is inserted in a line of a script and allows the comment to be inserted.
The end of the comment must end with the carriage return (0D in hex.)

Example: O1=C //Close output 1

XII – THE INTERNAL GSM MODEM

- To commission the GSM modem:

 Turn the GEN44i off.

 Open the GEN44i case (4 screws).
 Place the mini SIM card in the support and close the flap.
 Check the internal antenna connection.
 Close the GEN44i case (4 screws).
 Connect the external antenna (see appendix 7).
 Turn the GEN44i on: the status led must be permanently on (see appendix 6).
 The first time it is powered up, the PIN code must be entered. This is done by
using the GSM Prog system V24 interconnection mode (see PREAMBLE and
PIN CODE chapter)
 Check the reception level (see the technical documentation for the WMOI3 on
our site).

- PIN CODE:

Two operating modes are then possible:

A - The PIN code must be entered after each new power up.
B - The PIN code is saved on the card. It will no longer be requested each time the unit
is powered up and the unit will remain permanently operational.

- To enter a PIN code:

The PIN code is essential to make a call or accept an answer coming from the GSM
network.
This code is contained on the SIM card and it can be changed by the user.

ò Caution! The user only has 3 attempts to enter the PIN code. Once these 3 attempts
have been exceeded, only a second code, the PUK code, supplied by the operator will
allow a new PIN code to be chosen. (See chapter To change the PIN code).

1 – Enter the PIN code (example if the PIN code =1234):

AT+CPIN=1234
2 – Check the PIN code:
AT+CPIN ?
The GSM modem sends back: +CPIN : READY : The PIN code is correct
+CPIN : SIM PIN : The PIN code is incorrect or
has not been entered yet.
+CPIN : SIM PUK : The PUK code is demanded.

Descriptions and non-contractual illustrations in this document are given as an indication only. ERCO&GENER reserves the right to
make any modifications.
EG_GEN 44i_963_CL_002_UK.doc Page 31 / 55

- To lock the PIN code:

To avoid systematically entering the PIN code for the SIM card each time it is turned on, a
command can be used to lock the request;
ò Caution! the card will be unlocked and can then be used on any other GSM
terminal.

Example: if the PIN code =1234:

1 – Enter the PIN code:

AT+CPIN=1234
2 – Check the PIN code:
AT+CPIN ?
The GSM modem sends back: +CPIN : READY
3 – Lock the PIN code (SC must be typed in Upper case characters):
AT+CLCK= « SC »,0,1234 (The digit 0 indicates locked)

The next time the GSM modem is turned on, it will accept any call or response coming
from the network.
To activate the PIN code request again each time it is powered up, simply enter:
AT+CLCK= « SC »,1,1234

- To change the PIN code:

The PIN code can be changed by the user on the condition that the current PIN code is
known.

AT+CPWD= « SC », old code, new code

Example: AT+CPWD= « SC »,1234,4321

Changing the PIN code of the SIM card implies entering it each time before using the GSM
modem.

- To test the GSM network presence:

Before starting a call, it is possible to test that the GSM network is present by executing
the command:
AT+CREG ?
The responses: +CREG=0,2 Looking for the operator network
+CREG=0,1 National operator network found
+CREG=0,5 Roaming operator network found
The values 1 and 5 indicate that the equipment is recognised by the network.

XV - FONCTIONNEMENT EN MODBUS©

The GEN 44i with software package V10.00 version incorporates the protocol MODBUS in mode
RTU (Remote Terminal Joins). It is so possible to accomplish a network consisting of a chief robot
piloting several slaves, certain places and others distant.
Dialogue MODBUS is made independently via link V24 or RS485A.
Mode MODBUS slave allows to throw and to accept calls, but also to read the state of the 4 entries
TOR and to pilot the 4 exits (or more if card extension), of throwing of calls, etc..
Also, the distant modem is able of acknowledging woofs concerning it. It is also possible to read
the address of GEN44i and/or robot calling slave on a local level.
In the mode of functioning in MODBUS, it is wholly possible to use the entries of alarms to send
messages or make appeal towards a distant site.
When GEN 44i acts as slave; her address is parametric from 1 to 255. It does not manage
requests of broadcasting (address 0).
Shape is made before the installation except MODBUS via mode has talks or the mode
downloading. When the modem is configuring in functioning MODBUS, the return in normal mode
is made by the order of exhaust --- .

ATTENTION: Further to an exhaust it is inevitably necessary re to grab the order of swing in

MODBUS.

15.1.2 – Output Call

The chief terminal can order call towards the dynamic number, save not but beforehand sent in
GEN 44i via address 0700 h.
The chief terminal owes in first prove study in the register of entrance address 0020 h, the
availability of the line (not ongoing entering call), then he writes 128 80 h (hexadecimal) or
(decimal) at address 0010 h (call of the dynamic number).

The launching of the call to place during the writing at address 0010 h. At this instant GEN 44i
points out progress and culmination of call via the register of entrance 0020 h.

When connection is achieved the modulation and the online speed the hotel in the register 0022 h.
In case of failure of call or in break of connection, reason is available in the register 0021 h, and
GEN 44i erases the register 0010 h, charges 0000 h in registers 0020 h and 0022h pointing out the
end of call so.
The chief terminal can interrupt the procedure of call, automatic answer or connection by coming to
write 0000 h at address 0010 h.
When the modem is linked up with a network of slave, it is also possible to generate calls by
speeding up the entries of alarms 1 - 4 (1à 12 entered TOR and 1 - 4 analogical entries if card
extension). In that case GEN 44i uses the scenario corresponding to the entrance.

Descriptions and non-contractual illustrations in this document are given as an indication only. ERCO&GENER reserves the right to

V24=P // Connection with slave in MODBUS protocol
CDEDTR=O // DTR off if Connection OK
CDEDTR=O,* // DTR off if connection OK
FIN // End Scrip 4

15.1.3 – Incoming Call

The chief terminal by scanning regularly the register of entrance at address 0020 h, discerns the
presence of an entering call, then connection.
When connection is achieved the modulation and the online speed are available in the register
0022 h.

En case in work of call or break of connection, reason is available in the register 0021 h, and the
modem erases the register 0010 h, charges 0000 h in registers 0020 h and 0022 h pointing out the
end of call so.
Any time the chief terminal can interrupt the procedure of call, automatic answer or connection by
coming to write 0000 h at address 0010 h.

every entrance TOR or analogical.
- Ads 0700h to 070Fh : Telephone number loaded in MODBUS to be called.
- Ads 1000h to 1003 : The whole register allowing knowing the common value of every
analogical entrance (Extension Card).
- Ads 1100h to 1103 : The whole register allowing knowing the value minimum attack by every
analogical entrance (Extension Card).
- Ads 1200h to 1203 : The whole register allowing knowing the value maximum attack by every
analogical entrance (Extension Card).
- Ads 1300h to 1303 : The whole register allowing knowing the common value of the low
threshold of launching of an alarm (Extension Card)..
- Ads 1400h to 1403 : The whole register allowing knowing the common value of the high
threshold of launching of an alarm (Extension Card).

GEN 44i has registers of entries allowing following the sequence of a call

- Ads 0020h : Allowing knowing the state of the modem.

- Ads 0021h : Follow the progress of call.
- Ads 0022h : Know the modulation and the debit side of communication.
- Ads 0024h : Identify the modem and the local network.
- Ads 0040h : Read the telephone number of calling it, if this functionality is available on network
and speeded up in the GSM modem (Command AT+CLIP=1).

GEN 44i has more allowing following possibilities let use entries / exits.

- Ads 0000h to 000Bh : Reading of the state of entries (in unit or by block).
- Ads 0000h to 000Bh : Reading or positioning of exits (in unit or by block).

15.1.5 – Function code

GEN 44i answers the codes of function following MODBUS:

01. Read of the status of N Output ( 1 Word = 1 to 16 output max).

02. Read status N Input N (1 Word = 1 to 16 output max).
03. Read of N Word.
04. read of N input Word
05. Positioning of an exit
06. Positioning of word

Line length:

The distance between the contact of the associated hardware and the GEN 44i modem
depends mainly on two factors, the supply voltage and the resistance of the wire.
Therefore, with the GEN 44i, the line resistance may be 1K ohm maximum.

We recommend using at least 6/10 twisted-pair cable.

- Schematic diagram of an output:

The outputs are made from electronic components called OPTO-MOS relays.
opto-coupleur

The various parameters of this component are:

Typical ON Resistance of 25 ohms.
Maximum load voltage of 250 volts
Maximum continuous load current of 120 mA
Maximum leakage current of 1 µA at 250 volts.

On option, output 1 can be an electromechanical relay to provide greater control power

- Antenna cable

The maximum length of an extension cable must not exceed 10 metres using an RG58
C/U cable ( 5 mm) 50 Ω, in one piece.

For lengths close to and greater than 10m, it is preferable to use a "low-loss" cable,
reference RG213.
This cable has a larger diameter (10 mm), ò Caution! Take care with the type of
connections used (FME is too small).

For extension cables greater than 5 metres, the connections must be limited and prefer a
one-piece link between the modem and the antenna.

- To install a remote antenna

For an extension cable longer than 10m, a measurement must be made on the site:

 Place the antenna in the required place (roof of building, balcony, pylon …)
 Install the SIM card for the selected operator and activate the PIN code; the red
indicator must flash.
 When placed close to the antenna (with an extension cable), make several receiving
measurements using the command AT+CSQ and record the mean value of the <rssi>

The maximum theoretical length of an RG58 extension cable will then be calculated
according to the following formula:

Lmax = 2(rssi-15)/0.8

Data:

 On standard RG58 cable, the maximum attenuation with connectors is in the order of
0.8 dBm/metre
 To operate normally, the min measured "rssi" value must not be less than 10 (prefer
15)
 This "rssi" value is in 2 dBm steps.

Example:

If the measured <rssi> is 21, the maximum length will be 15m.

Note:

This extension cable must be one piece.
