(City). August 5, 2017 he Postmaster, Head Post Office, Faisalabad. Respected Sir, | regretiully complain against Hafeez Khan, the postman of our area. The delivery of mail in this locality is most irregular. The postman is very unpunctual and he does not deliver the mail daily. Sometimes, he comes punctually at 10, a.m. sometimes at 1 P.M. and sometimes he does not turn up at all and keeps the letters with him for distribution the ” next day. Several times-he has delivered my letters at the house of my neighbour. Last week, the amount of a money order was wrongly delivered. The postman should not take his duty so lightly. He must behave and act in a responsible manner. A public servant carinot afford to be so remiss in his duty. Would you kindly look into the matter and take some suitable steps against him. Yours faithfully, pvezs 3. Write a letter to the D.LG. Police against the poor condition of law and Examination Hall ABC. (Cty) September 20, 2017 ‘order in the city. The D11.G. Dear Sir, Through the columns of your esteemed paper, I want fo invite the attention of tho authorities to the deplorable condition of the roads and drains in the town, ‘Some of the streets are not paved at all. They are seldom swept. Heaps of rubbish and garbage keep lying on the roads for days. Children and even grown-ups case themselves on the roads and gutters freely. There is no check on them. Heaps of it tying here and there are a very obnoxious sight. They are playing havoc withthe health of the people. The drains give out a foul smell. They are never washed and flushed with phenyle. There is a danger of some epidemic breaking out in a virulent form, There are some streets which are without proper drains. Drains in many streets badly need immediate repair. The water accumulates in the streets blocking all traffic. What a terrible sight! Most of the roads are badly broken. They are in a terrible state of disrepair There aro roads full of pits. Yesterday a tonga tured turtle in a pit in the road outside Qaisari Gate Its occupants were badly injured. The wheels of the tonga wore broken to pieces. Soma streets are without lights. Absence of ght is a great hindrance to trafic at night. Let us hope the authorities concemed will feel thelr duty in the matter and set things right without loss of time lest some epidemic should break out and carry off a large number of people. Write a letter Co the editor o & she Editor, sho "News", Lahore gubjéct: The curse of street-begging Serve forthe courtesy of your columns to cal attention of the authorities to the evils of sreet-begging. Wis assuming an alarming proportion in our country. There are more beggars in our country these days than ever before. No bazar, no street, no tratlic signal, ro railway station, no hospital, no garden, no bus stand, no mosque is free from them. Most of these beggars are professional, The curse of drug addiction has added a lot to the ‘umber of beggars. They pester you at your home, follow you to your office and worry you atyour shop. They are everywhere. If you do not pay them, they grumble at you and curse you. Some of them are quite healthy and strong. They are work-shirkers. They have taken to begging because they do not want to do hard-work There are some beggars who are utter lame or blind or suffering from some highly infectious disease. Women, young girls and children are found begging everywhere in every town and city. The government and public should discharge their duties in curbing this evil. All types of begging should be declared unlawful by law. The healthy and able-bodied beggars should be made to work on fixed wages in factories or workhouses. For olhers, poor houses should be opened where they could be fed and clothed at Government expenses, The public should be requested to contribute towards their maintenance. Those beggars ‘who suffer from infectious diseases should not be allowed to spread diseases by moving about in streets or lying on roadsides. They must be sent to hospitals for treatments, The social wellare department should step forward to rehabilitate the drug-addicts into normal lite by their brain washing and proper treatment. The public should also be educated not 10 take pity on these drug-addicts and professional beggars. I hope that the Government wil look into this matter and take steps to eliminate this curse from the country. Yours truly, . X.Y.Z. (Name)
