Activity Type Introduction

Reading and speaking This engaging board game activity is ideal for reviewing future
activity, group work forms.

Procedure
Language Focus
Tell the students that they are going to play a board game to

review future forms.

Divide the students into groups of three or four.

Aim
To review future forms. Give each group a copy of the game board, a dice and counters.

Players take it in turns to roll the dice and move their counter

Players must give detailed answers and form sentences. Short
answers are not allowed.
Level
If a player lands on a square containing a question mark, the
Intermediate player asks the other students in the group a question about the
future, which they each answer in turn.

Time The other students in the group judge whether the player's answer
25 minutes or question is grammatically correct.

If it is, the player stays on the square.

If a player makes a mistake or cannot think of an answer or

question, they go back to their previous square.

Encourage the students to ask supplementary questions and for

explanations to answers when possible.

The first player to reach the finish square wins the game.

As an alternative, you could have the player miss a turn instead

of going back to their previous square.
