AQUALANCE

FACE BODY
TM

rovides a dynamic moisturising effect complementary to

the skin’s natural water gradient.

Homarine and erythritol

Function:
Osmoprotectant skin moisturiser. Keratinocytes
Definition:
Osmotic module composed of size +37%
homarine and erythritol. DRY REHYDRATED
Properties:
Protects against hyper- and hypotonic
stress, desiccation and UV dehydration
stress. Ensures aquahomeostasis of the Skin surface
skin cells and progressively rehydrates the
different layers of the skin. moisture +34%*
Characteristics: * after 24 hours
Erythritol exhibits permeation properties
and improves the water holding capacity
of the cell.
Homarine, a cyclic zwitterion, counteracts
the ion disequilibrium of the cell.
Aqualance™ ensures cell viability against
the damaging environment by maintaining the
water level and volume of the skin cells.
Points of interest:
Aqualance™ mimics the
osmoprotectant system that enables
Platymonas subcordiformis, an estuarine
microalgae, to survive the alternating
salinity of the estuaries.
INCI name:
Water – Erythritol – Homarine HCl
Applications:
All moisturising products.
Formulation:
Water soluble
Recommended use level:
3-5%

The hydration kinetics of Aqualance™ in the different layers

of the skin is complementary to the skin’s water gradient.
The water level stabilises in the stratum corneum after
1h, in the epidermis after 2h and in the deeper layers after
24h. Aqualance™ can replenish the skin’s pool of water and
maintain the optimal level of water in the cells.
