WHAT WE DON’T LIKE

PARABENS
Parabens are the most widely used synthetic preservatives in cosmetic and skin
care products. They are used to inhibit bacteria and micro growth however
there is heated debate as to whether these products are safe to use or ingest.
Parabens have an ability to mimic the body’s natural hormones with links being
traced to diseases, as well as causing topical skin issues such as rashes and
allergic reaction.

PHTHALATES
Phthalates are a family of organic chemicals produced from oil and are used to
make plastics flexible and as lubricants in cosmetics. The main side effects are
that phthalates are endocrine disruptors and have been linked to birth defects.

TALC
Talc is a mineral substance used in a variety of cosmetic and personal care
products from baby powders to eye shadows. It is added to absorb moisture,
smooth or soften products, and make cosmetics opaque. Some talc may con-
tain the known carcinogen asbestos and with repeated exposure can cause
irritation, cancer, and organ system toxicity.

OXYBENZONE & OCTINOXATE

Oxybenzone is a chemical sunscreen that is used in many sunscreen prod-
ucts. Oxybenzone is considered harmful to reef environments due to leeching
off the body during activity and decrease corals’ defenses against bleaching,
damaging their DNA and hurting their development.

PLANT DERIVED SQUALANE

Squalane is a saturated and stable hydrocarbon that is found naturally in the
skin. It has very high emollience, is an exceptional hydrator and can prevent
ongoing loss of hydration that impairs dermal suppleness. Squalane oil is hy-
drating, soothing, non-irritating and non-comedogenic. Squalane oil is suitable
for ALL skin types, from dry to sensitive to oily and acne-prone.

MCT (COCONUT OIL)

Easily absorbed into skin, helps hydrate and prevent dry skin. Helps skin that is
acne prone due to its non-comedogenic properties, while being a great light
weight carrier.

VITAMIN E
Powerful antioxidant that quenches free radicals, helping protect skin cells from
damage. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble, essential nutrient with anti-inflammatory
properties. Vitamin E helps support the immune system, cell function, and skin
health. It’s an antioxidant, making it effective at combating the effects of free
radicals produced by the metabolism of food and toxins in the environment.
