Dear Mr Director,

I’m writing in reply to your advertisement for volunteers to elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka.
I’m interested in working at the

orphanage and I’d like to know a little more about the work.

I’m from Peru and I’m currently training to be a veterinarian in Lima. Before that, I was
employed as an assistant veterinary physician and as an administrative assistant to the
veterinary clinic for two years. During that time, I learned a lot about interacting with animals
and helping them in their diseases.

I believe I have the right qualities for the job because I am friendly, responsible and
empathetic, I have an interest in the conservation of the environment, I have a positive
attitude and I can work well in a team. As well in addition to liking to take good care of
animals, I'm good at office administrative work. I speak fluent Spanish and Intermediate
English. I’d like to do something useful after I graduate. I also believe it’ll be a good
opportunity to learn about other cultures and to gain more experience in my profession.

I have some questions about volunteering. First of all, how long will volunteering last?
Regarding the volunteers, where exactly will we live and how long will we work at the elephant
orphanage in Sri Lanka?? In addition, could you please send me information about visa
requirements and travel arrangements?

I’m willing to attend an interview at any time.
