I am going to talk about the current dress code and to share some of my opinions on why our
company should introduce a new special day called the ‘dress-down’ day. I am also going to discuss
the positive and negative aspect of introducing such a day.

Firstly, our current dress code is a basic one ranging only from a black to a blue suit, a white shirt,
black or brown trousers black leather shoes and a tie. Not only is it a basic dress code but also it does
not catch one’s eye, or make employees feel comfortable.

Secondly, some of the advantages of having a so called ‘dress-down’ day are straightforward. For
example, employees may feel more comfortable when they’re able to wear what they want, and
can make them feel more satisfied with their workplace, which can improve their desire to work.
In addition, the employer will benefit from having lower total costs, thus raising the profits

In contrast, introducing a formal dress day will almost surely affect the image of the company.
For instance, the employees will appear less professional when casually dressed, which can have
a drastic effect on the customers impression. Furthermore, having fewer rules may lead to a
laxer attitude in general, which could end up negatively affecting productivity.

In conclusion, if I were the CEO of the company I would take the risk of introducing such a day for
the well-being of my employees. With no looking back I would also ban it if it were to affect my
productivity and my profits.
