BAZAN PANANA, GERALDINE DENISE

INTERMEDIATE VII

A day to forget
It was a bad day. I woke up late. When I left my house it started to
drizzle and, obviously, I was dying of cold. I started running while I
was having breakfast and, suddenly, I fell out, my jeans ripped and
my breakfast fell. It was painful and embarrassing.

Alex had been working hard all day, and was looking forward to
going home. The previous day, Alex had gone to a party and
returned at 4 a.m., he only slept an hour, because he could not miss
that day, since it was the day of payment. Alex had been saving for
almost three years to buy a second-hand car, and with that day's
payment he would have finally collected enough money.
It had been a tiring day, and when it was 11 p.m., he grabbed his
briefcase and the money he had been given, because the system
financed online did not working. When he was walking home, Alex
felt that someone was following him, he downplayed it, but he
started to feel a little nervous, since he realized that they were really
two men. Suddenly, a third man appeared and told him: ‘Give me
the money or I´ll kill you’. Without hesitation, Alex handed over the
money and the guys got into a car and vanished. Alex was scared,
got into a taxi and went to the police station to file his complaint.
Although he could almost die, Alex couldn't stop thinking that he
would have to wait another month to buy a car.
