Topics Discussed:
RECRUITMENT AND PROMOTION OF PERSONNEL IN THE PUBLIC SETTING
Discussants – Ma. Estrella Cuajao
Rovie Mae Cuajao

After listening to the topic discussed, I have realized that I am lucky to

be a part of the public sector. Though application process to undertake in
applying in a public sector is complex compared with the private, it is still
worth the effort.

With regards to the recruitment and promotion in the public sector,

there is a government interference particularly the Civil Service Commission.
The policies of every sector under the government must be anchored on the
Civil Service Commission.

When it comes to the biases and unfairness in the public setting, it

cannot be avoided most especially if the unfavored applicant himself is not
knowledgeable about the law on recruitment and promotion. The law is there
but how it is being implemented by every government agency really matters.
I hope that these bad practices will be resolved and be given attention to by
the higher ups. The head of offices must be sincere, fair and dedicated
enough to do their responsibilities.
