The online habits of the young

Nowdays, more than ever more and more people are getting access to the
internet. Among the young some of the biggest uses of the internet are for social
media, fact checking and online shopping.

By the day more and more apps appear on the Google play store or The Apple
store which only lower the trust of their customers. This opens a window for
online scammers whose entire goals are to steal your personal information and
money from your bank accounts. What’s more worrying is the fact that there is no
way of stopping them other that your personal situational awareness. Some of
the ways that they can get to you are either by fake phone calls about computer
malware or scam emails about fake winnings.

However, there are some ways to avoid these kind thieves. My biggest advice is
that if you are not very skilled with your computer only download apps from
certified online markets like: Google Play Store, Apple store, Microsoft store and
many more. They usually get their information about you from social media apps
like Facebook or Instagram so another pice of advice would be not to add too
much information about you on your social media profiles or set them on private
mode. This way only your friends can access your personal information. Regarding
the fake phone calls and emails, unless you know the phone number or the email
address just deny it, it’s way better if you reject them from the start.

In conclusion, my suggestion would be to generally stay aware about the web

sites you access and where you log in with your personal information and when a
website gets sketchy just close it.
