Abstract:

This research aims to measuring the cognitive style (dependent/

independent), recognizing the level of distraetility as well as the
relationship between them to the college students of education
university mosul, according to the variables of gender, specialization
and the classroom in the students of Sciences, College of Education,
University of Mosul.
To achieve the aims of the research, the researcher adopted the scale
of cognitive style proposed by (Yousif, 2011) and the scale of
distraetility proposed by (Ibraheem, 2007).
Face validity and reliability were accounted by Test-testing both
scales. The reliability coefficient of the cognitive style scale was (0.80)
while the coefficient of the distraetility scale was (0.84).
The data collected were statistically treated using the T test for a
single sample and two independent samples and Person's correlation
coefficient. The results showed that the students do not have the
cognitive style , dependent r independent, and there is no statistically
significant relation between the cognitive style and distraetility
according to the variable of specialization only. In the light of these
findings, the researcher presented a number of recommendations and
suggestions.
