approval) at your insituton. As a nursing instructor for the Pennsylvania College of Health
Sciences, | had the privilege of working with Amy fora S-veek Medical Surgical dinicl rotation
‘on the 7E (Observation) Unit at Lancaster General Hospital in the spring of 2017. During this
rotation, Amy gained experience with organization, teamwork, prioritization, delegation, IV
‘medications, and patient and family teaching while caring for up to 3 pationts ata time.
‘The nature of the Observation Unit requires students tobe able to prepare for their day in
minimal amount of time and be ever flexible, as these patients move through this unit quickly.
‘Amy ose (o that challenge. She possesses excellent critica thinking skis, and advocates
responsibly for her patients. Amy uses her time wisely and efficiently, able to prioriize and re-
prioritize when a patient's condition changes course. Ami isnot afraid to ask questions, and
always has patient safely atthe forefront of her practice. She is able to establish a therapeutic
‘environment through her ably to Fisten patienty, demonstrate compassion, and educate while
aiving her patients quality, culturally-competent care, Amy is aivays eager to learn new things,
and takes responsibly forall her actions. She integrates well into the care team, always with @
postive attitude.
