Tradition

What is tradition? Tradition is a long-established belief that has been passed on from generation
to generation. Examples of tradition are attending “simbang gabi” during Christmas season,
eating turkey on Thanksgiving, going to the graveyard to visit departed family members,
relatives and friends on All Souls Day and going to the church every Sunday.

The reason we need to keep and do the tradition because it also brings joy to our celebrations. It
also brings a stronger bond to the family you are celebrating with and thanking god for all the
blessing we have.

Traditions are thoughts, actions and beliefs that are meaningful and thus are repeated in some
form. These matters even more in today's world because they give support and security in an
insecure world. Traditions are something consistent that can be counted on when so much around
us is shifting and changing.
