As future teachers, how important will a curriculum be to you?

Curriculum is same as the skeleton of our body. This provides structures for what
students will be expected to know and do at the end of the day, week year and upon graduation.
That is how important curriculum is to me as future teacher. Curriculum will help me know what to
teach, how to teach and why to teach and fully connect to my students. Through curriculum, I can
set goals to make it easier to align teaching methods with students. The quality of education is
maintained by curriculum. Curriculum will be my guiding instrument in engaging my students to
professional development, improving learning outcomes and prepare my students for the challenges
and opportunities of the future. I will able to understand the structure, credits, module descriptor by
going through the curriculum. This knowledge would help me to plan my weekly plan and the end
assessment. Curriculum will be my guiding instrument in engaging my students to professional
growth and prepare them to challenges and opportunities in the future. Upon realizing how important
curriculum is, I have now a bigger picture on how will I formulate & design teaching method, assess
students and improve learning outcomes. I can now enhance instructional environments based on
the guidelines that will give students opportunities to think and reason in MATH lessons. For
example, National curriculum states we teach mathematics because it is use for everyone in
meeting the demands of everyday living. Therefore, my teaching strategies will circle on the
mathematics skills and knowledge in real-life problems. I will make my lesson plan and exam more
related to everyday life like buying items w/ discount, handling money, manipulating shapes and
interpreting numerical and graphical data. Therefore, curriculum is essential to teacher because it is
the guidelines on what skills must be taught in each grade level.
