The Core family is the foundation of the entire training program. Practice visualizing the
relative location, abbreviations, names, and sounds of all 10 core family elements before
moving on to the next lesson.

Instructions: Memorize the name and formula for the 10 Core Family Groups. Notice
that the 7 groups along the border have 3 oxygen, and the 3 groups in the pocket
have 4. Each Core Family Group name end

the Starter Family of 4 Elements Silver (Ag), Zinc (Zn), Aluminum (Al) and the

Lesson: 7 of 30
Purpose: To translate a formula to the substance name using 4 new right side element groups
which resemble Core Family Element groups (HCO3 bicarbonate, HSO4 bisulfate, H2PO4
dihydrogen phosphate, HPO4 hydrogen phosphate)
It is also correct to call bicarbonate and bisulfate, hydrogen carbonate and hydrogen sulfate,
respectively.

Instructions: Memorize that hydrogen is a left side element to only 7 core family
elements. For the other three (carbon, nitrogen, oxygen), hydrogen appears in the
formula and the common name for these 4 formula is used (CH4-methane,
methane,
NH3-ammonia, H2O-water,
water, H2O2-hydrogen peroxide).
