PROPOSAL FOR SISTER CALLISTA ROY REPORT (TEAM 103A)

[BSN 103 - THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS OF NURSING]

STRATEGY: The class is divided into 4 groups. The activity was entitled “help me”, each of the group
would be choosing what is the best concept need to apply on the given situation according to the theory
of Roy Adaptation Model. Each of the group has to complete all the needs of the patient. If they lack or
excess answer, there will be no point. The answer should be exact.

The activity will be conducted after the discussion of Roy Adaptation Model since the activity will be
based on the theory. Cases will be given base on the case study indicated from the proposal along with
the answer to the case. CASE STUDY A 19-year old male patient was admitted at a hospital with a rib
fracture. He was a varsity player on his school, and he is also the ace player. He got injured during a
baseball tune up game, he’s been hit by a baseball bat accidentally. The championship is coming when
the accident happened.

Consider what adaptation would be necessary in All of the four modes
each of the following four adaptive modes.

FRAMEWORK The framework presents the Adaptation Model of Sister Callista Roy, it has five main
concepts of nursing theory which are health, the person, the nurse, the adaptation and the
environment. There are lot of environmental factors that could trigger one’s development and/or
behaviour. these factors could be focal, contextual and residual stimuli. And the person has four coping
processes that we could apply to be able to respond positively and the behaviour of the person will be
dependent on how he responded or reacted, which will result to adaptation.
