Dear Families,
As this new semester starts, I would like to formally introduce myself. My name is
Nicolette Nelson and I will be completing my student teaching assignment in your child’s
classroom. I am currently studying secondary education at Grand Valley State University.
Student teaching is the final step I will take before receiving my teaching credentials. I will work
in the classroom everyday starting in January.
As a student teacher I will spend time observing the class structure, routine, and lessons
that Mr. Jesser teachers, I will work closely with Mr. Jesser I will gradually take in the
responsibilities of the classroom teacher. I look forward to working with such a wonderful group
of students. Prior to working in Mr. Jesser’s classroom, I have worked in various other schools
assisting teachers in their lessons.
Teaching and working with students bring me happiness, and I am so pleased to finally
be able to work in a classroom full time. Spark of my goal as an educator is to spark curiosity in
the minds of students. During my time in your child’s class, I hope to excite your child about the
world we live in and help broaden their academic interests.
I would like the thank you for providing me with the opportunity to work with your child.
I look forward to learning from my mentor teacher and from your child. I look forward to
meeting you as well in due course.

Sincerely,
Nicolette Nelson
