How to tune rear derailleur

I. H limit

Step 0: Big gear front, Small cog rear

Step 1: Turn barrel adjuster clockwise (x4)

Step 2: Turn H limit screw too tight (until it's audible)

Step 3: Loosen H limit screw until there is no sound

Step 4: Turn barrel adjuster counter-clockwise (x2)

II. Indexing

Step 0: Big gear front, Small cog rear

Step 1: Put RD to 2nd smallest cog

Step 2: Turn barrel adjuster counter-clockwise, until you hear the sound.

Step 3: Then go clockwise until there is no sound

Step 4: Move on to bigger cogs. If you hear sound, turn the adjuster clockwise. Then go
smaller, and back to the bigger (noisy) cog

Step 5: If shifting is slow, quarter-turn clockwise of barrel adjuster will help

III. L limit

Step 0: Small gear front, 2nd largest cog rear

Step 1: Shift to largest cog rear

Step 2: If there is noise, then good! If there isn't, then go back to 2nd largest and tighten L
limit. (Repeat until you hear noise at largest cog)

Step 3: Once largest cog is noisy, go back to 2nd largest rear cog and loosen L limit

Step 4: Go back and see if it's still noisy

Step 5: Repeat until largest cog is no longer noisy.

(Press RD shifter to see if RD moves. It shouldn't move)
