1. Plaster
Definition: An adhesive bandage, also called a sticking plaster, medical plaster, or simply
plaster in British English, is a small medical dressing.
Uses: Used for injuries not serious enough to require a full-size bandage.

2. Sterile Gauze Dressings

Definition: This type of dressing has a pad made of an absorbent material (often cotton wool).
The pad is covered in a non-woven fabric, which prevents fibers from the absorbent material
sticking to the wound. The pad is attached to a stretchy rolled bandage enabling the dressing to
be easily secured to the affected area.
Uses: A sterile dressing may be used to control bleeding from a major wound or to absorb any
discharge from a minor wound.
.
3. Disposable Sterile Gloves
Definition: Medical gloves are made of different polymers including latex, nitrile rubber,
polyvinyl chloride and neoprene; they come unpowdered, or powdered with corn starch to
lubricate the gloves, making them easier to put on the hands.
Uses: Medical gloves are disposable gloves used during medical examinations and procedures
to help prevent cross-contamination between caregivers and patients.

4. Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipe

Definition: The active ingredients of the alcohol-free cleansing wipes are 0.2% Cetrimide and
0.2% Chlorohexidine. The packaging states that these cleansing wipes are not to be used on
broken skin, therefore avoid using these cleansing wipes directly on a wound. For a wound
wipe see sterile saline cleansing wipes.
Uses: Individually wrapped alcohol free cleansing wipes for cleaning the area around a wound,
or to clean skin before applying an adhesive tape or dressing.
5. Triangular Bandages
Definition: A tubular gauze bandage is used to retain a dressing on a finger or toe.
Uses: A triangular bandage is used as an arm sling or as a pad to control bleeding. It may also
be used to support or immobilize an injury to a bone or joint or as improvised padding over a
painful injury.
