Virtual Classes
The first time I heard the virtual classes concept I was very excited because
I wanted to know what it feels like to take classes in a computer as
homeschool and I thought I wouldn’t miss the normal way of going to
school. I expected it to be very different from what I am used to, but it in
my opinion is the same process, the only difference is that we are not in a
presential way. We have a lot of pression because we need to learn a new
way of taking school classes and its more difficult because having my eyes
5-6 hours in front of a computer can damage my view, the last days this
way of learning is causing me a lot of headaches. Although virtual classes
have some disadvantages it also has a very good part, for me the learning
process is better than when I went physically to school, I have more time to
prepare myself and I can learn more because we have more learning tools,
also this new way of learning is preparing us to be successful in adult life
with technology. I think I wouldn’t change anything from virtual classes if
I could. The only requirement students need to succeed in this new form of
study is the willingness to study and learn because it is so easy to search
every answer on the internet while the teacher isn’t looking, also it is easier
to skip class just by turning off the microphone and camera. The students
that will learn this year are those who are honest and have the goal to exit
school knowing something. I like virtual classes more than going to school
but it makes me a little bit sad that this year I am not going to share my last
high school moments with my friends and teachers, even though sometime
we get angry with the teachers they have a very important part in our
growing and learning process and for me the teachers have an inexplicable
value in my heart. The funniest part of taking virtual classes is when
someone forget to turn off their camera or microphone. We can hear or see
something we didn’t expect to, but it is very funny. One activity that I think
can help us is learning how to do college essays because one day we will
have to write a lot of essays in college, also we can use programs like
kahoot and Quizziz.
