SENTENCES

 A sentence is a group of words that makes


complete sense.
 A sentence always begins with a capital
letter.
 A sentence must end in a full stop (.) or a
question mark (?) or an exclamation mark
(!)

Full stop (.), question mark (?) and exclamation


mark (!) are known as Punctuation marks.

 Full stop (.) – A full stop is used at the end of a sentence


when we do not ask a question.
Example - 1. I am a student.
2. It is my school.

 Question mark (?) – A question mark is used at the end of


a sentence when we ask a question.
Example - 1. What is your name?
2. Where do you stay?

 Exclamation mark (!) – An exclamation mark is used


after a word or a sentence that shows something shocking,
exciting or expressing sadness.
Example - 1. What a beautiful picture it is!
2. Hurray! I passed the test.
