Author: Tommy Wallach

Favorite Lines:
“Do you think it is better to fail at something worthwhile, or succeed at something
meaningless.”
“Red Rover, Red Rover, send Ardor right over,’ Eliza said. They laughed. The asteroid
was a little bigger now, brighter, and still they went on laughing.”
“Whether Ardor landed or not, there was no way to know what would become of any of
them.”
“Real winning was having the most to lose, even if it meant you might lose it all. Even
though it meant you would lose it all, sooner or later.”

Review: We All Looked Up has become one of my top books so far this year. A story about an
average group of teens who struggle with the idea of the end o the world. With the news of an
asteroid heading towards earth, no one really knows how to react. What should you prioritize?
Will you have a future to look forward to? Or should you just give up and leave everything
behind? The author answers these questions throughout the story and through the five teens we
follow. We see how they deal with this news and how they decide what to do with their last
moments. I think everyone will be able to relate to one of the characters, even though some of
them are cliche but do gain some development throughout. You can probably guess the ending
just by reading the book's description. But reading it really gives you hope that something will
change in the end. You grow to care for these characters and want them to make it out alive.
The subject can be dark and somewhat draining but the story is written in a way where it doesn't
feel like that. You are given hope that even in the worse of items, you can still find something to
live for. I highly recommend this book, I've read it many times and will read it for many more.
